Finally got setup and playing, and I could tell nobody did any play/QA on this cabinet... But I'm OK with no pre-existing wear, and nothing looks wrong with the playfield The top wolverine shot wouldn't let pinballs pass through and needed the metal ball guide bent out of the way. Leaf spring in the lockdown bar button could never have ever registered the way it was setup. All in all happy with it anyway It did make me think that these particular games could definitely use some dialing in to be perfect though. Let the tuning commence
Welp, spoke too soon on that one. I can see a small spot of clear coat/paint gone down by the flipper. Can definitely see wood underneath. Kinda looks like Deadpool has a bullet in him there. Also pretty sure in that location there’s no scenario where that doesn’t get worse. Booo Stern lottery hahaha

Shoot the Deadpool targets to light the battles and katana locks.
For tuning, still trying to figure out where other people’s hellhouse kickouts land (mine hits the plastic ball guide just behind the flipper), as well as returns from the left orbit (mine seem to hit the left sling unless I nudge the machine).
Quoted from jeffspinballpalace:1) So is Deadpool code functionally complete or what?
Part of reason for wanting to know, is because I hear some say a lot of work is required before the game is fun or that it needs some depth. The irony is that the game is exactly what it was scripted to be. There won’t be more than 3 villains + 1 mini mode, nor more than two adventures. There won’t be more than 3 multiballs with 3 types of super jackpots. There won’t be more than four team ups nor will there be more than one wizard mode. The game won’t go above a 5x multiplier nor will it add more weapons to collect.
It looks fun to me and as far as depth goes, it offers more than BSD, IM or TNA, and those are often celebrated. But it is not the complexity of the game that is important.
I think the “depth” discussion is amplified due to the comparisons with what just came out prior - Iron Maiden. I do end up putting just “one more game” on DP way more than IMDN, even though I am a fan of more complex rule sets (TSPP woot)
Quoted from jeffspinballpalace:2) Is it fun to shoot and bring you back for one more game.
sho ‘nuff. reminds me of Tron in that regard. likely to stay for awhile simply because of the tournament/competition play aspect.
Quoted from Mizzou0103:I’m seriously considering getting one, but I want to wait a bit to see how code progresses. I don’t know if Stern would even consider doing this, but I’d love to see some depth get added similar to Star Trek. Maybe add levels to each battle, where you could progress through harder versions of each villain or quest. Another option might be to add a second set of battles after Sauron, where you play zombie versions of the villains you just defeated.
Good suggestions. I’d actually be ecstatic about more high score names for each mode / multiball. I really like it when games add that.
Quoted from Da-Shaker:Anybody know how to restart lil Deadpool multiball after getting the muliball once. Maybe just hit it a lot. I had 2 in 1 game, but I don't know how I did it. If possible, I'd like to set the machine to make it have more lil DP multiballs. I haven't checked the settings yet.
With the latest code, try running the lil DP mode then beating a boss. Should be available again. I seem to have the most luck starting a boss fight and then stacking lil DP multiball anyway, even if just for the ball save timer
Quoted from x-rug-x:So these NIB games come waxed from Stern (as I understand), when is everyone planning on applying their first coat of wax?
Do they? They must do a damn good job of cleaning up because I’ve never noticed in on the last two NIBs. I wax it after unboxing... Mother’s pure carnuba wax.
Quoted from twenty84:The fact that the play count is constantly reset to 0 is especially unacceptable. It is akin to the dealer reseting your odometer to 0 every time you get an oil change.
I don’t like that behavior. Note that the earnings/coins are retained, and I’m not sure those can be erased easily.
