Picked mine up from Coz yesterday! I ordered this Hotwheels Chimicanga truck to see if it would be a suitable replacement for the truck in the pro, if not I'll just put it somewhere else in the game: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0777RPYJ4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00

Quoted from Lermods:

That’s the one we use, but we suggest mounting it on the left side, it’s interactive with the truck flasher.
https://lermods.com/products/deadpool-pinball-interactive-chimichanga-truck-mod

I actually came across yours after I ordered this. I think I'm going to drill a hole through the bottom and put a lamp socket in it, that could look pretty cool!

#3118 4 years ago

Finished my little mod. I'm quite happy with how it turned out! It's a little janky at the connector, but overall pretty clean. Here's a gif of it in action:

Thinking about those speaker lights. They look very good. 65 seems expensive for led strip though....hnmm

Yeah I'm not a fan of the price of those speaker lights either. I'm going to model and 3d print a bracket this weekend-ish, I'll let you know how it goes.

#3205 4 years ago

Popped an LED strip on the bottom of DP a few minutes ago, I'm also debating on getting one of the controllers that activates to audio, or just leaving it at a static red. It's nice that stern has a free 12v header in the backbox you can use for stuff like this! I also bought a small motorized disco ball off amazon the other day that I'm going to mess around with tomorrow to see if I can make a dumb mod with it.

Do replacement lockdown bars exist for deadpool? I can find them for other stern titles, but can't find just a plain black lockbar with the center button hole anywhere. I want to paint mine red but I want to be able to play the game while I'm waiting for it to dry and clear to harden.

#3223 4 years ago

I noticed I have the gold dust in my cabinet as well, should I assume that you only need to replace two coil stops, or do you need more than just stops for the flippers?

#3230 4 years ago
Quoted from pninja005:

Thinking of picking one up. Should I get pro or premium?

If you have the cash to spare I'd probably say premium. I personally didn't think it was worth the extra money and went pro, but if I were swimming in cash I'd have gone premium for sure. I'm incredibly happy with the game and don't regret it at all. Next in line for me is probably an Iron Maiden Pro.

Quoted from DeadTed:

Yup, search for Deadpool Hot Toys Cosbaby. There are a lot of counterfeits coming from China though so beware, usually the seller will advertise it's 100% genuine if you're looking for a real copy, but if they don't mention it you have to assume it's a fake.
The one I got was from the 3pack, he's actually Kidpool which is a little smaller.

Alright I need to order the Unicorn ASAP

Installed Pin Monk's colored inserts yesterday! It looks a lot better with them. I originally wasn't going to get the inserts for the boom button or multipliers since they didn't seem as significant, but after seeing these I'm thinking I'll pick those up.

Quoted from PinMonk:

Looks great! On Deadpool, I would call the mode brackets and the multiplier brackets mandatory and the B-O-O-M brackets optional. The B-O-O-M brackets are nice, but since they're not front and center they don't make as much of a difference as the mode and multiplier brackets.

Well you were super responsive when I messaged you with a question last night, so I'll probably buy the BOOM lenses anyway just to show my support!

Quoted from pninja005:

Having a hard time deciding to get pro or prem. I used to be long time LE buyer but switched since gotg to pro and am happy with it. But this one, hmmm

Both versions are fantastic, but if you wouldn't miss the extra $1700 (assuming you buy nib) then I'd go premium. I love my pro, but the premium is certainly a slightly better experience.

#3387 4 years ago
Quoted from PinMonk:

I don't even think it's slightly better. It's a LOT better. One of the few Pro/Prem comparisons where it's not even close.

Interesting. I was super torn between the two of them, a couple local places have the LE and after playing that a bunch I just didn't think the difference was substantial enough. Maybe it just had something to do with me only playing the prem/LE in a barcade environment. I found it to definitely be a better experience, just not substantially better.

