How well do operators expect DP to do on location?

3 weeks later
#393 5 years ago

Awaiting mine this week to be on location by end of the week.

Quoted from Join_The_Cirqus:

After almost a week post rubbers are showing wear...

20180926_154128 (resized).jpg20180926_154128 (resized).jpg

20180926_154221 (resized).jpg20180926_154221 (resized).jpg

So I upgraded...

20180926_155647 (resized).jpg20180926_155647 (resized).jpg

Replaced near pops and near lil deadpool.

#548 5 years ago
Quoted from cpr9999:

Where did you get them?

Superband near pop bumpers.
Titan at lil deadpool.
Superband absorb more energy and titan have more bounce, so pick to your preference.

#567 5 years ago

Added Wolverine toy, quick install, drilled into plastic to toy would be best...

Almost no customers will notice haha.
Like I said I'll screw the figure into the plastic sometime.

Anyone else feeling the need to dial down the slingshot power?

#607 5 years ago
Quoted from Da-Shaker:

My Pro came in. Love it! My eject hole switch only works 75% of the time (for enemy select). What's the fix, bend the switch up? I tried that and it doesn't seem to help. Any suggestions?

The first run has a problem of no locktit on the 2 screws holding the switch in place, tighten and add locktite.

Is this a music pin in a way ? Was watching a vid and it seems to have alot of cool music....do you go feel the pro is the wsy to go or the prem ?
Thanks

I think its 11 songs on the soundtrack, groovy stuff.

20180929_133141 (resized).jpg20180929_133141 (resized).jpg

Is the Premium/LE Wolverine toy held up by black zip ties?

20180929_132111 (resized).jpg20180929_132111 (resized).jpg

#619 5 years ago
Quoted from Da-Shaker:

So tightening the screws didn't work for me. On my machine the switch just wasn't long enough. Maybe they drilled the screw pilot holes a little off. I needed to stretch the switch longer to reach the ball. Anyway, the switch broke while doing this, but luckily I had another one, stretched it out and now seems to be working fine. I'm thinking there's got to be a better switch that could fit into this location. Maybe the Star Trek Pro switch?

Photos please

#632 5 years ago
Quoted from ATLpb:

My DPLE has been on loc for a week. It easily set a record for most earnings in first week (by a lot). And that’s going up against ten other outstanding machines... whereas other new machines I installed were 1 of 6; 1 of 8, etc. as collection grew. I’m in a great loc for it, but still damn impressive.

What % better?
My dp pro did over 50% better in the 1st week than any other game has done in 1 week prior ever (unreal).

#671 5 years ago

So "perfect play" rings can't handle deadpool...

20181003_133933 (resized).jpg20181003_133933 (resized).jpg

P.s... that was with lowered slingshot strength setting!

#673 5 years ago
Quoted from chuckwurt:

Make sure not to use 2” rings. Try 2-1/4 or 2-1/2”

You're freaking hilarious!
They are 2.5"

#675 5 years ago
Quoted from chuckwurt:

Officially out of suggestions. Haha

This game has to handle high daily play so I just ordered a set of 2.5" super band rings so I just ordered a set from Marco.

#678 5 years ago
Quoted from chuckwurt:

Yeah I’d say those will hold up better. Pretty much anything else gets destroyed under high play unless you’re on it to rotate once a week.

Not true, black rubber lasts well even unrotated so does white rings, super band very very well and titan pretty good. I really like the stickiness and bouncing play of perfect play but they shred so quickly.

#691 5 years ago
Quoted from cscmtp:

Can someone confirm that the music on this pin is the same for Pro, Prem, and LE? I would love to know the songs lengths but so far crickets....

The LP should ship soon? (They've already had people ship them the L.E. proofs of puechase cards), cassette soonish? (I sure wonder how they sound) and "digital download sonetime before or after lp/cassette release? I would predict lp and cassette will start shipping prior to digital release, but my view is it should be free for Pro ownera now general public and all Pro owners should be shipped cds!

