If you are interested in hearing about Tanio Klyce, the software programmer who is doing Deadpool. We interviewed him on our podcast
http://www.head2headpinball.com/2018/08/20/episode-57-tanio-klyce/
We walk through his lead up and how he got his job at Stern. If you are only interested in the Deadpool talk, it starts about 32 in
This pinball machine looks like a ton of fun and I love the theme. Like others I wish there was an option for R rated speech. I'm not sure about the replayability of this. What is the full wizard mode, and is it going to take me a year of practice to get to it? The art package looks fantastic and I for one am a fan of the 16bit graphics on the display. I like the boblehead. I am looking forward to playing one of these in the DC area when they come out. Speaking of which, does anybody know when these hit the streets? This machine doesn't look like as much fun as Attack From Mars, so I have to leave that one at the top of my list. I am going to disagree with you guys on one major thing though, and say that the premium T-Rex package looks the best from a side art perspective.
Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:I am going to disagree with you guys on one major thing though, and say that the premium T-Rex package looks the best from a side art perspective.
The T-Rex is the LE.
Watched the Super Duper Cut of Deadpool 2, it is so good and the comedy so on point. It adds like ten minutes but it didn't slow the movie at all. The timing is a little painful because you see what might have been.
Per today's head 2 head podcast, this is the guy to thank (?) for the script https://thecurrentla.com/2018/comedian-brian-posehn-talks-nerds-writing-for-deadpool-and-what-is-and-isnt-metal/
Oh Pinside. Stern does a comic book pin with really nice hand drawn art instead of photoshopped movie crap and people cry, "omg the movies are more popular!" "But I never read the comic books!"
They get a writer from the Deadpool comics, and the professional voice actor of Deadpool from all kind of properties and it's "wah, there's no cursing and it's not Ryan Reynolds!"
They shoot a video with gameplay and include a whole tutorial about how to play the game and it's "waaaah, you're spoiling the rules!"
Just don't buy it, and stop complaining constantly about everything not being the perfect way you want it. Or buy it and realize that you voted with your wallet already and Stern doesn't care what you type on a forum after that.

Because people think the world revolves around them. Most seem to think stern specifically designed deadpool just for them.

Posehn is a funny standup comedian, and he’s right into his metal music.
Check out his bits if you get a chance.

Well said Aurich! I'm buying an LE, its an insane amount of money for a Pin but I liked what I saw in the live stream and a huge fan of the comic. To each their own but I have yet to find many things that are perfect in life (let alone pinball). If your not interested in this Pin just look at the other forums

To me it's not even that it's the comics- It's Sterns interpretation of Deadpool.
For the prices we are paying, should we just not have an opinion and settle for whatever they put out? I find the opinions on here to be objective from people that are actually in the hobby and have the money to buy! I feel like I would have accepted the comic theme without the, ahem, "baby deadpool" Jar-Jar Binks type "cutesy" call-outs. Just make Deadpool like Deadpool- in your face, adult jokes and insults, and put in all the extreme stuff he says/does
NOTHING that Deadpool stands for is clean or "kiddie" IMO- that's what makes him unique!
I feel like I've "been here before" with trying to accept a title- I remember Avengers with the horrid call-outs. Movie art, but fill-in voices. Why!?! Should have gone one way or the other. Didn't make sense.
X-men. Killer art based on comics. But again, horrid call-outs and voices. Could have been so much more.. kind of like Avengers lol. Is it a coincidence that Gomez made Avengers also? Not sure. But again, things just don't feel right with the pin.. or as good as they could be.
And you're right, I am voting with my wallet, I cancelled my order.

Its just a number. 1.0 or 4885776868.33.3. Doesn't really matter. The better question is, how good is the code at release? Based on previous releases, they are decent, but much more will eventually come. They are still adding modes and features to most of the currentish games. This one wont be any different. People will write it off for whatever reason after playing it once at launch. Give it 6 months of code updates before its even worth asking how good the code is IMHO.
0.85 was the code at the stern factory release video

THANK YOU.
On the H2H podcast, Tanio wasn’t allowed to say the code number only that he had more work to do. He also said they were working on balancing the scoring and that may come from changing some rules around lil Deadpool MB (even mentions Jack taking advantage of it during stream when they asked him to drain). A few other things mentioned:
-Super Boom button that spots ALL shots (if u don’t use the boom button for 4 qualifications for example, risk/reward)
-disco ball in LE/premium will reflect on walls of the room if lights are low during the disco mode
-no video modes
-will not be r-rated. Order of raunchiness to Pg...Movies, comics, pin
-still working on multiple levels of super jackpots within MBs
-“weapon” inserts light when a combo is available, increases weapon jackpot at the scoop
-eventually, certain team ups will be more valuable depending on the villain you’re battling (this sounds really cool and adds level of strategy/mode selection)
Lots of other good stuff in the podcast revolving around more in depth rules discussion and more to come. Def worth a listen!

