Sounds to me like Dennis thinks that Andrew's estimate of Alien being ready by April is extremely optimistic, if not downright unrealistic.

    Quoted from solarvalue:

Oh man, this is not good news. Look what happen to the Hobbit after Joe Balcer left. The designer of a game needs to remain until production begins. Is there no chance of a resolution?

I agree. Having another designer come in to try and finish what another designer started is far from ideal.

I seriously doubt that there is a chance of a resolution since this was posted publicly by Dennis.

The great irony here is that per Dennis' post above it appears that him leaving was due largely to the unreasonable expectation of having the pin done/ready by April, but nobody here thought it would be done by then anyway.

People are going to be much more upset with Nordman leaving than they would be by having Alien delayed by several months.

RobT, you thumbs down my post basically saying the samething you did here. Nice move slick

Sorry, but I do not interpret what you said as being the same thing that I said at all. Slick.

    Quoted from jazzmaster:

Understood! But maybe this is all coming down at a time in this hobby that will not allow you to get a pass just by making a statement like that. Many people in this hobby are at a breaking point with pre-orders, missed timeline milestones, outright deception concerning delivery schedules and half-baked software development on delivered games. Many people in the community feel that they have gone way beyond what should be expected of them, monetarily and otherwise, to prop up new pinball ventures. Maybe it is time for a real show of faith from the other side.

I agree with this, but I also think that it is a bit misplaced when directing it at Heighway since they are not relying on the pre-order model in order to be a viable pin manufacturer.

    Quoted from jazzmaster:

I agree that Heighway may not be partaking in the more questionable practices that other companies are.

And that's my point. None of the other stuff that you said matters compared to this.