Looks good. If you don’t mind me asking where did you pick that up?

Ebay!
Look up the 3.75" ones.
I bought them loose as I didn't need the boxes.

#700 5 years ago
Quoted from Mahoyvan:

I added a new toy too - Shaker.
Works great, I love it!

Review it in this game please, I've yet to try it with one.

#759 5 years ago

Hey All!
Deadpool #2 checking in! Loving the game so far. George has outdone himself this time and Jeremy's artwork package is amazing. Happy owner, glad to be onboard this crazy chimichanga truck with you all!![quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

The #2 got me wondering, is it actual production #2 on the line or are numbers not mutually exclusive to when made.

#760 5 years ago
Quoted from John1210:

Buffed not waxed. I’ve never received a nib stern with waxed pf....

Stern doesn't wax games, that wouldn't make sense... they are clearcoated. P.S... it's fast enough out of the box to need any wax initially...

I think the background is new. Before starting a game it'll show a moving Deadpool theme on the dmd.

lol @ dmd

#916 5 years ago
Quoted from Mahoyvan:

Digital media display of course

New acronyms for the win!

#930 5 years ago
Quoted from wdpvideo:

Must be a Titan rubber. Mine bust all the time with excuses of why the product fails but no real fix. I can’t count the times I have put on flipper units not played a game went back the next day and the flipper rubber busted in half.

It was a perfect play brand ring...

#932 5 years ago
Quoted from NeilMcRae:

Here is a video of George's dead pool talk at expo, the end of the recording goes a bit funny (not sure why my screwup I think) but it give you the gist of it.

Very very good presentation.

Reviews and Suggestions...
This is for on location setup.

#1059 5 years ago
Quoted from chet218:

Code is at .95, correct? Does anyone know if Stern is planning on adding new content/modes to the game with future code updates or we now at the point of just polishing the current code?

Current is .95 I've heardof new things coming/not added yet, but to me... so far so good!

#1135 5 years ago
Quoted from mannymasy:

Yes, it is with the game field protector. I am disappointed that there are many balls in the air at all times, when we hit the left slingshot they jump towards the shooter. When hitting the targets of the sides, it also hurts very uncomfortable to play like that. ..
I like it. I like the music, the arts, the animations, the code. But it bothers me a lot the balls in the air, it seems that they are going to break something ... I hate that this happens in a game

Slingshot airballs are kinda common on default slingshot power setting, so lower power setting in menu to your liking.

#1150 5 years ago

Has anyone installed the hellhouse mod yet?

#1160 5 years ago
Quoted from Mahoyvan:

Looks awesome. And it'll be a lot easier to tell my buddies on the fly to hit the Hell House instead of:
The scoop
The what?
The hole
A hole?
This right he-... Never mind you drained.

Bingo!

Quoted from Ferrone:

I have a major problem!! My LE won’t fit under the Christmas Tree[quoted image]

Take photos of the box and put it under the tree folded on a small box as a mini version?

#1220 5 years ago
Quoted from cpr9999:

Can you turn down coil strength on slings?
Also what is pitch of playfield

You can change slingshot power in menu and you can physically adjust spacing of the leaf switch hitting the slingshot rubberi itself.

#1230 5 years ago
Quoted from Yelobird:

Any hopes of seeing a code update for DP yet this year? Loving the game just hoping to see some refinements.

They announced it in a panel once, 1.0 this year.

#1275 5 years ago
Quoted from Pinzap:

#1291 5 years ago

I've had zero airballs with Superband slingshot rings, granted I tend to keep my slingshot power lower.

#1301 5 years ago
Quoted from Yelobird:

Thats cause you have those mighty swords keeping the ball down! lol Did you do Superbands on the whole machine or just the slings? Never tried them as change doesn't always lead to good things but the Superbands have me intrigued.

Balls rarely hit the swords.
I selectively place superbands, on this game slingshots and superband a post near the pop bumpers, basically places with good amounts of action.

