Quick question, was there a huge scoring buff going from 1.05 to 1.06 code. I'm asking because I recently played my Deadpool Premium and scored 2.1B, then when I went to a location to play a pro, my best score was 588M. I'm assuming the Pro was on a different code update. I actually made it farther progression wise on the pro, but my score wasn't anywhere close to my score at home. Also it felt much slower collecting weapons on the pro. I'm just curious, the other main difference is there isn't a rubber on my home Deadpool on the outlane posts. I'm just trying to make sense of the score.

I know I hit the snikt shot more consistently at home. I actually got to the 5x while in Mechsuit Multi-ball. My score in Mechsuit Multi-ball was 1.3B on its own.

Quoted from Smack:

There were no scoring changes. 1.06 introduced Insider Connected and fixed the bugged Lil DP Frenzy high score.

Thank you! I guess I'm just not good on the Pro model.

Ok, so I just got my Deadpool Premium delivered a few days ago. I was putting up some amazing scores, which is totally not in line with my skill set. I have noticed a few things, the first thing is the right diamond collects automatically at the start of some games. Another thing is random scoring when I push the flipper buttons. The ball isn't hitting anything that would warrant the score to change. Sometimes even when the ball isn't in play pushing the flipper buttons will award points. Also I have collected 5x Snikt, I'm not sure if I'm actually hitting the shot or if it's another error. It's hard to tell, because I got the 5x during Mech suit Multi-ball. The last thing I noticed is I'm collecting a ton of weapons, but not hitting the shots. I think somehow when I push the flipper buttons, the game is awarding weapons.

I went to play a pro model on location and noticed I wasn't collecting nearly as many weapons and I wasn't scoring nearly as high.

Any help would be appreciated.

Quoted from DudeRegular:

Get into switch test and see what's registering. You may need to bump around the playfield a bit to cause it.

I went into the switch test and the flippers are not registering any other switch. One thing I did notice is the opto behind little Deadpool registered on its own. I wasn't testing anything when it popped up. Also something is causing a large number of weapons to be collected. Hopefully I can call Stern on Monday and figure it out.

Apparently the pop bumper is causing the opto to stay locked in the on position. When I'm in switch test mode, the right katana opto operates as it should. The square appears and disappears. When I hit the pop bumper directly behind that opto, instead of seeing the pop bumper it quickly switches and shows the right katana opto and the square stays and the opto no longer registers.

Quoted from Forum-ninja:

I am in the exact same boat! The optos work but are being triggered. There is little to no room for adjustment,it seems like the slots on the metal ramp guide don’t line up. It didn’t start acting up until about 10 games. What is your build date?

The day before yours, . If I figure something out I'll let you know. My opto seems to sit back away from the medal ramp. I'm a novice at pinball repair/adjustment so I'm not sure how to really move the opto in a better position.

I also thought the pop bumper may have been hitting the opto wire, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

Quoted from DudeRegular:

Thats progress! So check the opto alignment and mounting. If it is off a bit moving that can cause the constant registering that you were seeing. This almost certainly can be fixed without parts replacement based on what you just posted though. That is good news.

Thanks. What is confusing to me is why the pop bumper is causing the opto to register and stay on

Quoted from awesome1:

As others have mentioned this type of phantom scoring is generally from opto switches misaligned or physical switches too close together and vibrations cause the switches to register when they shouldn't. Finding the offending switches can be a little tricky, use switch test and bang on the game a bit. Adjust the switches as necessary and hoipefully that takes care of the issues.
Once you get the faulty switches sorted out, reset all of your scores since they are not "real".

Thanks. I've been trying all day to get this sorted out. Could the issue be the solder? It seems like a possibility if the vibration caused by the pop bumper is what causes the opto to stop registering. Also completely agree on the score comment, I'm sort of embarrassed.

Also if I rub the opto with a q-tip it resolves the opto not registering, but as soon as the pop bumper goes off, it goes back to not registering.

Quoted from Kevlar:

Turn the opto over so you can see 4 solder pads ( 2 for the wires and 2 small ones for the actual opto ). Re-flow the solder to all 4. Refit it and test. I had to do this a few days ago on an opto on GZ, fixed my issue. Fingers crossed for you.

Thanks I appreciate the tip!
