Quoted from Captain_Tilter:Damn, good job on the door!
Thanks!
Quoted from Matt_Rasmussen:Not the triggers, the top buttons...but I'll look again.
Try a couple drops of WD40 on each button just to see if they will free up. If not, take the handles apart and clean them properly.
Got my DMD issues figured out (bad dmd board) but I have a new issue that I am hoping somebody else has seen.
Almost every shot into the skill shot ramp opposite the upper flipper results in the ball jumping off the habitrail and into the wall right as it hits the curves before the drop hole. I have not tried anything to solve the problem yet as I only got that game last Friday but I am hoping someone else has seen this happen and fixed it.
Anyone else ever experience this?
Cheers!
Quoted from JosiahCox:the upper flipper results in the ball jumping off the habitrail
Check to make sure the correct flipper coil is installed. That coil should be the FL-11630. A stronger coil might make it jump the track.
While you're at it, check to be sure the other two flipper coils are correct. FL-11629.
Nice, was wondering if you had white bulbs along side the car chase?
It appears to be lit up well on yours. Mine and others I've seen appear washed out by blue bulbs and I dont' see the cars very well. See you have the back light mod which I want to do also, but not sure about the best way to add additional lights there.

Yes cool white frosted. I'm not a fan of colored GI too much other than certain places depending on the game. Mix warm and cool white frosted and agree it makes it much brighter back there.

Yea thats what I did its nice and clean looking and you can see alot better and I just have blue in the very back just to break it up abit however when art at comet gets the ice blue in I believe they willl be the perfect combination of blue and super white and will look great in this game
I'm also in the club! Got it a few days ago. Lower left GI was out due to a burned fuse, and it did not have a coindoor lock, but those were easy to fix. I've been cleaning the hell out of it, I've never seen a more dirtier pin. I used bio ethenol, though I just read that this is not really advised on pinside. Still, have not seen negative effects, and it worked like a charm!

The Fortress Multiball insert is actually the worst one, it lifts up a little in the corner. I've already hammered it down enough with a wooden block and a rubber hammer. These inserts look crackled and are blackened on the inside, any tips on cleaning this?
I'm going for a full LED conversion, and I'd like to make some mods to it. I'd like to lite that crane/beam in the back at least, but are there more nice mods for this pin? I haven't seen many more.

You can pull the circuit board off beneath the inserts and get to them easily with a q-tip and some novus 1. That black stuff will come right off.
Update: seemed to have fixed Claw problem. This is for people who may have a problem with their claw that was similar to mine and have been looking for a fix but have been stumped as I was for the past 3 weeks since purchasing.
I had errors being thrown from the Claw left right. sim.,elevator error, just about anything to do with Claw.
Cutting to the chase after not being able to move claw in test,I found if I moved the claw out of the elevator and made sure the elevator was all the way in park,I could now move the claw left and right. I then watched the elevator in test and it was throwing and error on the way up. I determined it was binding a bit and not getting from point A to point B in time thus throwing the error.
Not wanting to just throw money at the problem to see if it would fix it, and Marco is out of em anyway, I decided to take the elevator off and check it out. I was able to unscrew the motor and turn the shaft by hand no problem so eliminated that, and when I moved the elevator up and down manually I felt it bind a bit. I took some household oil 2 in 1 oil and dropped it in the large gear as I turned it and cleaned the two shafts the sleeves ride up and down on. Also the housing around the top of shaft was a little bent so I straightened it a little and put everything back together. Presto! that elevator now moved up and down very smoothly and the claw now worked as well. Credit dots have now vanished. Don't always think it is an electric/opto problem as it can be mechanical as well. I did clean optos at first attempt to no avail. Hope this helps someone.

cool..thanks for the update.
Glad you got it karmalord.
One thing I find funny is that if you don't use the normal cabinet buttons for so many times/games, you get the credit dot thinking the buttons aren't working. Of course at home, I use the handles almost exclusively so finally got in the habit of tapping on the cabinet buttons a few times when playing. Not a big deal but you place handles on the game that many people will use, it would nice to have the option to turn off alarms for the cabinet buttons. First world pinball problems...
Yeah, I had experienced this when I came home last night and there was the flipper button error left and right . Wife had played about 20 games, but said she switched back and forth. That hadn't happened before when my son played with handles only while I was gone and no credit dot . Strange, as you would think he would have thrown the dot not her.
Thanks, Translight will work for now and Markmon did a great job with the powder coat on rails, bar, coin door and hinges. He also installed Pinballbulbs in it before handing it over to me. I'm tweaking it a little more trying to brighten up the car chase with some whites, but my tablet really didn't do it justice with all the glare in the pics.
Got a question regarding the right ramp and how it's supported. My pin has this long hex post attached to one of the lane guides, and it's going up to just under the right ramp before the metal wire. However, it's not attached and when a ball moves there or it goes out from the VUK on the wire ramp, the whole assembly jiggles and it makes it look cheap.
Should it be attached? And how? Can anyone help me out or post a pic of their machine?