#1302 5 years ago
Quoted from mannymasy:

What are the superband?
I still have the problem with the katana lock. Leave all the volas instead of just one

Superband is a brand of flipper rubber and ring, thry are polyurethane. They last forever but kinda stiff.

Can't wait until tomorrow to update though...
So driving to bar tonight to install just before last call.
I still have the hellhouse and 3 more toys to install too, but probably just putting hellhouse in.

#1337 5 years ago

I've replaced balls once so far.

Quoted from cpr9999:

0.97 code just released, few fixes and tweaks to 0.96

But it works fine to me...

#1403 5 years ago
Quoted from jarch:

I heard they're targeting end of year for the tapes/albums for Prem/LE buyers - I would assume the download link for the soundtrack would come out around the same time. They really did a great job with the soundtrack on this pin IMO.

Tapes are in all premiums I've seen.

“Aiming for end December” - interpretation - means mid to end January.

On .96 my game was crashing at times... ugh...
.97 has been great, I finally cracked 500+ million.

#1433 5 years ago

Can somebodies tell Stern we need an option for comic speech bubbles of 4th wall deadpool pop ups?

#1442 5 years ago

#1488 5 years ago
Quoted from amkoepfer:

Has anyone had an issue with the new code crashing mid game? A friend told me not to install new code until next update due to the crash issue, but i wanted to see if anyone else has had issues

No probs with .97 yet

#1501 5 years ago
Quoted from Morhaus:

These are great. I’ve figured a lot of the same out. I just can’t figure out what makes bonus multipliers go up. And how long does play field multiplier last?
I’m sure the full code on this will be even better than now. I love it next to my xmen.

They look gooood together!

#1510 5 years ago

Patience is a Boom of a Virtue with this game!

#1511 5 years ago

Saving those BOOM@ for a 1 button Mystique mode feels sooo damn goood!

#1528 5 years ago
Quoted from DylanFan71:

I saw the shooter rod in the Stern store but no topper. Anyone hear if there's one on the way?

Some day...
Them not having one available day one is giving free business to the mod makers...

#1536 5 years ago

Watched one of my better player customers get 1 Billion today (Carl Reedy).

#1543 5 years ago
Quoted from cpr9999:

Nice mod PinMonk! Looks great!
(Color inserts on playfield now match back of game for each mode... trex, sabertooth, mystique, etc.)
You should develop multiple colors of multiple sizes and sell them one off.
Folks easy to install- looks good.
[quoted image][quoted image]

That is about proximity of where I was planning to install that same Juggernaut figure (someday with Mystique and Sabertooth I'm sitting on waiting for next code update. Can you post a photo of it from perspective of the whole game playfield?

#1557 5 years ago

Yes or No to shaker motor on a Pro?

#1593 5 years ago
Quoted from cpr9999:

Yuuuup
Even if signed by all Stern team plus Rob Liefeld...

#1613 5 years ago
Quoted from schudel5:

Here's what almost $600 looks like the first 2 weeks on location. Game should be paid off in 4 months! Best earner by far!
[quoted image]
[quoted image]

I have seen other DP pros do about $300 a week too

#1620 5 years ago

Deadpool pro is only seen as quite clunky to those who are mediocre pinball players. Pinball is like life... It requires skill.

#1686 5 years ago
Quoted from cpr9999:

I have LP for sale to highest bidder - just PM me.

My DP Pro on location is 75% to being paid off via earnings. If it really continues to earn like this I may get another and put the new one where the current one is and this one in a less busier place to be in semi-retirement.

#2102 5 years ago

As my PRO is thoroughly on the road to paying itself off (in very quick fashion relatively speaking), let it be known that it my experience in the last 7 years it is my top earner for a modern Stern hands down (or any that I've ever operated as well). Yes type of location, volume of customers and demographics are key, but in the future this machine will be relocated and I'll keep you guys posted on its future successes. Lastly as implied in the last sentence I really may get a 2nd one to put where the current one is but at the moment its holding up well.

