Quoted from J85M:

I just logged on for the same reason, does anyone know if the steam is definitely going ahead tonight?

As far as I've seen, yes. It's been promoted. Still a little over an hour away. 4:30PM CT.

Quoted from sethi_i:

I'm on the fence between this and BM66. Was leaning to DP, and this really ups the ante. I like that they put this at .99. Makes me think that there's still more to come, and it will get even better.

BM66 might have a current code edge, but it’s SUPER clunky. Played it a bit this summer and thought the layout is pretty awful.

Anyone selling an LE or Premium that is local, let me know.

#2016 4 months ago
Quoted from Mike_McGrew:

Looking to sell my perfect condition DP LE w/ topper. Around 50-75 plays, mint condition - just not for me. PM me if interested. Looking for cash or trade for Bally Williams machines (+ or - cash if necessary).

Where are you located?

Quoted from Ben38:

Deadpool really seems to be a great pinball to play. And it is beautiful to see.
But we really doubt about this choice, because of the quality of wood of the playfield, for a 7K€ game.
When we see this kind of picture of a game less than 6-8 months old. It is the surface of the Moon :
Our Twilight Zone and our TSPP are 25 & 15 years old. And they really don't have this kind of problem.

It looks fake. I hope it's fake. Jeez that looks bad.

#2081 4 months ago
Quoted from thunderking50:

hey guys , thinking of getting a Deadpool Pro soon , i played about 20 games on software 0.99 and it's awesome
question : Cleland making a sound / voice replacement for deadpooL ?

No I don't believe so. Covered it sometime ago. You're stuck with the guy Paul Lynde.

Quoted from vireland:

It's MUCH more prevalent on Sterns now. MUCH. And before they used to give you a replacement. Now you get an "as designed" line and no replacement. More Stern cost-cutting, this time on PF wood and prep comes home to roost. At least the craters will eventually make it less the focus of attention...

Truth, Monk. Truth.

#2476 3 months ago
Quoted from StoneyFL:

I got a call back from the distributor who sold me my Deadpool. They said the warranty was 2 months on this part, and I've had my machine for almost 3 months. They are going to do what they can, but said Stern may not cover the failed assembly. Seriously? If they don't make it right then that's shitty on about 10 different levels. It shouldn't even be a question.
If Stern doesn't do the right thing and replace the coil and vertical upkick assembly (maybe $15 their cost) which failed after less than 3 months of home use, then I'm done with Stern. It's not the money, it's the principle.

I agree with that. How is the play field holding up? Is there wood grain? Dimpling?

#2490 3 months ago

Switches go bad all the time. Hell, with my LOT I replaced the VUK fork switches a dozen times at least. Lugs don't commonly break off switches unless the switches are cheap or there's some heavy vibration in that area.

#2550 88 days ago

I looked at a premium this week with 150ish plays and it looked like it had over 1000. It's disappointing since I want this pin but new Stern play fields are disappointing.

My TSPP is fantastic still after thousands of plays.

IMG_4824 (resized).JPG
#2618 83 days ago

Owners, how are your playfields holding up? Seeing a Ghostbusters that’s in rough shape locally and a Deadpool with 125 plays and big craters has me worried. I really want this pin though. It's #1 on my list.

#2643 81 days ago
Quoted from marksf123:

are there still DPLE's available?

I know of 1. I'm contemplating but I really like the Premium art better. Getting deal on a shaker and PDI. I don't care about speakers, art blades, pseudo-mirror backglass, etc, so it's hard for me to justify $1300 more than I'll be shelling out for the premium w/mods.

#2686 79 days ago
Quoted from marksf123:

After a lot of thought I decided to go with the Pro. I never got a chance to play the Premium but I did get to play the pro and liked it a lot so I should still like it. I dont think I had the issue with the right rail and the ball falling into the shooter lane as discussed here but I dont remember. Buying the Pro does leave me some funds. I also like to add some Mods my games so that is going to make the premium pretty expensive. Also this gives me some pretty good extra money if I want to buy a BKsor Pro. I have that game on my short list too. The one think I think I will miss is that I really like the DP Premium cabinet but I realized I dont really check out the cabinets that much once they are in my gameroom.