#3391 4 years ago
Quoted from mcuzz:

Fuck it, I’m goin’ LE

Headless Deadpool finally happened![quoted image]

Speaking of Lil Deadpool's head, does anyone elses slowly turn clockwise? I keep turning it back to him facing forward but his head just slowly turns back so it's looking to the left.

#3428 4 years ago
Quoted from Devinsupertramp:

I would love all your opinions. I'm going to buy a Deadpool pin. I keep on going back and forth between the Premium and Pro. Love how the Pro looks a lot more. However love the disco ball, and the right side ramp, with drop targets. For those that have played both machines, is the Premium that much better of an experience? Worth the extra money despite me not loving how the Premium looks compared to the Pro?
Also, any chance anyone owns Deadpool and Batman 66? And if so you have a preference over one or the other? I'll be buying in the next couple of days, any insights will be huge on what I purchase.
I currently own Dialed In, Medieval Madness, White Water, Jersey Jack Pirates, Monster Bash, Attack from Mars, and TNT.

If you can spare the cash then absolutely go with the premium. I'm not ballin' out of control so I went with the pro and am incredibly happy with it, but the premium is definitely a (in my opinion slightly) better game and would be the one to get if you can spare the $1700 or so.

#3438 4 years ago
Quoted from Indypin:

I think DP is such a sleeper hit that when you buy and play a pro you end up loving it so much you want to MAXIMIZE your DP experience. I love my DP Pro so much because of the crazy shots, but can’t help but think how much more fun DP Premium could have given me.
Good job Mr. Gomez!

I must be a crazy person. I love my pro and whenever I play the premium/le I really don't think I'm missing much of anything, at least not enough to make me want to sell the pro and get it. It's a better game, but not much better imo.

Is there any way to tighten the front left side screw (pictured) on the left ramp without removing the whole assembly? Mine is super loose but when I tighten it I'm assuming the nut on the inside is spinning with the screw.

Anyway first thing I did was lift the ball guide leading to the katana lock and the right orbit one behind it and put metal washers. All the other guides seem ok, please let me know if I need to put washers under any others.[quoted image][quoted image]

Wellp, I took a look at my Deadpool today and noticed the front edge of the aforementioned metal guide has been scraping paint away. I'm going to do the washer fix today and put some mylar over the exposed area. Certainly not ideal, but it could be worse. One thing I thought about is getting one of those adhesive rubber ball stops (like in Whirlwind), trimming it, and putting it under the guide to add more protection to the exposed area, just not sure how well that'll work. I have some extras from my Whirlwind rebuild so I'll give it a shot.

#3872 4 years ago

Just took care of mine. The damage wasn't ideal, but at least I'm doing it now. I used #8 washers with 5/32 neoprene washers underneath, which is exactly what I did on my TNA as well.

I covered the wear with mylar (Avery 73601) and cut up an old flipper rubber to have extra protection on the exposed area.

Quoted from mbelofsky:

You could probably ask Cliff at www.passionforpinball.com for the metal guide he sells for the similar issue on LOTR and have it cut down a little like 1/4". He could probably also open the closed end of the hole for the bolt so you do not have to do what I did to get the entire guide out of the playfield. You could then take off the under playfield nut and washer and slide in his protector to rest against the bolt and re-tighten the nut.

Thanks, I'll shoot him an email.

You can see the Cliffy in action. Just email cliffy to get one to protect your chip!

#3877 4 years ago
Quoted from gumnut01:

Such a stupid design. C’mon stern, how hard was it to put a washer down? They should change this on the production line right now.

Cliffy is sending me a modified LOTR protector, though unfortunately I doubt I can keep the washers on to install that, since the pressure from the rail holds the Cliffy in place.

#3879 4 years ago
Quoted from gumnut01:

Well the cliffy will make sure the ball guide does not rub against the playfield anymore, so problem solved! Glad your able to hide that damage in an elegant manner. ACHIEEEEVEMENT!!

