Re: the problem of the ball not making around the orbit is usually caused by the metal ramp flap in the shooter lane, also it could be the actual coil striker is loose and it hits the ball off center when it launches it. Check both of those and see if you can adjust.
Quoted from Wobblychairs:The coil striker is tight and hitting the ball square center. What can I about the metal flap? I screwed it down tight. Can it be replaced, it's riveted in?
First you have to verify that it's the culprit...check to see if there is small lip on it that can catch the ball, if not check to see if it's dimpled, if it's then you might be able to unscrew it and stick something under it to smooth out the dimple. Either way, it can be repaired, no need to try and replace it unless it's badly mangled.
well 10-15% is fine, I get the about the same ratio, also I noticed that the curved ramp at the end has some button head screws that might catch the ball and make the ball flutter which causes it to hit the sides and not exit.
Quoted from karmalord:Update: seemed to have fixed Claw problem. This is for people who may have a problem with their claw that was similar to mine and have been looking for a fix but have been stumped as I was for the past 3 weeks since purchasing.
I had errors being thrown from the Claw left right. sim.,elevator error, just about anything to do with Claw.
Cutting to the chase after not being able to move claw in test,I found if I moved the claw out of the elevator and made sure the elevator was all the way in park,I could now move the claw left and right. I then watched the elevator in test and it was throwing and error on the way up. I determined it was binding a bit and not getting from point A to point B in time thus throwing the error.
Not wanting to just throw money at the problem to see if it would fix it, and Marco is out of em anyway, I decided to take the elevator off and check it out. I was able to unscrew the motor and turn the shaft by hand no problem so eliminated that, and when I moved the elevator up and down manually I felt it bind a bit. I took some household oil 2 in 1 oil and dropped it in the large gear as I turned it and cleaned the two shafts the sleeves ride up and down on. Also the housing around the top of shaft was a little bent so I straightened it a little and put everything back together. Presto! that elevator now moved up and down very smoothly and the claw now worked as well. Credit dots have now vanished. Don't always think it is an electric/opto problem as it can be mechanical as well. I did clean optos at first attempt to no avail. Hope this helps someone.
cool..thanks for the update.
