Williams, 1994When I start the fortress multiball, I notice the Hollywood sign is missing on the display. Has anyone else ever had this happen? I've had the game for about two months, and only seen it appear once. The fires are there and so is the helicopter. The speech is correct as well. Strange.
If your ROMs are socketed, try reseating them. Don't pry them out with a screwdriver or break pins in the process or you're likely to be very unhappy with the results. If that doesn't work check for cold solder joints at the ROM socket pins. Pushing on the ROM during the sign sequence might show if this is your problem.