I played the Premium today at Allentown and had a huge 2nd ball. Finished w/ about 500,000,000 and 1st place score at the time. Really liked it and was prepared to walk out with the Premium but now I’m second guessing it. I never got Disco MB so didn’t see it and the diverter on functioned a few times. Also a ball went into the shooter lane at least 3 times. Drops are fine but not a necessary upgrade.

Hmmm. It’s definitely not a flow game though. It’s more pick a shot, control the ball, shoot again game.

#2744 75 days ago

Woohoo! Setting up my Deadpool LE as we speak!

#2775 74 days ago
Quoted from Pinzap:

I suspect it’s a bug. Hopefully corrected soon.

Yes it’s a bug. Strange for that to miss QC since it’s so prominent.

#2776 74 days ago

I got (un)screwed here. Any thoughts where this might be from?

Quoted from Morhaus:

Check the Lil Deadpool. Should be two screws.

Quoted from durgee7:

Also check top of chimichanga bus, and back of playfield at the megalodon upright display.

Found it! Side of Katana handle. All good. Appreciate it!

#2797 73 days ago
Quoted from RobT:

This was as amazing sequence by Zach during this one ball. Nailing one shot after another, really showing how fast DP can flow:

Insane ball. 53,000,000 bonus. I've gotten 10 before. Not million. Just 10.

#2800 73 days ago
Quoted from estrader:You install the correct update?

Maybe accidentally installed Pro code?

No drop targets or lift ramp on pro.

#2806 73 days ago
Quoted from vireland:

How hard would it be for the updater to make sure it's installing the correct package? This happens WAY too often.

Like 5 lines of code even if you are inefficient with it.

#2811 73 days ago
Quoted from nicknack66:

I see what you mean. I had weird Lil Deadpool like others here with the update. Lil Deadpool muti-ball worked fine, but then Lil Deadpool Frenzy started prematurely. T-Rex was better, but game felt a little "off" to me. I would imagine this will be fixed soon, and thankfully the updates now save the high scores and settings so it makes the updates that much easier.

I've ONLY been on 1.01. Not fully sure what issues exist or not. Has anyone reported these to Stern?

#2835 72 days ago
Quoted from Blackzarak:

Does anyone else get the following glitch after the update? The top 4 selectors you pick with the flippers before you plung the ball dont light up, and evently will light up after 2 or 3 plunges I lift the playfield and check and push In all the connections and it still happens?? Never had this issue before until this new update or it just so happens to start anyone had similar thing
[quoted image]

I don’t.

#2846 71 days ago
Quoted from Eskaybee:

What chuck said above. But if you contact Chas at stern and explain to him the problem, he’ll more than likely send you a couple new ones.

Chas is awesome. My glass from the LE was scratched from the factory. Sent pix.

Received game Wed. New glass arrived today.

#2862 71 days ago
Quoted from Buckman:

Joined the Deadpool club today! The LE sure is a nice looking package and can't wait to get playing it!
[quoted image]

Welcome! Such a good game. I stressed long and hard about it. Glad I made the plunge (pun intended). LE is beautiful. My favorite Playfield art EVER.

#2890 70 days ago
#2922 68 days ago

I’m at 6.7. Had the ball fall off the ramp 2-3 times. Not nearly enough to warrant doing something about.

#3002 62 days ago
Quoted from marksf123:

Does anyone have a pic with either the Stern or Laseriffic topper on their game that they want to post. I am trying to decide.....

Laseriffic doesn’t stand behind their product. Go with anything but them. I got burned.

#3009 62 days ago
Quoted from RobT:

The sounds on Wonka would drive me insane.

The stream sounds I've heard on Wonka are just not good. It kind of sounds like a casino, with slot machine jackpots going off in the background everywhere, but for kids.

#3018 61 days ago
Quoted from Eskaybee:

Update; I’m back up to 7.2 lol. Started at 7.2 per nimblepin suggestion, dropped it to 6.9 which I thought played smoother but not with trap + shoots, went up to 7.0 which was really good but liking the balance that nimblepin recommended with 7.2.
FWIW; I haven’t noticed a difference with the Snikt shot, no matter what the pitch is, that shot is tough as nails.