Yeah I'll probably just remove the washer from the front post and leave the washers on the remaining posts. That should work well enough I imagine. I did also email Stern, though I don't expect much out of them on this lol.

#3881 4 years ago
Quoted from gumnut01:

Good stuff that you emailed them. And you are past the worst, enjoy this awesome game!!

Yeah, we'll see what they say. The last couple of times I've emailed them I never got a response, so I'm not sure I'll even hear back on this one

Quoted from PinMonk:

Seems excessively long for protection of the guide area.

It's the first draft. Regardless the ball doesn't hit it and it covers the damage so I'm quite happy. He's changing it up though and I'll get the final version once it's ready.

I really don't want this to get worse, so I'll take a little bit of long metal lol
20190812_210602 (resized).jpg20190812_210602 (resized).jpg

Quoted from Orko:

I’m thinking about doing this too, how difficult was installation? I’m wondering if the front of it could be reduced in size to make it look less obstructive.

Super easy, there's a notch cut out the back where you can just loosen it and slide it in.

#3952 4 years ago
Quoted from twenty84:

This damage was caused by the guide scraping the play field. Seems like if you don't have any damage you are trying to cover a simple washer would be enough to lift the guide off the play field.

Yeah the washer fix is what most people are doing, unfortunately I was unlucky and have some pretty bad damage underneath that guide. While I get the complaints about it being a little long (again, it's his first draft of it), I'm incredibly happy with it, as it completely covers the damage, and now I know it won't get worse.

The final iteration will be shorter, for the time being this was a WIP based off his LOTR protector for a similar issue.

This is probably a really stupid/nit picky question but is there a preference of nylon or neoprene washers for this fix?

Also, did you put washers under guide as well or just place guide on top of cliffy?
Thx
M

The final version was flipped from the shape of the original. This is the adhesive side down for me at least. I did not put washers on the post with the cliffy so the front could put some pressure on the cliffy itself, but I did put washers on every other post.

Dunno if the right place to ask this. I own a Deadpool premium as my only real pin(built a virtual cab as well). im now thinking about my next purchase(will be NIB newer game) and wondering what would pair well with it. Id like something that plays differently. I really like the look/theme of Houdini but have not been able to play it yet. Im a huge Star wars nut and love the new comic book artwork and that is a very different game from deadpool. What are your thoughts?
Note-will wait for the next stern announcement. If it is Stranger Things it will be mine......

A lot of people think Maiden pairs well with Deadpool, which it does because it's a great game haha. In addition I'd recommend checking out the Attack from Mars remake. IMO one of the (if not the) best pins ever made.

#4589 4 years ago
Quoted from Wickerman2:

Same here. Overlapping but solid.

There are two screws holding the target to the bracket under the playfield, you just need to loosen those, readjust, then tighten them.

#4648 4 years ago
Quoted from PinMonk:

It's one of the few Sterns where there's no doubt - the Premium/LE version is better.

I went pro on Deadpool mostly because I just don't see much improvement in the premium. There are a couple of things I thought were neat, but not enough to make me go for premium. Maiden on the other hand I think premium is hands down the best version and worth the cost. Either way, with most of these games if you won't miss the money then you might as well go premium haha.

#4650 4 years ago
Quoted from marksf123:

I am a buy and hold type of guy so I probably will have the game for a long time so went with the premium. Plus I am putting 4 games up in my loft and don't plan to move them for a while so I thought long and hard on what games to buy. For my Loft I am putting up the JP Premium, BM66LE, DP Premium and SWLE (plus the Rockola Jigsaw). I plan to have those games for a while once they are up there. The rest of my games I have in my air conditioned garage. If G&R from JJP looks good I might have to let go one of my other games. AFM is my oldest game that I have keep, I think I bought it in '06. That one I won't let go either.

That's a great plan. It's all super subjective in the end really, everyone has different tastes with these games so it's all about what the buyer wants.