Hey guys, I am working on a project machine and I did notice that the schematics for J103 on the power driver board are not consistent with the wiring on mine (surprise surprise). Anyhow my j103 is wired as follows j103-1 NC, j103-2 NC, j103-3 Blk grd, j103-4 Blk grd, while the manual states that it should be wired with the 2 blk grd wires being at j-103-1 and j103-2. Could someone please confirm this for me please. Thanks for your time.
Quoted from GoodToBeDad:Had a good game last night. Three demolition times, twice around the multiballs and several extra balls.
that had to have been on 5 ball gameplay? or you are a king .good score mang

Nope. It was set to 3-ball. A couple nights later I beat that score by another 7 billion points. I didn't post anything because I didn't want to deal with the disbelievers. That game took almost an hour. I avoid playing DM now when I just want to play a quick game.

Wow crazy score! Nice...very nice!!
Claw on or disabled?
Thanks.
Claw on. I try to balance the claw modes and the multi-balls. You can score a lot of points during demolition time if you keep the balls in play and hit those stand ups. And combos, combos, combos. Earning extra balls helps a lot. Also, play with the triggers, those points help too.
The Demolition Time roms are rad. Totally worth picking up.
On a separate note - Always - always - always unplug your DM before messing under the playfield.
I am still trying to fix switch matrix issues on mine over a month after effing stuff up by forgetting this easy step.
Got most everything working now but the start button does nothing now when I try and start a game even though it registers in switch test. I feel like pushing it off a tall cliff. So frustrated. I hate tech work and just want to play the damn thing.

This or sopranos are going to be my first DMD. Can't wait.
I just bought one on Saturday from dmacy. It's my first machine and is in excellent condition. I put about 115 games on it over the weekend.
My high game is just under 3 billion. It's nowhere near as high as some of the ones I've seen, but I haven't had the machine that long. I got Demolition Time once, which was pretty bad a$$.
Wondering if someone can help me out. Go into the switch test and see if ball through switch #7 registers. I am having issues with the game spitting out more than 1 ball. All of my opto's are working using my phone. All receiver opto's register with the flash light test except for #7. I think this is switch #37 which shows it is not used. Can anyoneconfirm?
Holy Shit. Demolition Time is a great wizard mode, this games has surpassed my expectations and very happy that I got such a good condition example.

Demolition time is a blast!!!
The new barcade by me just got one of the best DMDs of all time. Everything's coming up Milhouse
23B... you guys are a lot uh better than me.
Quoted from DaveH:Oh boy! After almost 3 years I'm finally ripping this thing apart. It's needed a good cleaning for a while now. What a jigsaw puzzle!
It is way dirtier than I expected. I know it's my most played game, but damn:
image-168.jpg 283 KB

It took longer than I expected. I also called in a friend to fix a couple of the hairier issues. Of course the scoop was broken, so I had that (and a spare scoop) TIG welded. A smattering of NOS parts, plastics, a wireform, and I finally have the correct supports under the claw.
So now it is the whole "Play, tweak, play, tweak" thing. It is a lot faster, and what was my most played game is just looking at even more play now.
Anyone find a way to make the button on the gun handles lighted? I want to put an LED in the handle. A transparent button would be the easiest as I could just drill the middle out a bit. If anyone has ideas, let me know.
Hey,
I just got a DM last week for my first at home pinball purchase!! It is a great game. Have a few newbie questions for anyone out there who has worked on this game before.
1) The MTL lanes at the top of the game. I think the M and L lane wiring is backwards. When you go through the "M" lane, the "L" letter lights up (and visa versa). I looked under the playfield to switch the wires to the MLT lights, but they don't seem long enough to switch. Any other ideas?
2) My leg levelers are REALLY rusty. Put WD40 on them a couple of times, and still can't wrench them free. Any other ideas? I am about to just say screw it, and buy new legs and levelers. Any suggestions so I don't have to lift up this heavy ass game to level it....
3) A couple of the narrow yellow targets (not the round ones), lean over in the holes they are in after some game play. I moved and straightened them up, but they just keep going back. How do you keep these "Centered" in the holes?
4) Above the "Computer" hole, there appears to be some piece missing. Right now there is a clear piece of plastic wedged in there to keep balls from getting stuck in this area. Also, have a couple of cracked plastics (right side above the "Car Chase") and the right side of the playfield before the right loop. Is there a good online place to get spare plastic parts for this game?
5) My cryo-claw does not go all the way to the ATMAG slot, sometimes. I have moved it over to the left a couple of times. Is there a way I should be adjusting this under the playfield so this works 100% of the time, instead of physically moving it into place when this happens?
6) Man, I make a perfect, hard shoot up the left loop for an extra ball or multiball, and sometimes it goes through to the MTL lanes or back down the left loop. Is this normal? Is there something to "adjust" to help this issue?
7) My lockdown bar seems "loose". If you look at the holes and then slide the yellow lever in the coin door area to the closed position, the left bar is nice and long in the hole, but the right one doesn't go in as far. Is there a way to adjust this so the right one works the same as the left bar?
PM me or write here for any advise you may have.
Thanks,
JD
I can attest to that left loop being my nemesis in this game. It seems to me the upper flipper impedes on this from happening more frequently. You need this shot for the extra ball also.
Not sure of the fix when the ball does make it up there but misses the hole pissing you off. Which seems to happen a lot.
Cryo Claw has optos at the bottom that should be clean. If your handy, take it off clean everything and put it back. Before doing that check in test mode whether you can freely move that claw left and back again.
