Quoted from fosaisu:

One too many kamikaze attacks on licensed theme pins?!?

There was definitely some hurt feelings when they found out I was beta testing code and had also criticized their games publicly, but once I started on Alien it felt more personal. I dunno, who cares, just funny to be reminded of it. I'm not going to Expo this year, but I presume I'm no longer banned from the factory tour, I doubt anyone there is actually mad at me. But memories and grudges are long and funny, so who knows.

Quoted from Sinestro:

Semantics. The end result was that the lights couldn't produce the plethora of colors that the Pro could. That was my point.

You mean Premium/ LE.

Whem its only semantics Then why bother answering multiple times? Never stated something else.
Just explained why that is.

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

I've played this game a bunch the last couple of days.
My impression is it's standard Stern fare, not among their best but should be a good location game. I'm not a huge fan of the playfield design, it's got some of that signature late-model Gomez clunk, most namely the sword ramp, which is a bit of a crapshoot whether or not you'll make it, and especially the area to the left of the scoop. Not sure exactly what's going on up there. Basically whenever I expect the game to flow, it doesn't.
Rules, animation, sound, art is all pretty cool. If you are a big Deadpool fan (I'm not) you'd probably be happy with it.

Thanks Levi..not the review we wanted, but the one we needed

This will be a 3 1/2 hour game.

Quoted from Sinestro:

The Star Trek starfield only looked good if you installed the blackout mod

Oh it looked good anyway and the lights are out when the multi starts, but yeah better with the mod.

There's new code out today. Woohoo.

I’m curious about the wire / trigger for the disco ball. Is it present on the Pro? I’d like to hook up a full-size disco ball and spotlight above the machine triggered in the same way.

There’s a disco insert by the left spinner, that’s how we trigger our disco ball mod for the pro.

That's a fun and amusing idea for sure.

Where (in this day and age) does one even find a legit disco ball?

Slip in a little modern technology (bluetooth-comms for the on/off signaling perhaps?) and let's go!

Of course, Amazon.

anyone looking to evaluate DPs lighting in a dimly lit environment, here are two machines on screen simultaneously for 2.5 hrs.

gameplay begins around 34:00.

Red GI seems to really dampen overall playfield brightness. This also happens with Iron Maiden Premium/LE.

I think i have finally dialed the game in and like gomez and keith said it wants to be really steep. Heres a pic on my pitch. Anyone else up high like this? I feel it shoots really well steep and frustrating and clunky low.

I've heard them say a couple of times to set it at 7.0 degrees. I don't trust the bubble, use a digital level or phone app.

Same here. 7 degrees and plays perfect and lightning fast fun. Not even sure why they still include that bubble for anything?

I'm just a small amount lower than you, and it's playing fast and fun. Ramp shots are no problem at all for our low skill level players.

#1369 5 years ago

Played it and I really like it.
I actually like it's flow and see no 'clunkyness' altought admitted it certainly is no Steve Ritchie game.
(Steve Ritchie games have no 'flow', the're pure butter.)

I really love the Katana shot because it is just really satisfying/ rewarding.
And Deadpool has a good mix of easy (Bashpool) and hard shots.

Oh, and... as a former Ghostbusters owner: Not ONE airball from the Mini-Bashpool drop Targets.

DP pro looks like a great way to go. Artwork is Amazing!

I detest the bubble level they put in the games. They should at least round the edges so it won't gouge your knuckles when working on the game.

Based upon what others have said we set up our machine at 7 degrees as well. Plays great!

should there be a disco multiball after a hundred spins?

Left spinner spins you should see is on the top left of the screen. LEft spinner to activate multiball.

#1375 5 years ago

Danni and I got in a couple of games on a pro last night.

The third game she got 880m. Game went on for ages. I only got a measly 550m.

No multiball... just a disco loops mode. And the spins only add up when you're not in a battle mode or any of the multiball modes.

Quoted from J85M:

That’s pretty much Marvel comics for you. DC have always been much stronger in the Villians department, more variety and much deeper development to them.
I’ve always loved Marvel & DC but loved them for opposite reasons Marvel I love their heroes and DC I’ve always found their villains to be the best part, as great as Batman and Superman are their villians (rogues gallery) are the real show stealers.

I'd say Spiderman is the slight exception to this rule. Some really fantastic villains throughout his series. And arguably the best villain of all time (perhaps second only to the Joker): Venom. Or perhaps more accurately just the symbiote itself.

#1378 5 years ago

My favorite Spiderman series and best villian. I would love a vault based on those cartoons with an LCD and Z yeti art. Oh man.
