Quoted from bent98:

I just got done modding the crap out of my DP Prem. I still have to add 2 more custom figures (Domino and Cable) and new coin door lights, but its 95% done.
I also made a custom Tournament button that's flush mount which I will be selling soon. I can;t believe Stern expects you to use the yellow one that is made for slot cut SAM and early Spike i.e. GB and AS, it sticks out 1/2 inch and looks terrible.
Steve and Pinball Refinery did the sword polish and powder coating for wire forms and external parts. I received everything in the mail in 1 weeks time frame. He coated my, TWD and MET too and even got me the rails that I wanted.

Well done. I picked up a DEADPOOL Premium last month and I'm having a having a blast modding it. The simple fact that you can pick up the MARVEL UNIVERSE 4" figures, run some 10awg to their feet and to a nearby screwhead makes it semi-cost efficient, too. In addition to the katana handle, the chimi truck fire, a shaker, a subwoofer, a shooter handle & plate, I've placed 6 extra figures on the playfield (T-Rex, Juggernaut, Mystique, Sabretooth, Colossus and Mr. Sinister. I didn't care to add the shark or Sauron and Domino and Cable don't come in the 4" size so I'm probably done after I add the Hellhouse.

...And the MVP mod in the bottom image: Pinmonk's gels.

Quoted from pinbuoy:

Tell this (Less than a week long new owner)
what mods you have installed that you like the most.
Thanks

My DPLE mods (purchased 10/2019)
(in no particular order)

1. Shaker motor (must have.)
2. Art blades
3. Pin Monk light brackets (must have.)
4. Chimichanga diecast truck (wasn't thrilled with, removed.)
5. Chimichanga flame
6. Textured katana handle
7. Polk SW-10 (must have for soundtrack)
8. 4" action figures (Juggernaut, Mister Sinister, Mystique, Colossus, Sabretooth)
9. 6" action figures: Three for top of back box (Cable, Domino, Sauron) and one for the top of the disco loop diverter (Deadpool in slippers.)
10. T-rex action figure
11. Plunger face plate
12. Shooter rod Deadpool head
13. Almost forgot: Cliffys. the shots come fast and furious on this one.

Thoughts about these mods: I normally wouldn't fill a game up with too many toys but this game begs for it! The playfield art is modeled after the over the counter action figures so they just slot right in, plus with the Premium, you're already starting off with two figures in scale (Wolverine, Dazzler.) If you're on a budget and just want a couple mods, I'd say get the shaker, the subwoofer and the light brackets.

In order to get Sauron, you have to go the Build-a-figure route (read: $$$) and essentially buy a bunch of 6" Marvel universe action figures you'll never use unless you re-gift them to your kids (check.) Each figure comes with one piece of Sauron so if you're a completist, you're in clover. However, one of these 6" figures -- Deadpool in repose -- actually fits perfectly on top of the disco loops diverter (left orbit) and because he's lying on his back, looking up at you, in kinda works. At least in the sense its not horribly out of scale.

This game rocks. The shots are immensely satisfying, the devil-may-care attitude shines through at every moment, the soundtrack is bad ass and you can just feel the love that went into making it. Enjoy it!

Help. I can't for the life of me figure out where this Cliffy goes...

Quoted from EternitytoM83:

That's the right half of the shooter lane protector.
(Note: Cliffy's pic, not mine. In my experience some mylar and turning down the trough eject power has been plenty of protection for that area.)

Thank you!

So the rubber ring behind the D-E-A-D drop targets snapped and I'm not sure what size it is. When I lay the broken ring on the size chart I'm *pretty sure* it's 3" (inner diameter) but it's so worn out and my judgment sucks for this kind of stuff so what's your guess?

When I went to the service manual, these particular rings are included in the greater illustration but they're greyed out without a designation/size.

These manuals are usually entirely comprehensive so my *guess* is these rings were classified as belonging to the Premium package's upgrade set (drop targets, disco ball, ramp return) and as such got lost in the shuffle. They also didn't show up in my Marco Specialties Rubber Kit for DP premium (buyer beware.)

