Game doesn’t stage balls like some of the other widebodies. I’d check your trough optics.

Thanks, ordered new boards today.

#1152 5 years ago

Added the new tough optic boards now the it's not start a game. Hair pulling! Update, game starts if I disable the claw. I'll look at that tomorrow.

I was not able to start a game if one of the cyroclaw optos were not being satisfied IIRC. I would assume the opto for the elevator position needs to sense the claw for it to start a game. I ended up cleaning both optos and the game worked.

Update, working if I disable the claw. I do have a claw out or range error. Working the claw issue in test mode the elavator errors. Tried cleaning the opts no luck. Anyone know if the elavator can be tested with the error? The elavator opto tests fine. Getting 11v to the elavator board.

Hi, Looking for the Standup Target assemblies for Demo Man. None of the vendors seem to have them.
A-17795-6 STATIONARY Target Assembly (Yellow) Quantity of 3
A-17799-6 " " " (Opaque Yellow) Quantity of 2
A-18018-4 " " " (Opaque Red) Quantity of 2

Are they available under another number? Maybe an improved version. Any help appreciated or if someone has some, I gladly
Paypal F&F with shipping covered also. Need help all mine are doing the fall apart, worn out and beat up.

Thanks

Hi, Looking for the Standup Target assemblies for Demo Man

Get the complete switches at:

http://www.pbresource.com/pfswiwms.html

Or, if you have a rivet set, get the faces and replace them yourself. This is what I did with my Demo Man, following Vid's guide. If you don't have a rivet tool, I recommend the Third Hand Rivet Tool:

I have all five of the yellow ones (the decals can be removed). I pulled them out of my game and replaced them with new ones. They work fine, I just have OCD. I'll sell you the whole set for $25 shipped.

Are DM PFs diamond plated?

Yes

So my problem seems to be with the elavator. On startup the claw will return to the starting spot but the elavator doesn't move. Using a 9volt battery will operate the motor. Testing power on the small board to the motor it's at 11volt. The opto board seems to be flakey. In testing mode I can get it to open and close. In claw test mode it does nothing. I guess I am up to purchasing a new board. I am just not sure it's the issue.

#1164 5 years ago

Where on PF is it marked diamond PF?

Thanks

its in the era where all PF were coated so they stopped advertising because it was no longer a "new" selling feature.

Hi guys, I recently acquired a Demolition Man. I'm really enjoying this game! I have tore it down once so far to replace the leds and clean the gunk off the playfield, but it has the typical cryo-claw issues and it could use some additional TLC. Particularly, there are several game-specific parts I'm having a hard time finding a source for. If anyone has spare parts they are looking to sell or leads on where to source them, here's the list of what my game could use:

1) Ramps: Any/all of the plastic ramps, including the under playfield one. Most all of mine are cracked or chipped in some minor way or another (the worst of the bunch is the middle, skill-shot ramp (that exits at the Retina Scan); looking for that one above all).
2) Play-field Plastics:
* The long plastic that extends to the upper flipper (seems commonly broken). - UPDATE: ordered the PinWitch alternative one today assuming they have it in stock...
* The short plastic, just to the left of the primary-center shot.
* The right-most plastic, left of the exit out of the shooter-lane.
3) NOS Cryo-Claw opto board or a 3rd-party one like http://www.greatlakesmodular.com/products/pinball/dmcob.html. I'm assuming Great Lakes Modular is no longer around as I've contacted them on 2 different mediums to no avail. Or is there a 3rd-party, unpopulated board available somewhere that anyone knows of?

Appreciate any help or suggestions, thanks!

Picked up Demolition Man a week ago and absolutely adore it. Tonight I got my first Demolition Jackpot. I’m so psyched and having so much fun with it. Here’s some pictures of my score tonight and the actual machine!

I think freeplay40 was working on demo man ramps. Maybe check his thread.

I may have a NOS ramp for sale. I’ll check tomorrow.

I’m having an issue when I first turn on my machine, the Claw immediately goes to the far left and out of range. I can remove the glass and manually move it back in place and then the game plays fine. I can turn it off and on and no problems. However if I wait a hour and turn it back in the same thing happens to the Claw
Has anyone experienced this problem and have a solution?

While we may have claw experts around...
After 3-4 games, here's what start to happen with mine.
Machine will aknowledge that the ball is in the elevator as the claw music will play and dmd display will show timer with 9 seconds and how to use trigger to move claw BUT claw won't move and timer doesn't count down. After a while, machine goes into ball search and claw will move right and normal serve and pick up of the ball will happen but no control over the claw and release.
It will NOT happen when machine is cold ,only after about 15 minutes of play.
I've check the small board on the claw motor and reflowed the solders.Worked for an entire pinballs and beers party but problem came back last nite.
Claw, magnet and elevator always work fine in test mode...

Thanks for any help and where\what to start looking at.

Having problems with space. Any interest out here with the best DM on steroids?

Will this work as a floating eyeball replacement?
amazon.com link »

The stock eyeball is 1-1/16” in diameter. Most of these toys are larger and don’t fit, but the one you found may work. It’s cheap enough that you should give it a try!

#1180 5 years ago

The dimensions suggest that it is not round. 3x2.8x1.2”.

Yeah, kind of strange dimensions for a sphere ...

Curious about group opinion. I’m in the middle of a full teardown resto of my DM. I’ve pulled out a play field protector that has kept the play field very good looking underneath. The game played great with it on. Would you guys rather put it back on or finish it with it off? I would just like to hear what others would do.

I'm generally not a fan of playfield protectors on games with clearcoated playfields in a home environment. I think they are overkill. If it's a routed game, or an older game, then absolutely.

Just picked up my first Demolition Man machine yesterday from pinsider “Firepower1980”. New Color DMD arrives tomorrow. Been replacing the bulbs with leds and some new cars and plastics on the way.

You can probably replace the front one be just removing the metal plate it rests on (that the ball hits) and rolling the car in.

There's a spring steel flap between the two cars so I'm not sure if you could get the back car past that or if the flap could be easily removed.

Can I ask your expert opinion? I noticed the right Jet Bumper on Demo Man is not working. I did the switch test by tripping the bumper and it appears to work fine. The light flashes when I trip the bumper but the solenoid does not fire. Would it be the coil, or possible the transistor Q50 on the driver board. It doesn't effect gameplay much, but it's an annoyance

The light should be on normally, not connected to the firing of the coil. Does the coil fire in coil test? Is the light an led?
