    Aloha all,

Just wondering if anyone here demagnetizes their pinballs, and if so, what do you use? What is the easiest, most reliable way to accomplish this? Thanks for the insight!

A quick FYI for Theatre of Magic owners: I've been having a problem with balls failing to drain properly - they wouldn't roll all the way down the trough to interrupt the opto sensors. I determined that this was due to magnetized balls. Marco sells an anti-mag shim to correct this issue.

You can use a degaussing coil but it's way less effort to just use balls that don't magnetize as easily. Generally that means a high carbon option from your supplier of choice.

My demagnetizer is round, about 2 feet tall.

Once a week I put it into a larger demagnetizer and take it down to the curb where a truck empties it and takes it away.