Lil Deadpool is Widdle Wade. He’s in the comics. The only difference is the name (probably bc) Widdle Wade only speaks Japanese and Lil Deadpool speaks English. You should read the comics. It’s a similar comedy style, albeit the profanity is expressed as #$!@*.
Quoted from Melhadmj:-will not be r-rated...
...because Marvel asked for a Family friendly pin. (According to the interview.)
So there's no chance for an R-Mode I think, if the license holder doesn't approve.
I’ll admit, it being PG is kind of a downer. JJP is dedicated to the “family friendly” thing so we will never see anything edgy from them, so it’s kinda on Stern to fill that in.
I guess there’s still Spooky for that.

Maybe you have to bring human sacrifices for Sterns next SLE.
So this depends if Stern want a bunch of unlicensed mods out on site or if they want to put a bit more effort in and get it mostly right. Not looking for a potty mouthed game but more is needed.
Balls in your court, Stern.

Hoping to have it in the lineup this week! Waiting for the call from Melissa! Cointaker is always awesome and has games early.

We allways get them "sent" first, but ships are usually slow...
About 2 more weeks till the game drops here regulary.

I am now dumber for reading this comment Aurich. You get on and say the same crap over and over. People on pinside like to complain, make comments, judgements and give kudos where they say fit... its a bloody forum buddy. I much prefer positive and some negative discourse around games than somebody getting on and stating the obvious that pinsiders are whingers, and the old chestnut if you don't like it don't buy it. Having a strong cohort of whingers on each thread is part of the hobby.
I didn't like the stream... so what? some people prefer the movie over the comics... and? If their comments are personal opinions not personal attacks then what is the problem? moreover what is your problem. Nothing new here for pinside on this thread.
How about I state the obvious to you now... if you don't like comments on here don't read em... Your attitude is insulting and you're assuming your peers on here are dumb and require being told the obvious... again and again on a variety of threads with no real positive or negative input into the discussions.

I don't have a dog in this fight, so I'm taking no sides. I liked the stream, but it wasn't perfect. So what? The art is great. The shots look good and diverse. The rules seem interesting, if unfinished. The display interaction, 80's - 90's fighting game premise, is different and engaging.
I do think that they still have some work to do with rules and display integration to really tie it all together, and they said as much. Comic vs movie isn't important as long as whichever they choose is done well.
But I have to admit, I love all the bitching that goes on at Pinside. Sometimes I agree and sometimes I don't. It's the enthusiasm that really makes it worthwhile. The irony of bitching about a post where someone is bitching about other posts is priceless.
Quoted from Aurich:They shoot a video with gameplay and include a whole tutorial about how to play the game and it's "waaaah, you're spoiling the rules!
I didn't want this to get lost in my previous post, so I made it separate. I think Aurich brings up a good point here. What's the thinking on rules in general?
Personally, I'd prefer a rulesheet that's put out by the development team from A to Z. Leave a few Easter Eggs and hidden "combos" to discover, but give me more than the basics. Do you like to stumble thru a game and learn the rules as you play, or would you rather have them spelled out, like Tim tried to do in the video?
Just watched MN_Pinball on Twitch get 2.6B on a stream tonight. He completed the game. Lit Mr. Sinister, shot the scoop, got 300M points and the mode ended. I assume the full wizard mode will come in a code update. Hope they also add something for completing T-Rex, Meg and Sauron. Those mode just kind of end without any fanfare. Also hope they reduce Lil' Deadpool callouts/animations.

Serious question, is MN_pinball still calling it a filler title?
Quoted from DCFAN:Serious question, is MN_pinball still calling it a filler title?
I only caught the end of the stream. Didn't hear him mention it. He said he played it for five hours and enjoyed it, said it's a fun game with good shots, just needs some updated code to polish it up.

Nice, 4.35 to 4.37... Dude with a vape pen shows up in the background at the state fair and we get to see Mr. Sinister for a brief moment in the game. PRICELESS!
Shots are great. The "geometry" is spot on - every shot feels like it's where it should be. For this reason it's fast flow-y for a Gomez game. Its a fun layout. Code is still early and needs some depth, but has potential.

i agree of course...
but in the same time, these shoots are all "no risk", i'm a bit afraid this game will be to...easy for good players, games on it will last long for sure
too long !? we will see

There’s a little bit of risk on the Lil drops - direct hits can get a nasty rebound occasionally. But yeh, mostly safe shots.

Yeah, the "it's a forum!" response is quickly becoming the lamest and most rote, eclipsed only by the godforsaken cargument.
