Had the exact opposite experience with the one I played, but that was at a dealers and freshly dialed in by a good tech team. In fact first thing I thought was how smooth and “un-clunky” it was. The geometry felt spot on.

Awesome. I'll find another one to try.

One thing is for sure, chimichanga punch cards need to be in every game going forward forever.

Quoted from jar155:

I need to know if the one I played was particularly problematic or if the game is really this...clunky. For those that have played, fill me in on whether or not these things are common:

I think that DP might have been set up sloppy. I remember back in the day a place called Reciprocal Skateboards on E 11th. The floors there were so torn up and not leveled. Many of the machines would play clunky/sloppy because of it. Regardless, that place made me shoot better and be a better player towards other games in better conditions. Kinda like playing Hercules for 30min and then playing AFM or something similar to it.
I loved Reciprocal and miss it a ton.

The little nagging, long, tight shots on DP reminds me of the shots in Spirit. It’s cool to watch others play and root for clean Katana lock shots for them.
Also, maybe it was just me, but where the Wolverine figure and spinner is on the playfield gives off a giant glare that is hard to aim for at time. It might have just been the lighting but that is what I noticed after a bunch of games.

I was expecting clunk based on past Gomez Stern games but that wasn't the case at all. My suspicions are that KME may have given him an assist in making sure the shots are smooth and that it flows well. The loop to left orbit shot and collossus mini loop feel like something that could have been inspired from Iron Maiden.

Right on both counts! Most of my pinball playing was done in the late 80's to mid 90's. Until I bought my machines I hadn't played a game made in the 2000's. And I've never fixed anything. Adjusting flippers and tweaking the Warp Ramp exit on ST are about the extent of my maintenance so far.
I'll have to see how it plays once I can finally get on one. From the video I've seen, it looks pretty good. We'll both have to wait and see!

I've been so busy I haven't even seen video of the game yet. I'm an embarrassment to pinball right now. lol. Maybe tomorrow sitting around being lazy with my wife we'll pull up the dead flip video lol

All designers have games that are winners and losers. I certainly was not a fan of Transformers or Avengers, but many people love Transformers.
I love many G Gomez games including BM66, BDK, LOTR, JM, and a minor hit called Monster Bash.

I’m really happy with Deadpool so far and hoping it continues to get better.

#206 5 years ago

I got my game and just set it up. Few things out of the box.

Boom switch not working, had to adjust switch, no big deal.
Left edge of the glass is rough, to the point I could see getting cut if not careful.
Lock shot bricks into the pops about half the time, will have to figure that one out.

strange, as TF is more than a MB cut & paste (half down just the same, half up simply mirrored)
and again, this DP is clearly "Avengers 2.0 - the GG revenge" (lol)...

I also find the lock shot rejects a lot of shots, and the ball ends up in the shooter lane way too much.

#209 5 years ago

Got to play a bunch of games this week.
First impression, you need to have direct calculated shots because slop won't be rewarded at all.

Is it just me or do people wish there was some sort of controller to play these STERN renderings of Marvel characters?
So similar to the Capcom characters.

I must say I like this playfield layout. Plenty of clean shots and returns. The bonus multiplier shot is a challange. My only hesitation about buying one is the game is shallow. Battle boss by shooting spinners and go for one of the easy multiball modes.

New code looks and sounds good and really nice touch from Tanio adding a mature content setting.

Allows owners to make their own hard R rated version of the game and simply turn it off when the kids are around.

Anyone with easy access to Pinball Browser able to checkout what content is in the mature content??

I thought there was to be no adult setting or call outs? Was this just a rumor that turned out not to be true?

#214 5 years ago

Game still has a long way to go in the code department. Still think it needs some thing to up the excitement

#215 5 years ago

Anyone else add a Shaker motor? Is there code for it? Should be obligatory at this point.

#216 5 years ago
Quoted from LoveNeverDiesGuy:

Will there by an official STERN topper for DP? There seems like so much is going on already with the playfield and back box. I know there will be an LP and cassette tape, but just wondering if there will be a topper or other MODS that were announced by STERN?

It pays to be on Facebook.2018-08-31 22_24_35-Pinball Paparazzi - Home - Internet Explorer (resized).png2018-08-31 22_24_35-Pinball Paparazzi - Home - Internet Explorer (resized).png

Gomez told me personally there will be no adult mode (I still have the email) and that Deadpool is family friendly, also said I could share the info so I did, maybe he and Stern had a change of heart after seeing the demand from the community?

Shaker not in code yet, it will be.

Menu says camera Roll On/Off?
Will we see selfies with deadpool?
Perhaps a camera in the topper similar to what JJP does. What else could this mean?

#220 5 years ago

Had a chance to play thia at VUK in DC. I really want to like it, but it is feeling a lot like Avengers. Beautiful game, but even having as much time as I wanted on the table, I kept leaving it to play Maiden, GoT, etc.

Same, I have it direct from GG that Marvel didn’t want adult content. I sure hope that changed as well!

Yeah I hope this adult content option means they will be putting in a few risky sentences and insults for us while playing.

But even if it’s a PG13 adult mode, it’s still handy as all those callouts can be replaced with R rated callouts and then simply switched off in the options nice and easy when the family pop round.