Any help is appreciated!

Quoted from awesome1:

Hard to tell from the pic, but it does look like the size is on there!

You live up to your name, Awesome. Thank you! Yes, it says "2 3/4" on there. I'm guessing the ring on the P-O-O-L side is probably up to be changed as well, so I'll take it off to see if they're the same size. Well done!

Quoted from rapidflipper:

I am waiting on the illuminated drop target mod from Mezel, and can’t wait to see it all at once!

Mine came in the mail today... but with no installation instructions. A sticker on the packaging directed me to a dead link and the "install" button on the DEADPOOL ILLUMINATED DROP TARGETS page sent me to a URL that was an empty placeholder. Anybody know how to install this thing? (I sent a support request to MezelMods in the meantime.)

Thank you, wtatumjr ! I'll post pics when I'm done!

p.s. I'm loving the resurgence in Deadpool mods! I've stuffed mine full of blades, hammocks, trucks, "dolls" (lol), gels, katana handles, CPU coolers -- it's just such a "more is more" game and adding to it seems to lend itself to the whacky theme. Love this game!

I'm really enjoying the translucent knock down targets mod. I picked it up a couple weeks ago and while it took a little longer than I thought, installation wasn't too bad.

I wasn't looking forward to cutting, scraping off and then re-transferring the decals from the old drop downs to the new ones, I was fortunate to find some old decals in the coin-op which did the trick.

Quoted from JStoltz:

Is the Premium worth the extra $$?

I have a Deadpool Premium and a JJP Wonka Limited Edition. Both are considered the middle tier of the "Good", "Better," "Best" marketing tiers.

Personally, I don't give a whit about artwork, powder coating, autographed plaques, alternate voice tracks, etc. I just don't. Artwork from the Pro, to the Premium to the L.E. is all great and after two seconds I'm over it.

What does concern me, though, is the game itself. I think the disco ball mode (mech, software, light show, etc.) is really cool. I also like physical drop targets -- hitting something physical and having it disappear is part of the whole appeal of pinball for me. The ramp ball return to the right flipper is also cool in that its a mech that interacts physically with the ball.

In Wonka, it's a ball lock that holds the balls -- where you can see them -- above the playfield and puts on a big show when its time to release them, one by one.

The question that's always presented is: Is X upgrade worth $x,xxx.xx? The short answer is no. Of course not. But I would miss them if they weren't there. And my OCD would keep me up at night knowing there was more "game" available out there that I wasn't privy to. I just want the whole game and I make my purchasing decisions based on that.

But that's me and there's obviously no wrong answer. You can't miss it if you never had it and if the difference between the pro and the next tier is a dealbreaker than, of course, get what you can. This is a cool hobby especially if you're an 80s kid like me who grew up on coin-op vids at the mall and never gave pinball as much as a second glance. There's no bigger zealot than the newly converted, right?

So yeah, it makes sense for guys with routes to order pros because less things to go wrong means more money in the long run or people with limited funds. I totally get it. But if its in my game room, "Bolted to the floor" as they say? Hell, yeah, give me the whole game.

Quoted from c818919taylor:

So, Wonka or DeadPool?
In your option...

Oh man, don't do this to me...

Short answer: You can't go wrong with either.

Longer answer: Pound for pound, Wonka simply has more stuff (and cost more.) More flippers, bigger screen, more assets, deeper code. I also enjoy immensely the wifi upgrade and the fairly regular updates. It's clear the game is still being thought about at JJP. If it was a car, it'd be a late model Mercedes. It's just smooth and a joy.

Deadpool? Great shots, funny gags/riffs, easy-to-understand rule set, bangin' soundtrack, cool zombie yeti original art -- this game is Burt Reynold's TransAm. There's no great shot than ripping the katana after a full loop (ninjapocalypse!!!.) It's just "see ball, hit ball" FUN. And don't get me started on the modding possibilities -- I'm surprised it doesn't come with a kegerator underneath.

That looks great I assume the whole bank is lit up not individually?

Yes, the whole bank is lit from underneath by a single 3 inch(?) LED strip.
