Good day,

Finally got notice to pay off our preorder for our Deadpool Pro to ship soon, and just looking for some "new owner" advice. Got what I thought to be the "essential" upgrades coming already (ramp and plastic protectors, upgraded pop bumper caps, Disco Ball and Chimi truck + a few other small items) but curious what else we should be looking at Day 1. We own an AIQ and the movie music mod has been a game changer for us, is there a similar upgrade I should be downloading ahead of time for DP? Anything else a new owner should be aware of?

Very excited to finally play this machine in an atmosphere where we can hear the callouts, on location is always disappointing in that regard.

Quoted from JStoltz:

EDIT: Shaker motor!

Might just swap the one in my AIQ currently, doesn't seem to do much on that one unfortunately.

Just got tracking on our Deadpool Pro.

Hype hype hype!

Does anyone have a clue if the music mod will be available for the Pro model on the current firmware? The thread for it is mostly dead, and my wife is going to be sorely disappointed if we can't add the movie music to this one. The music mod for AIQ made it a whole new game for us.

Quoted from awesome1:

The music and callouts in Deadpool are great though. Have you had a chance to listen to it in a home environment?

No matter how good they are, my wife wants the movie soundtrack as an option on another SD card, and after experiencing that with AIQ I can't blame her, so I'm going to try and give her the option!

It's new pin day!

Patiently waiting for my wife to wake up so she can help me get it down the stairs to the basement now. The wait is excruciating.

Been playing my be DP Pro for a few hours and most times the Katana is releasing 2 balls instead of 1 when a ball goes up there but doesn't lock. How would I correct?

#12861 1 year ago
Quoted from Eskaybee:

There’s a setting (I believe in the Deadpool adjustments menu?) to adjust the timing of the coil. I would start there.

Didn't know this existed, will try to find it. Thank you.

The only setting related to this IC is "Lock Post Hold Power", is this what I'm looking for? Has anyone adjusted this with success and have a number I should target?

#12863 1 year ago
Quoted from Rob_G:

Virtual ball locks suck.
Rob

Depends. I vastly prefer the portal locks on AIQ instead of the rising and falling subway slowing the game down immensely, but the Katana lock is super cool.

#12865 1 year ago
Quoted from awesome1:

I love the physical portal locks on AIQ... need a breather every now and then with long game times.

To each their own, I definitely prefer the flow not getting ruined on that one. AIQ is all about getting in the zone for me.

Added some toys last night after playing for a bit. This really is just one of the most "fun" pins I've ever played. Love it.

The trough lighting addition was really the greatest quick mod of all though. What a difference.

After 2 weeks I'm having 2 "issues"

-when locked behind the drop targets, a large percentage of the time the balls release SDTM

-Similarly a large % of shots that come down the right katana shot go SDTM

Is this normal?

got my katana upgrade today from Lucxor and this thing is gorgeous. Not only that but unbeknownst to me he included stickers for my flippers, which look fantastic and where something I was in the market for anyway. Also threw in a cool Deadpool sticker, but pictures do not do this katana upgrade justice. I thought it was a nice upgrade but now that I've seen it in person next to the default one, I couldn't imagine going back. A++.

Quoted from Smack:

I believe the hard/fast hits to the drops is something that exists for all drop targets. No doubt the mechanism and how it is sitting could be adjusted some, but is sounds like this is somewhat common, especially for drops positioned so close to the flippers. Shots from the left flipper can hit those straight on and just bounce right off sometimes.
If it is happening a lot you could pull the mech and make sure there is a little bit of room behind the target and the cutout it sits in so that the targets literally have wiggle room. You could also turn down your flipper power but I don't feel you should need to.

Is there ever a time where the targets shouldn't be falling when you hit them? I had assumed during some modes perhaps they were supposed to stay in position when the light behind them wasn't lit up during certain modes, but if that's not the case this is definitely something that's happened to me quite a bit with them simply not falling when hit at times.

Can anyone tell me if there's ever a time during a mode the targets are supposed to stay locked up?

Finally got my new part for the katana ball hold and it fixed the issue entirely. Looks to be about a half inch longer than what it originally came with.

Glad that's settled.

New mirror blades look gorgeous. Highly recommend for this machine!

#13255 1 year ago
Quoted from CashMoney:

I wish pinball life would get their mirror blades back in stock… those are the easiest to install and don’t require and screws. Guess I’ll just keep waiting.

Hard for me to imagine anything easier than the Cointaker ones I just installed. Took 5 minutes.

Quoted from splickety_lit:

Gomez said they were left off the posts on purpose. Putting them on does make it easier.
I left mine off, I think it's more fun without them, and it's how the designer intended the game to play. But the rubbers are included with every new game.

Wasn't it more specifically that he decided to leave them off because operators were concerned games were going too long?

It seems like there's an issue with the alignment of my playfield/glass. It's always been tough to get back into position after moving it up to service, but I don't usually use the manual plunger so never noticed this. Tried another plunger to make sure it wasn't bent, but it doesn't sit right. Not sure if it ever did. Thoughts?
