Quoted from BowlingJim:Trying to update . Wish me luck.
Good luck. ( if you make a mistake, the delta failure shouldn't hurt the game, you just won't have the newest software in it )
Instructions are in the manual.

Quoted from Hammerhead:it says its updating and reboots but still shows version 2.01.
Nothing on your USB stick. Or game not recognizing it.
I'd try a different USB stick.

Quoted from Georgeh:What stick is there a pindemption dongle for hobbit like in woz if so where can we buy it
I'm not sure Hobbit has this. If available the dongle would have to be purchased from Jersey Jack Pinball in New Jersey.
If you put it in your game. And if you turn it on. And if you ever turn it off. BACK UP YOUR SETTINGS FIRST.
I put it in my WOZ to learn for tech support. Turned it on. Hey cool. Turned it off. And settings were MUCKED UP ! Monkey disabled, couldn't insert more than one credit and play one game at a time. And who knows what else was all F'D up. I got tired of discovering new things not working and did a factory reset and then tried to remember all the regular adjustments I'd made.
Backing up settings would have be way easier. Turn Pindemption off, reinstall settings. Done.

Quoted from Beowulfz07:Are you going to be steaming tomorrow?
No, his office is air conditioned.

Quoted from trilamb:Any tips on fixing it?
Check that nothing around Smaug's head is impeding the rotation of him.
Then check below the playfield for anything else obvious.

Quoted from slcorrado:Ran update and machine says it’s missing jpg files
You didn't get a good download, or something went wrong when you put it on the usb stick.
I'd start with a fresh download. I'm on a PC, how I do this is download the file, put it on my desk top, it then looks like a zipped file. I put a formatted usb stick into my computer with nothing else on it. Then I left click the zipped file once, then right click, select extract all and send it to the usb stick. It should have Hobbit_Update on it. if you open the stick.
When done I go to the game with it turned on, plug in the usb stick, go to utilities and select update and do what the screen says. When done unplug the usb stick, turn game off, wait half a minute and turn game back on. Then hit enter and see if the update number is in the game, lower right corner of the game.

Quoted from slcorrado:And any idea how to ‘unbrick’ the machine?
Full install if it's bricked. Follow instructions in the manual.
Takes time to download, load on stick, and into game. Files are huge.

When ever I update a JJP pin. Full install or delta. I take a memory stick with nothing else on it. Go into Utilities - back up settings. Then remove the memory stick. After update I put the memory stick back in, go to Utilities - settings restore, and restore my settings. Then remove the memory stick.
That way just in case the update changed any of my settings, they are back in.

Quoted from Rdoyle1978:How did people get into the beta testers' group?
On rare occasion like today, test updates may be posted on the WOZ forum. Otherwise it's usually employees.

Quoted from twenty84:Where is this code update, WOZ/JJP forum that everyone speaks of?
Private forum. If you own a JJP game, email [email protected] to get access to it.

Quoted from Jim-Beam:Fault on my side or is there really a problem actually ?
I just tried it. Working here.

Quoted from KevInBuffalo:Anyone have recommendations to make it stick?
You are doing something wrong, or the game doesn't like your USB stick.
On my PC I download it, put it on my desktop. Format a memory stick to be sure nothing else on it. ( PNY 8 GB ) Left click the zipped folder, the right click it - pick extract and send it to the USB stick. Take the USB stick and plug it into the USB cable in the game, go to Utilities - USB Update - do what the screen says. Then the screen says Update In Progress. When doen it says Remove the USB stick and turn the game off, wait a bit, and turn back on. Then check if the 2.99 is in it.

Quoted from bigd1979:No toppers or manual's?
Manuals was made.
Lorenzo's topper never made it into production.

Quoted from bigd1979:Also was was the hobbit topper suppose to be like?
Kind of a front of a Hobbit house, door openswhen game starts, closes when the game is over.
I've only seen line drawings. Don't know if one ever got built.

Quoted from genex:update failed on three different USB drives we tried it on.
Be sure they aren't too big ( I use 8GB ) Nothing else on them. And 2.0, not 3.0 USB.
