Looking for advice. I have a Gottlieb 1963 Gaucho machine that works - mostly. I put new rubber on it in 2009. I have the schematic. I think I have about 95% of the parts. It has some hacked wiring and some iffy relays, worn brass mechanicals and such. My original idea was to yank all the relays (but keep the playfield and back cabinet intact where possible) and replicate the ladder logic using a PLC. My son says that would be close to pin blasphemy. So he suggests I try to find someone with a Solid-State machine that needs work (that I could retrofit via Mission Pinball) and try to trade for the Gaucho. I'm in Nashville. Tips on best way to go about doing this?

Put a post up in the marketplace, add some photos of the game inside and out, mark it for trade, and put "project" somewhere in the title.

From your description, it sounds like it could be repaired.

It can actually be converted to PLC control rather easily/non-invasively. Still blasphemy, but. As ForceFlow says, it's probably not nearly far enough gone that that would be necessary though. EMs are tough.
