Fairly new unit 2-3 years old. So upon using which is somewhat infrequent, i’m in the room next to unit and I smell something electrical toasting. I check pins nothing, go in other room unit is hot as hell and after touching the paint sticks to my hand.I call customer service and ask for a manager and explain what happened and thankfully I was close by. His response was well nothing happened so what is your complaint. WTF am I wrong for being pissed.

Thanks Jeff

At only 2-3 years old, your Denon should definitely have a thermal protection circuit that kicks in when it overheats. I'd be concerned that it didn't. Did you have it cranked? I've tripped mine a few times after cranking it through the roof showing off my theater.

I'm not condoning what he said or how he said it, but it's out of warranty and I'm not sure there is much they could do to help you over the phone.

Yeah, it's probably out of warranty. You maybe should talk to someone in tech support.
