Just wondering, what game has the deepest rule set of all time? And no, don't say BOPB...

ACDC is really second? I don't know the game that well but I didn't think it was that deep.

I never thought of Metallica as a deep game, but I guess it is. Completing all 4 CIU modes and then getting EOTL is probably something I'll never accomplish.
Quoted from chubtoad13:Has anyone ever beaten big buck hunter?
Nope, but it is not a deep rule set. Just real damn hard to get OPEN SEASON. good game.
Quoted from snyper2099:Also, don't confuse deep with fun. Deep is a description, fun is an opinion.
certainly true. but what would be the point of a "most fun game" thread? clearly thatd just be a recipe for disaster and hurt feelings.

Well that could be any thread around here
Which one is married to the Woz Queen?
Quoted from lordloss:Which one is married to the Woz Queen?
they are married to each other. It's one of those relationships.
I keep reading threads about deep rules, deep rules don't mean squat if the playfield design is mediocre.

+1
They even mean less if they are attached to a sucky theme.
Quoted from oldskool1969:RBION and probably the hardest too beat, Atlantis or Frog Frenzy!
Mine ain't going anywhere till I achieve these, guess it will be cremated with me?
I have reached Atlantis and its spectacular! Keep trying it's worth it.
My vote is LOTR. Still have not reached Valinor. Someday.........
Damn you LOTR, must conquer Valinor!!!

True, it goes the other way as well. Even if a playfield design is great it does't mean squat if the rules are mediocre.
Quoted from kvan99:I keep reading threads about deep rules, deep rules don't mean squat if the playfield design is mediocre.
Deep rules mean everything. The playfield doesn't matter and should be ignored along with art and theme. Nothing matters but rules.
I've heard the "if it ain't fun it ain't shit" argument so many times I thought I'd say the opposite to see what it looked like. Nobody ever said what I just said there, yet everyone acts like it is said all the time. But actually, I agree. Fun (opinion) is what makes you want to learn rules (depth).
Quoted from DaveH:Deep rules mean everything.
"The only true mark of a great game is whether I've bought one, and how quickly I proclaim it to be a great game after a day or so of playing."