Quoted from marksf123:

I change the shooter rods on all my games to match the theme. Sometimes I buy the Stern rod and other times I like someone else's better. For those of you who have changed the shooter rod, any suggestions on which shooter rod to get for the game?

I made one for mine using this keychain: https://www.amazon.com/REINDEAR-Deadpool-Logo-Keychain/dp/B01DOVBG54/ref=sr_1_2

I think someone in the shop sells one using the same thing if you don't want to go the route of making your own.

#5832 4 years ago

I contacted Stern since mine is obviously cracked on one side. Pinball Life has the part listed as #535-1417-02 but I can only put it on my wishlist, can't buy it.

Yeah I took a second look at mine today and it looks like it's also split at the seam. I emailed Stern as well, so we'll see.

#5881 4 years ago

For anyone with a damaged scoop protector I'd highly recommend you reach out to Cliffy. He sent me a modified Ghostbusters scoop protector, and it works flawlessly. I have no more scoop rejects and it offers a lot more protection in general than the one Stern ships with. It looks like his bent with a radius instead of a straight bend like the stock protector, which is why I think the stock protector is splitting for so many people.

Quoted from Flipnaught:

That's awesome! I actually emailed Cliffy about a scoop protector back in January and he sent me a Ghostbusters protector to try out since they looked so similar. It was close. We worked together over the course of a month and he made a couple of different versions based on my feedback to get the fitment right. I have a few hundred games on the modified scoop protector now and it is holding up really well!
I have been meaning to give him an update but I just haven't played as much now and have been really busy. I will do that this week. It is a great alternative to the Stern version and I don't get scoop rejections anymore from the Stern version splitting.
Happy to see that he is selling these to others now and they are working well! It was a pleasure working with him from halfway across the country via email. He was very receptive to my feedback and patient with me. Couldn't be happier about the outcome! Such a great guy.

I sent him some feedback once I got it on, the difference is legitimately night and day. Overall the protector is way better designed than the one the machine ships with. I haven't noticed any denting from ball impacts after 30 or so games on the new protector (unlike the stern protector, which was dented to hell), and I'm now making the majority of my scoop shots.

Looked again last night and couldn't find the adjustment. If someone see's it please let me know but I think they forgot it. It's so odd that I can adjust basically every other coil in this game but the flippers. I found adjustments for:

- Auto Launch power

- Topper spinner power
Seriously, I can adjust the power to a topper I don't have and the spinning of the disco ball but not the flippers. Really sad

It's not there, as far as I can tell. I wanted to try out changing it last night too.

Quoted from maffewl:

There isn’t a flipper strength adjustment. That’s why I added plunger compression springs to my flipper mechs.

That's a cool idea. I think I'll try that out this weekend. I've been playing like garbage lately with non-stop drains, so maybe it'll magically make me suck less.

Finally got the GC back after my wife's friend took it a while back. One day I'll not suck at this game (maybe).

not sure i understand WHAT that is supposed to do?

It's for people who already have wear/chipping under that guide, if you raise the guide with washers before you get chipping then you don't need it. Mine for instance: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/deadpool-owners-club-free-chimichangas-for-all/page/78#post-5146331

Take them off. Game is too easy with outlane posts.

Wow, I must really suck. I'm terrible even with rubbers on the posts.

Quoted from Doctor6:

So I played this in a pro on location and loved it. Debating between this pro and tmnt pro. Your thoughts? If I'm going to do only pro, wouldn't tmnt pro be the better choice?

I own TMNT Pro and DP Pro. I'd pick Deadpool over TMNT without a second thought.

#8486 3 years ago
Quoted from maffewl:

That is such poor advice to say DP is premium or bust and flat out wrong. DP Pro is an amazing game.

For real. My pro is one of my favorite games in my lineup. If I had to choose between that and my Maiden Premium, I'd pick Deadpool.

The only way I'm getting rid of my pro is if I have a premium lined up to take it's place.

Same except I'm hoping to find an LE!