Mine's at 6.8 and plays great. The Katana lock is fantastic. The Snikt shot is practically impossible, but I've hit it. Clever shot.

#3029 60 days ago
Quoted from TKDalumni:

Has anyone come close to this yet?? If so, please send strategy! [quoted image]

Yeah but he didn't "match," so...

#3154 55 days ago
Quoted from vireland:

Same boat here. The answer is yes.

Agreed! Sounds are fantastic. Really bring the theme alive. I’m no comic book guy. Love this pin though!

#3163 55 days ago
Quoted from RobT:

Well, if everything goes according to plan, I will finally have my DPLE arriving later today.

#3183 52 days ago
Quoted from delt31:

Joining the club Weds. Played this game when it first launched and thought cool unique layout but the code didn't sit well. Fast forward played it recently and loved it. Looks like they brought it all together and even though I wanted to stick with the pro, after playing both recently, I needed that left orbit right flipper butter.
That being said what are the must haves for new owners?
Def getting Shaker and side blades just don't know what kind

I went LE b/c the upgrades proved worth it, but since they play the same, it's just a fantastic pin. It's different than the norm, but not significantly. The Disco Loop, drops, and disco ball are worth it for sure. Just pure fun, where you don't have to fight the machine all the time.

#3337 40 days ago

Did anyone ever get the super secret skill shot? Holy crap it's awesome. Lucked into it, I admit, but now I know at least.

#3375 36 days ago
Quoted from vireland:

It's a semi-hidden directional LED behind the turnaround of the left short ramp. You can see the location on page 19 of the manual.

There’s an LED on the back of Dazzler and another the side of Wolverine that both illuminate the Disco ball if I remember correctly.

#3396 35 days ago
Quoted from gliebig:

I did the same. All the extras make it really shweet.

Same here!

#3443 31 days ago
Quoted from mbrave77:

I actually really dont like the shaker on this game. I installed it and quickly turned off. It goes off way too much and just annoys me!

Stock shaker? I love my LE.

Quoted from drizzt76:

I can't stand Stern's cheap shooter rod. I replaced my broken stock JJP DI shooter rod with a Chrome Candy and now I can't stand the plastic flat shooter knob on my DP. Anyone else just replace the shooter rods because they feel so cheap?

Nope. Never crossed my mind.

Quoted from vireland:

Ouch. Salt in the wound of a bad trade. Thoughts and prayers for you.
My worst trade was a NOB Vectrex with most of the games with complete boxes and instructions/overlays for a used refrigerator. We needed the refrigerator because ours died, but if I could take that one back (from like 30 years ago!) I would.

Oh man. Vectrex was THE game system I always wanted. I’d play for hours at a Sears while the crappy family car was getting tires/battery/muffler etc at Sears Auto Center. Mom never approved of it sadly.

#3553 21 days ago
Quoted from miga:

So there are no rubbers on the outlanes is this correct? I thought they must have forgotten to put them on?

Intended. Plays too long w/them

#3559 21 days ago
Quoted from jokerpoker:

Both great games. I’m not a Metallica fan even though I like the game. DP was the better choice for me and I think it is better. The LE is awesome.

Different animals.

I had MET for 3 years before I got burned out. It’s a great pin. Shoots smoother overall than DP but Since you’re looking at a Premium, y’all get more flow. It’s more repetitive than DP overall, and DP code is more interesting.

#3568 21 days ago
Quoted from delt31:

As someone that owns dp, met and imdn I'm curious to hear your thoughts. I feel like imdn is the next evolution of the met design. You feel like it warrants owning both bc I love met too but it reminds me of owning AFM and mm. Maybe too similar?

Maiden is better shooting game. MET is a better bashing game. I think they're different. I like Maiden's code more. I miss it more than MET, but Maiden is VERY forgiving.

Quoted from Eskaybee:

Opto switches are a pain in the butt. One day they work, the next they don’t. Try reseating the connections under the playfield that go to all those opto boards. It’s possible one loose connection could be causing the sporadic issues in vibrations. Also check the opto at the top of the katana ramp on the left.

Could be loose wires (always look for easiest solution first) but new Optos act very sporadic when they’re going bad. Can work for a week, then malfunction every day for a week.
