Purchased a DM that already had the GI done when I bought it. I experimented with some different LED's under the inserts, but they all seem to strobe WAY too much. I anyone has already done this to their machine, I would really like some advice or any thoughts you might have..

Did ya try the non-ghosting ROM patch?

#3 8 years ago

No, where would I come across info on that process??

I LEDed a DM recently with Comet 1 SMD 5050 bulbs and it doesn't strobe.. I guess I should ask you what you mean by strobe?

Strobing inserts?

#6 8 years ago

That game needs non ghosting and then also go into settings and turn off a25. That last part will help with gi flickeryness, not inserts

A25 = Dim Illumination and, if I am correct, only affects power save mode.

Strobing inserts?

Yes, at times.....

Dim illumination also makes everything go bananas when certain things happen during gameplay, like when you hit the Cryoclaw. It threw me for a loop the first time I wiped out my settings changing a ROM. I thought there was something wrong with the game until I turned it off again.

Not correct in regards to power save mode.

Gotta watch the LEDs. I bought a couple kits from cointaker and they are just too much. I buy medium price LEds from Comet-they work just fine. Don't ever want to go too bright esp on flashers. BTW I LOVE Demo Man. rebuild your flippers....
