I like the look of lighting up the crane in the back, but wanted to avoid seeing the lights. I had some LED strips and thought I'd give them a try. I wired them together, stuck them to the top of the inside of the crane pieces and then connected them to the 12v at the front of the cabinet. I think it looks pretty sharp.
Quoted from dmacy:May have to get some strips!
After taking those pictures, the adhesive on the strips softened from the heat of the LEDs and the strip fell to the bottom of the crane. I'm going to have to find a better way to attach the strips. Let me know if you come up with any ideas.
Quoted from Phetishboy:You can also use fence staples
The strips are inside the plastic crane piece. I can't use staple or brackets without putting holes in the plastic. I may try to rig something up that holds the lights in place on the board and then put the plastic over them. Thanks for the suggestion.
I recently picked up a DM with some bad water damage on the head box door. I painted some 1/2 inch MDF and made a new one. I thought I'd share some photos of the project.

I also scanned and recreated the CAUTION label.

Quoted from JosiahCox:the upper flipper results in the ball jumping off the habitrail
Check to make sure the correct flipper coil is installed. That coil should be the FL-11630. A stronger coil might make it jump the track.
While you're at it, check to be sure the other two flipper coils are correct. FL-11629.
Quoted from FreeBee:These inserts look crackled and are blackened on the inside, any tips on cleaning this?
You can pull the circuit board off beneath the inserts and get to them easily with a q-tip and some novus 1. That black stuff will come right off.
Quoted from Ballsofsteel:that had to have been on 5 ball gameplay? or you are a king .good score mang
Thanks!
Nope. It was set to 3-ball. A couple nights later I beat that score by another 7 billion points. I didn't post anything because I didn't want to deal with the disbelievers. That game took almost an hour. I avoid playing DM now when I just want to play a quick game.
Thanks.
Claw on. I try to balance the claw modes and the multi-balls. You can score a lot of points during demolition time if you keep the balls in play and hit those stand ups. And combos, combos, combos. Earning extra balls helps a lot. Also, play with the triggers, those points help too.
Quoted from Gogojohnnyquack:I have one coming in a container group buy that I know has wear down in front of the flippers that I don't have the skills to fix.
I'm interested in your playfield if you buy a better one for yourself.
