There's a Demo Man for sale near me. He's asking 1800 for a beat up machine that's not working. I've always enjoyed the game, so I might pick it up and try to fix it. Question- who makes the ice blue LED's)? They look nice. Are people choosing the frosted?

#1429 4 years ago

Cool thx. Hopefully I can talk him down slightly. There's no keys, it keep powering off, the magnet doesn't work, warped ramps, rusted pistol grips and other issues. The cabinet and back glass look ok. I like a challenge. Can anybody guess what it's worth?

#1433 4 years ago
Quoted from Gogojohnnyquack:

That's a $1200 machine, IMO.

I agree, but I don't think he'll come down that low.

#1435 4 years ago

Thx. I offered him 1000.00 over the phone last week and he turned it down. Unfortunately, I have the pin fever and it's time to fix another one up, haha. We'll see what happens, I didn't know about the fade tho. Don't like that.

#1438 4 years ago

I can't tell by the pictures if the play field is dirty or faded. I'm also hoping that the ramps only have warped top plastics and the main portion of the ramps are ok.

Hey guys, just joined the club. While I was shopping out the game I noticed I couldn’t see the Claw modes that well. I decided to attach a red plastic sheet to the back. I think it turned out nice and looks like it should be there. I thought I’d pass it on.

Wow! That is nice. I might copy it. Any advice? What did you make it out of?

I have some left over colored sheets I purchased for other mods. 15.00 You can also use them under white/clear inserts that you would rather have colored (Deadpool)

EBay-
SAKOLLA 8 Pieces Transparent Color Correction Lighting Filter - Colored Light...

I cut to size and attached with double sided tape. Easy

Looks great brother! How is it attached?

I used 6 small strips of double sided tape.

Quoted from Ceckitti:

I have "Blued" out most of my DM. I might have to try this with a blue or light blue film. Great idea. Looks good.

Originally, I tried the cool white bulbs in the upper play field, but it was to bright for my liking. I switched to ice blue with purple flashers. I put a couple led strips in the back blue windows and added blue flipper bats with translucent rubbers. Hopefully my mirror blades get delivered today. Killer game!

#2687 1 year ago
Quoted from Ceckitti:

I have been thinking of doing the LEDs in back windows also. AND Im sure mirror blades would be perfect for this game. I might have to look into that also.
Post pics of the blades once you get them in.

I installed the mirror blades and they look great. However, I couldn’t get them to fit correctly. The hole wouldn’t fit over the hinge bolt, therefore leaving a bump in the blades. This would be ok, except it’ll scratch the blades when I lift the play field. I’m going to take a Dremel and make the hole bigger.

I also bought two led strips from Comet and Y them together. Probably cost 15 dollars.

I actually got a extra set of those said LED thumb buttons. Trade for left plastic sling

There's a left sling plastic for sale on eBay for 21.00.

Quoted from alexanr1:

Might be able to get one. What is a good price for a Demolition man today? I always assume I will need to put $250 into any machine I get to get it in proper operating condition.
Anything in particular I should double check as well? Part or area that breaks and is hard to fix?

3500-4200 would be a good price, but I'd pay up to 5000 for a nice one. Obviously condition is everything. I'd highly recommend picking up a Demolition Man if you can. It's become one of my favorite WPC games. I own Dracula, Getaway and have had others. I haven't had any big issues with the game. It's a plus if the games been shopped and the ramps have been removed / cleaned. The ramps are a little bit of a puzzle. My favorite mods are Ice Blue LEDs, red cryo claw plastic, blue flipper bats with translucent rubbers, purple led under play field located off the third flipper hole skill shot and color dmd.

Hi - I am a brand new first time pinball owner. Just got my Demolition Man on Sunday and I'm having a switch issue. Wondering if anyone could offer some advice. I've written it up as a reply on the topic below, because the OP on that topic was describing the exact same symptoms I'm experiencing. Rather than cross-posting, here is the link:
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/demolition-man-check-switches#post-7307725

Check the back box and make sure all your molex connections are plugged in on your mpu and driver board. Check your fuses with a multi-meter.

I tried cool white on the play field and it was to bright for me. I ended up switching most to ice blue. If you want to stick with white, I’d pick the dimmer sunlight bulb.

I didn't like the original chrome so I powder coated both handles and changed to black legs. I've got the lighted buttons installed also. [quoted image]

Nice way to tie it into the legs. Looks sweet.

Quoted from Zigzagzag:

Using OCD-boards (Afterglow or LedOCD) has become a must for me.
The combination of bright, even LEDs with proper fading is way better than the pulsing and "hard" on/off without these boards.
I'm now using it on all my WPC/sys11/DE/Sega games.

Do you have a link? I think I tried these on Centaur without much success. However, there was 2 options and I probably selected the wrong one.

#2954 6 months ago
Quoted from Zigzagzag:

I'm not aware of any LED-fading-boards that will work with a early Bally pinball like Centaur.

But what’s the link for Demolition Man?

Quoted from BubbaPin:

Hey so weird thing, that I have never seen before tech wise. Wife has been playing our demo man alot lately. The other day she was having a game and I noticed left flipper was way out of alignment, but pointed upwards instead of down wards... I took the glass off, too the plunger out, inspected it, noticed it wasn't tightened up around the prawl and retightened, reinstalled, and realigned. Tonight I just played it and noticed the flipper positition raised alittle bit again.
I'm stumped.
Possible bushing issue?
What yall think? Had game since 2022 and no issue since initial rebuild and alignment.

Keep tightening with the Allen wrench.

Quoted from Laithan:

I thought I might have seen these in the past.. maybe I am dreaming.

Does anyone make:
(1) Blue chrome or a repro/original chrome cryo-claw cover?
(2) Blue ball path selection. The upper part of the Cryo-bracket assembly that tells you what each ball path is (with decals).

I appreciate any info in advance ty!
[quoted image]

I put red film paper behind mine. Helps make it pop and more legible.