Quoted from CaffeineSlug:

I installed an anti lean bracket on the snikt target, and this is the position where it ends up. The thicker part of the target does not touch the ball guide but the thinner part can. Is this an okay position, or does the target need to be moved forward more? It seems like I'm getting a lot of shots that hit the target but don't make it up the ramp. I've read the key posts related to the target but I'm not sure how far forward it really needs to be.
[quoted image]

Mine doesn't touch it at all. I believe somewhere earlier in the thread Stern confirmed it isn't supposed to make any contact with the guide.

I heard mine should be shipping in the next day or two as well! After two years of loving my pro I decided to upgrade to a premium. I don't see myself ever getting rid of the game so I figured I might as well.

Wellp I left the pro club after two years and have now joined the premium club. Nice to see the redesigned the rail so the front doesn't touch, though I'm still going to put a washer under it. Now I just have to reinstall all my mods and powdercoated parts.

My serial number is literally one before yours @jaxpinball!

Any chance you could post a photo of the new rail design?

The front has a notch in it to keep it from rubbing.

Joined the Pro club from the March 2021 run! Unfortunate that the new rail design didn't make it into that run, and I didn't quite do my homework on the washer fix until after the fact.
Luckily, Cliffys are on the way! Love the machine.. awesome game all around.[quoted image]

Wow that's a bummer, sorry to see that. My pro had really bad chipping from the rail, once I had the cliffy on I completely forgot about it until I sold it.

#9284 2 years ago
Quoted from Xelz:

Thanks! Interesting that Stern redesigned the guide, but didn't spend a few cents on a washer. At least they made progress

Oddly some people have had washers from the factory. My assumption is that they'd have a difficult time getting every person on their assembly line to remember to add a washer under this specific rail so redesigning the rail eliminates any errors.

#9299 2 years ago

Well it took like 5 hours but I got all of my mods installed back in the premium! Woo!

Quoted from Smack:

That is a great improvement. I wonder if they will start to do similar to AIQ. I can't recall the exact shot but there is a ball guide that suffers the same fate.
As others have mentioned you might wanna put washers under the left ramp and potentially the ball guide behind the Wolverine spinner.

Yeah the antman rail digs as well, I didn't know about it and mine scraped art away within three days. Luckily I found the bit it scraped off and was able to mylar it in place, then throw on some washers. So it's pretty much invisible.

I did put washers under the left ramp, but haven't done the wolverine rail. I'll take a look at it tomorrow, I never had an issue with that rail on my pro but it wouldn't hurt to do it.

#9313 2 years ago
Quoted from nicoy3k:

Glad they are trying to address the issue but I’m not sure how that solves it. It just moved the issue a little further back no?
Love the art on the prem, congrats.

It's an improvement for sure, but I think a washer is still a good idea. The area of the rail touching the playfield is now much closer to the post that attaches it to the playfield. There should be significantly less flex/movement in that area when the ball hits it so it will definitely at least help with it scraping the playfield.

It looks like Stern is actually doing another run of toppers but they've upped the price to $700... I'd have absolutely been in at the original $400 price, but this is a bit much.

Edit: For those wondering, they're listed on a few distributor sites:

I was sneaking in a couple games before bed last night and suddenly my lil deadpools head just rolled off onto the PF! What the heck man. The game is like a month old, does anyone know if Stern will cover this under warranty?

It's a very common issue. Email them and they'll send you a new figure.

Quoted from Nihonmasa:

I finally looked into the DP Prm I've had for some time, found an audio cassette.
Does it come with all or just random?
[quoted image][quoted image]

It comes with all of the prems as far as I know.

#9727 2 years ago

When putting washers under the left ramp is the general consensus to put washers under all three posts (the two posts at the front and one at the rear right), or just the rear post? I didn't put washers under the ramp of my pro but decided it was best to do it with my prem and went with all three posts to keep from changing the pitch of the ramp.
