Hello all.

I am thinking about pulling the trigger on DP Premium. I just was playing one on location and the only thing that I didn't love was the U turn (Collossus) and the Wolverine spinner shot both were somewhat not smooth or difficult to hit, not sure if that was just the game that was not set up or if this is the way these shots are.

#9814 2 years ago

Advice on pro vs premium.

Drops vs stand ups?

Full orbit shot how big a deal is this???

Thanks

#9816 2 years ago
Quoted from RipleYYY:

if you wanna keep money for something else, DP is more than enough & already very good in PRO

It’s not the cost I’m trying to find one in stock.

#9821 2 years ago
Quoted from RobT:

It's a big deal *to me*
You really need to play for yourself to confirm. But the left orbit shot is one of my favorites shots on the pin. Love how it goes all the way around on the premium/LE, very satisfying to hit repeatedly. You lose that on the pro with the ball dumping into the pops.

Noticed on the pro today the ball was falling back into the shooter lane from the PF at the R orbit, does this happen on the premium too?

Anyone waiting on the Dead Pool Rerun in December?

Quoted from SirMachismo:

Impatiently waiting for December!

I am thinking about it.

Wanted to ask here if the premium is worth the upgrade?

I am thinking of 1) ramp loop on premium and 2) drops on premium. I don't really care about the extra action figure or disco ball so just curious if the pro is just as good or if the premium for the two aspects I listed.

What are your feeling on the drops v stand ups? Very important or not that important??

Quoted from lpeters82:

Deadpool is so f'n amazing. It's seriously the game that has grown on me the most. The more I play it the more I like it. I'm trying to define exactly what makes the rules so good.
A) A sense that I'm always close to starting something new, so every drain is frustrating, in a good way.
B) Shots rarely feel wasted. During normal gameplay almost ever shot seems like it's building towards something.
C) The battles modes all feel similar in theme, but have a good variety of shots.
D) I can see exactly how I'm progressing during the battle modes.
E) Hurry-ups are used well and that heartbeat provides a great sense of urgency.
F) There are name entering opportunities beyond just high score. Keeps me interested even when not having the best game.

Hey.

I’m debating to buy DP and thinking about the code now. Just curious what hurry ups you are referring to? I read the rules can’t recall anything major hurry ups.

#10188 2 years ago
Quoted from maffewl:

I think lpeters82 is referring to the final blow shot during a battle. When the character is out of power but there is a small amount of time to hit the scoop to finish them.

thanks, now I understand.

How big is it?

#10229 2 years ago

I put a deposit on DP premium. Just curious I’ve seen a lot of reviews saying DP is extraordinarily good. I’m trying to decide between DP and Elvira HoH.

I’d get DP premium over the pro because I like drop targets as well as the complete left orbit shot.

I’d say tho Elvira has more toys (physical ball locks, subway, house diverter, lift ramp) but is a standard fan layout, DP feels like a different layout with the cross table ramp and mini orbits.

#10235 2 years ago

This is mostly why I didn’t buy Halloween or Ultra-man although I love Spooky pins, but I wanted to have a firm idea of what I was getting. With both DP and Elvira I’ve played at least 100 times each. Enough to understand them how they shoot their strengths and weaknesses but not enough to get deep into the nuances that is possible in a home environment.

The more I play DP the more I like it.

#10244 2 years ago
Quoted from KornFreak28:

Debating between a Pro and Prem. Seems LE’s are not being offered anymore? What are the main differences? Never played one before

Pro has DEAD POOL as stand up targets and premium has drop targets.

Pro left orbit stops at upper roll over area into pops every time.

Premium has a special drop ramp that allows left orbit shot to feed the right flipper.

Two dolls on the premium and a disco ball.

Premium has one extra mode Disco loops that is not on the pro.

I think both are great and pro is 95% as good but if you want the full experience the premium is probably a tiny bit better.

Likely you can be happy with either. I own a lot of pro pins like TWD and Met pro but going DP premium mostly because of the full loop shot.

