I own both. They are two of the most beautiful looking, best sounding and uniquely layed out tables in all of pinball.
I’ve never wanted to love a game more than Ghostbusters. It’s a dream theme and has the best production and toys Stern has ever done. However, it is a complete pile of shit. The scoring is criminally unbalanced, the right ramp is an abortion, the captive balls don’t make any sense and the code has more holes than Julius Caesar.
Deadpool on the other hand has a clunkfest right orbit that half the time drops clumsily into the shooter lane, probably the lamest interactive bash toy I’ve ever seen hamfisted into a game, and a primary ramp shot that is known to reject if not set up just perfectly. It’s also a complete blast and I can barely pull myself away from it. Multiballs can be constant, battles feel like long form hurry ups, the callouts are hilarious and the animations are the most unique applied to a LCD yet.
Deadpool is the better game, and it’s not even to 1.0 yet so it has room to further improve. Ghostbusters has had ample time to prove its shortcomings, neglect to improve on them and even have the programmer promise us that there is no hope for major revisions.
