I just got a Demolition Man machine where the sound doesn't work. All I get is a single popping sound when I turn it on. The error that shows up is sound board interface error.

The voltages coming into the board are 4.9vdc and 12.7vac. I have reseated the connectors and the roms which did nothing.

I tried to find something online to help troubleshoot these boards and couldn't find anything relevant to my problem. I don't want to just start shotgunning this with components.

Hopefully someone can give me some guidance on what to look at.

Was the game advertised as having working sound?
Do you have any other WPC games?

I bought it knowing the sound didn't work. No, I don't have any other WPC games. I also forgot to mention that the only thing that doesn't work on the machine is the sound.

Reseat both ribbon cables.
If that doesn't fix it, then I would look for broken solder joints to the connectors on the sound board that the ribbon cable plugs into.

I reseated all of the cables and checked solder joints. I found 2 traces that were broken. All other connections looked good. One broken trace was going to Y1 and the other was between pin 55 of U1 and R12. I put jumpers in to make the connections. Still no improvement.