I hate to say it, b/c I resisted for so long, but now all of my games have it. Huge difference. Yes it's expensive but I looked at the machines and said they cost 6k+ each and I'm sweating 300 bucks?

Great to hear, spread the word, people spend crazy money on toppers and silly vestigular mods but don't get that antiglare glass adds much more value to gameplay experience.

I'm really enjoying the translucent knock down targets mod. I picked it up a couple weeks ago and while it took a little longer than I thought, installation wasn't too bad.
I wasn't looking forward to cutting, scraping off and then re-transferring the decals from the old drop downs to the new ones, I was fortunate to find some old decals in the coin-op which did the trick.

I'm troubleshooting an issue with my katana lock post, and it turns out the problem is that the spring has worked its way halfway above the e-ring. My DP PRO is on the path to 50k on location.
Stern should give awards for plays on location milestones?

#13654 1 year ago
Quoted from Smack:

So after 50k plays what are the main issues you have encountered over the years aside from general wear and tear? Are there any specific areas that have needed more attention than others? How are your plastics holding up?
As a home owner with a few thousand plays on mine coil sleeves/stops are basically the only thing I have had to replace. Oh and replacing the post sleeves with something more durable, in particular the 2 around little DP. Those got chewed up pretty quick on stock but have held up very well since switching to the Super Band variety.

I did a whole superband ring kit and not one ring has shredded apart yet.
Always rotate the rings some that you can during each cleaning.
2 scoops switches have been replaced.
4 sets of coil sleeves and coil stops have been replaced.
The right ramp loop moves enough to chip the playfield art some.
The plunger lane will wear of mylar eventually.
The spring on the ninja ramp post will break in half eventually.
Also a few plungers have been broken as geniuses slap them instead of pull them on location...
Also some flipper buttons popped out so I just replaced them.
Nothing Major

It is sad that the garbage skinny red rubber posts have been
put on all deadpool games for the past almost 4 years.

Day one I'd do a full superband kit and they handle more plays than
any other product and don't dirty the playfield like black rubber.

The shooter lane will wear unless protected.

My only chipping was the lane divider in between the right ramp entrance and the right loop,
but after 40k+ plays its basically a beauty mark...

Rob Liefeld is done doing Deadpool work...

I am retiring from Deadpool. It’s official. Yup, after 33 years of not only introducing Deadpool but chronicling many of his most popular adventures it’s time for the Deadpool Daddy to say farewell. One of the fun parts about getting older is you can retire from things, so here I am. So I worked up one last crazy Deadpool yarn for the fine folks at Marvel and they responded with electric glee and I started producing it last month for release Summer 2024. I often wonder what my life would be like if I had not created and sold not just Deadpool, but Cable, Domino, Stryfe and many others to Marvel. What If young Rob hadn’t taken up the challenge of transforming a title that was headed towards cancellation is one of the better alternate universe tales. It certainly transformed my young career, creating opportunities and record breaking sales for New Mutants & X-Force. Creating and introducing the Deadpool Corps., featuring Lady Deadpool & Dogpool was a great function of my mid-life crisis during 2009. In 2015 I started Deadpool:Bad Blood, getting Deadpool his first original graphic novel, and his only chart topping, #1 ranking to date, an achievement that got me a round of congratulations from Marvel brass that pumped my chest out farther than Captain America’s! No other auteur has combined to write and illustrate more Deadpool work, I’ll complete this journey with over 1000 pages alongside my Mercenary Misfit. So, I’ll finish this one last Deadpool story, and trust me, it’s a wild one, and call it a collaboration for the ages. It’ll be fun! In case you are wondering, why now? That’s easy, I’ll be 57 at the end of this and my eyes are still functioning, the work continues to be strong, I want to go out with the best effort I can muster. The hand-eye coordination won’t be there forever. I’ll elaborate more on this on my next Robservations podcast and look forward to taking this journey with you, the world’s greatest fans, who have always provided the best support a cartoonist could ever imagine. And that, is saying something!