#10249 2 years ago

Cointaker had 2 premium spots left. $1k refundable deposit. I’m sure most dealers have some but I’ve learned from BM66 they can sell out of pre order supply.

#10251 2 years ago

How hard is it to fix the ball guide so that it doesn't dig into the PF?

#10274 2 years ago
Quoted from joelbob:

I agree the pro art is the best. That is why I might upgrade to a premium and redecal the cabinet…

I think I'll just buy a pro trans light for the premium, my pins are lined up tight.

I almost wonder why Stern didn't do this at the factory the game has been in production for a while you would have thought it would have been a running fix.

#10693 2 years ago
Quoted from MasterBlaster:

I cancelled my BM66 order for this very reason. I was already pushing my budget limits when the last increase came down, so the more I heard that production was going to get pushed to end of year the more I was concerned that it would get pushed again to first quarter and subject to the latest increase. That’s just too much for a game that quite frankly just doesn’t have as much in it as the new premiums do. It killed me to cancel, as BM66 is one of my dream machines…but my dollars only stretch so far these days.

Interesting. I have both BM66 and DP premium on order. But I got in on Godzilla LE so one or the other of BM66 or DP for me.

I have to choose one, that’s tough, DP seems to be more common and may well be in production longer so I’m probably going to get BM66 but I go back and forth. One thing that has be interested in BM66 is the complex rules with minor Villians and CG target shot to increase shot values.

I’ve played DP a lot and while it’s probably a better layout than Batman the rules don’t grab me as much.

#10694 2 years ago
Quoted from UCFKnight71:

Thanks for the tips everyone! There’s no doubt I’m having fun with the machine. Right after posting, I played a little bit and got over 215,000,000. Still not amazing, but finally beat my high score. The timing was definitely ironic! Getting the ninja multi ball was the factor I think.
I don’t have the machine set to restart a game, so when I have a bad first ball, I have to live with it. I figure on location, that’s the way it’s going to be, so I might as well get used to it. Now if only I could consistently nail that left orbit shot!

Stick with 3 balls per game. That way your bad games don’t last too long. But you might think about setting an extra ball at a high point setting like 100M points (fixed) so if you do have a strong game you can keep it going a bit longer but the crap games you don’t have to prolong like if you had a fixed 5 ball every time.

Just curious, have a lot of people got to the end of the game? I’ve seen Jack Danger did, wondering how impossible it would be.

#12535 1 year ago
Quoted from DudeRegular:

Yep, I have beat it twice. I have been to the end another time or two where I drained out. Certainly attainable in my opinion. Its next to my Metallica where I have not even sniffed End of the Line.

Good to know. I’m not anything special as a player only go to Four Winds Wizard mode one time on Potc (14 years and counting). But I’d like to have something that’s out of reach but not impossible to do (impossible like JP or SW seem to be).

In case you wonder. I do some more of my handles and if I saw that correct here on Pinside it costs you only 5 dollar more than this, including shipping from oversea. You would also be able to change the Colorfilters 8 Colorfilters included.
My material is tested shockproof.
And I don't start the conversation about the designe. The only thing you need to have is a bit of patient because It takes a bit of time to do them.

I can’t see how to order one.

DP newbie questions. Please be gentle! :]
I'm looking to trade one of my games for a NIB DP Prem.
1. I've never pursued new games to know what the expected real street price is. I just see $9k MSRP for a Deadpool Premium. What's a typical real distributor price?
2. I've played DP only a little, & I watched a few videos. It needs to be family/wife friendly to go in my house. I know the DP comics & movies are rather raunchy & violent, but from what I've seen, the game seems pretty tame & mild. Is that correct? Is there a family/adult setting?
3. The Pro translite art is a little tamer & would go over better w/ the family. What's a good place/price for a Pro translite?
4. I've never bought a new game--does DP typically need certain tuning, adjustment, fussing, or investment to get up & running smoothly? (Flashback to Avengers, where I was the 2nd HUO owner & recall it needing so very much tweaking & tuning to get the ramps & shots to flow nicely.
Thank you!
-Jason

I bought DP premium but picked up a pro translight, think it look better without the burritos.

