How many solid state games have been made with no target banks?

(For now) Go ahead and distinguish a bank as distinct from a single target in your statement -- even if mechanically they are similar.

(suggested) Please post one title per post, so that it's easier to upvote/downvote the single selections as people fact check your ideas.

No Fear was the only DMD fan I could think of without any target banks.

Any others?

[correction!] it has one 2-bank on the right. Honorable mention... AND a single drop blocking a ramp

Doesnt No Fear have a two bank of standups on the right?

Do the two single standups on the left of Black Jack count as a bank?

Tri-Zone only has four individual drop targets

Sega's Space Shuttle

Oh and of course, Hercules

Sega's Space Shuttle

Space Shuttle has two target banks. How about Johnny Mnemonic?

Oh Sega, my bad

#12 6 years ago

I updated no fear to honorable mention status.
Any others?

Eight Ball and Eight Ball Champ

TF has a bank on the right

Quoted from zacaj:

For now, yes.

I understand that BoP has a 2-bank for bonus x...
TZ has two 2-banks of standups near piano...

LMGTFY...

Solar Fire! Just kidding.

I was thinking the other day about how many shots are on a given playfield. I think i counted 13 on no fear and 21 on Solar Fire.

Sorry for the detour...

What about GOTG? They replaced MET's bank of Fuel Targets with a single wide bar target.

That seems like a snapping hazard

Dirty Harry has a number of single stand up targets -- but no drops that I can think of. . . not sure if this qualifies for the OP's question. I know the prototype game had one drop target that was eliminated for regular production.

Edit: Just realized several of the targets are next to each other -- DH disqualified.

Aren't some of the bullet stand ups right next to each other through?

You are correct. Edited the post after I realized my mistake.

Before I add gotg pro -- does the premium or LE have a target bank of 2 or more?

#27 6 years ago

Mof, was I right about Johnny Mnemonic? I have bad eyes. This is an fun thread dude, we need less complaining on the forum and more fun. That's what the hobby is about after all.

Johnny Mnemonic?

I'm looking on ipdb -- sure looks like it -- a few single targets -- can any JM owners chime in?

HaHa well done -- I was looking for solid state "designs" even though you caught a re-make!

Raven has drop targets but no banks. Does that count?

#32 5 years ago

I'm seeing three banks of standups on Raven on ipdb

My goal is to learn: Which pinball machines are using ONLY single targets (Standup or Drops) in areas...

Sorry, I thought it was strictly drop targets. My bad.

JM has a little 2bank standup set for lighting the left ball save kicker

Isn't that only a single target with two lights?

Super dog targets

Overlooked those...

How about the classic 1977 Eight Ball ?

#41 5 years ago
Quoted from Mitch:

Demolition man

Damn, super close -- like No Fear, it has a 2-bank of standups...

#43 5 years ago

All right how about strikes and spares? it has 5 targets in a row but not technically. there is a post in between each target and each target is mounted in its own individual cutout (hole). this allows it so that you can hit in between the taget and just hit the post without registering either target.

I played that game recently...not even sure what it has!

No targets, that's for sure

Interesting! I appreciate you pointing that one out -- it is on the fence...

But for the purpose of my research, it doesn't qualify...