$120
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07Y433JW2

Typically price for a DP premium is $9k from a distributor but they’re not any available. So market price is going to be even higher.

Quoted from Smack:

As noted the Bowen PAPA tutorial is not great. They usually do such a good job but I felt they barely scratched the surface on this one.
Couple of general tips here to help you.
TEAMUPS
-----------
Qualifying teamups before you start Battle's will help you out a LOT. To qualify a teamup hit its corresponding shot twice (Left Orbit = Dazzler, Right Orbit = Domino, Center Spinner [opto behind it] = Wolverine, Inner Horseshoe = Colossus). Subsequent qualifications for the same character will require an additional shot.
Dazzler will add time
Domino will do bonus damage depending on the shot/boss
Wolverine will do 2x damage
Colossus will provide 2x scoring
In addition to those perks, if you shoot a qualified Team Up shot mid Battle it will give you a Team Up bonus as well as spot a shot towards completing that Battle. (ie: You bring Dazzler into a Battle with Mystique. If you hit the left orbit which is not a shot in Mystique's mode it will do damage because you brought Dazzler into the Battle.)
Still low on time and need to get another shot in? If your action button is flashing hit it to spot a shot in the Battle. I try to hold my BOOM's for Mech Suit, but if I have 4 stacked or I am in a bind I will peel one off to finish a battle.
DISCO MODES
-----------------
For your LE there are 2 modes. Disco Loops and then Disco Multiball. To qualify these, rip the Dazzler spinner when no other modes are running. ie: no battles, no quests, no beserker rage, etc. 60 spins will qualify the first mode (Disco Loops for you). Once that mode is complete another 120 spins will qualify Disco MB. Rinse and repeat adding on an additional 60 spins for the next mode (120, 180, 240...) which will alternate between Loops and MB (NOTE: Pro only has Disco MB so it does not alternate)
Disco MB is not a ton of points on its own but it is a good opportunity to grind out combos/weapons to progress you towards Mech Suit MB. It has some great callouts too.
I don't have a ton of experience with Disco Loops but it is a repeatable shot with that drop ramp in the LE/Prem that puts the ball back up on the Katana.
MINI WIZARD MODES
-------------------------
Sauron MB = complete all 3 battles
Megakrackaladonous Rex = complete all 3 battles + both quests
Clone MB = complete all 3 battles + all 3 of the Sauron Team Up Battles (these open up once you get through Sauron MB)
Clone + Megakrack = Final Wizard mode. Never been there personally. One day, maybe..
PLAYFIELD MULTIPLIERS
----------------------------
Wanna blow the score up on your game? Start dialing in the SNIKT shot and try to stack some multipliers while in multiballs, in particular Mech Suit. Multipliers are the key to big scores.
Every 100 weapons you collect will add a permanent a permanent playfield multipler. And I believe there is another you can qualify by completing Lil Deadpool Bounce
That is a lot to digest but there are many ways to play this game for score which helps to keep me coming back to it.

Thanks. I’ve heard some say this is a shallow game, I think that’s because the main 3 Villian battles are seen all the time. As opposed to other games like XM or Godzilla which have half a dozen or more battle type modes to choose from. But otherwise I think there’s still a lot of extras to play around with on DP. Sure it’s not Tspp or lotR deep but it’s got more than games like Tron for example.

I’m having the issue where strong hit to lil DP drops will brick and regular hits will knock them down.

There must be an adjustment, can someone assist?

Quoted from punkin:

Tron has nudged Deadpool out slightly as the best game i've played, with AFM bring up third.

I’m sorry I sold my Tron, they’re too hard to find now, but DP has filled its place in many ways. I mean it’s not Tron but there are things I very much prefer on DP. Sad that I can’t own them all but DP is kind of in the got to own it at some time club.
