A HUO Deadpool happened to fall into the back of my car today. And the good part about it is that I'm coming into this game really knowing almost nothing about it. We had played a couple games on it where he tried to explain some the rules, but it seems like there is a ton going on with this one. The one thing I did know about this game was to check under the ball guides. I didn't notice any damage, but before I start playing it I'll remove them and get some washers under the guides posts that go through the playfield. Even though it all looked good, I'm still going to be sure.

And I'm sure through the 183 pages of this thread, I'll find all the tidbits and quirks I need to fix while it is apart.

I always love this adventure. I pick up a game I don't know much about, get to know it, and sometimes they end up being gems. Other times they just disappear a few months later. Which will this be? It is always fun to find out!

Quoted from J85M:

I asked George Gomez and he kindly took the time to reply and stated more DP toppers will be getting made, although no set time frame.

They would basically be printing money at this point. If they did the Aerosmith one, I’d buy it in a heartbeat. Really they could just start building small batches of a lot of different ones, and they would fly off the shelves.

Oh my! I got this game almost 3 weeks ago, but have been crazy busy. I finally set it up and got around to playing it in my house.

There is definitely something different about this game. It feels and shoots different than any other game I've owned. It has a very distinctive rhythm to the play. During one of the bonus countdowns I was laughing at how much time it took. The callouts seem spot on for the play, and overall I'm already really liking it.

Normally the way I start with a new game is to deep dive the rules. But with DP I'm just learning the game as I play it. I did switch up the music to the alternate tracks, which is a pretty cool feature by Stern. The honeymoon has officially begun!

Quoted from PinsOnly:

Is this a thing? How do you do it? I'd like to try it?

It’s in the Adjustments settings. So open the menu, Adjustments, DP (game specific adjustments), and then go in reverse order (which takes you to the highest number). There is one for main game play, and the multiballs. There aren’t a ton of selections, but they are fun.

Looking for a post that lists what to remove to install the playfield protector. Thanks

I’ve never seen a list like that for any game. For the most part you can do it by eye. Anything that goes over the wood of the playfield has to come out. For some things that don’t completely block it, you can twist in the protector. But for the most part, just about everything comes out.

The biggest reason for that is you need to clean and get it spotless under the protector. If you leave dirt or dust under there, it will stick out like a sore thumb. Leave in lane guides and things. Do the washer protection on the ones that need it.

As you get more off, test fit to see what else needs to go. Don’t peel the protector, just slip it into place. You will quickly see what else needs to come out.

Finally, don’t try to slide past something that might scratch the protector. Once you peel it, they are pretty fragile. Microfiber cloths will scratch it. So be ready for when you really lay it down. Clean clean clean. Then dust and clean before you put it in.

Quoted from maroot:

If you don't want to wait for the long bonus countdowns, you can hit both flippers and it will finish immediately. The same for the narration on both quests.

Yup, and thanks. When I get a new game I don't skip anything. I let every animation, ball end, game over, match and opening play all the way through. When I said I was laughing, it wasn't a bad thing, it was genuine laughter at the 80s video game vibe as the pitch got higher and faster through each multiplier. I love it in games like Eight Ball when competing and you have multiple racks and 5X (chime chime chime!).

Disco Multiball? WTF???

A friend of mine was over my house on Saturday and mentioned Disco Multiball. He said you get it from the left spinner. I've been doing a "Journey of discovery" on DP, so I've avoided reading any rules not shown by the machine. So I tried to get it, and it was completely impossible to qualify or start. So I took the glass off and spun the left spinner by hand. Each full rip of my spinner was only taking the number on the screen down by one to three spins. I ended up fully qualifying it by hand, and then put the glass back on. I still couldn't start it.

My left spinner was messed up from the start. It was only registering a couple of hits as the spinner slowed down. After taking off the plastic it was obvious that the crank of the spinner was barely touching the actuator of the microswitch as it completed a spin. It was a 10 second adjustment to fix it.

So all of a sudden a game that I am really liking became even better with more stuff!

It’s a fun mode!
Sometimes these new pins require adjustments. Don’t live with it. if you ever have issues on any pin go to the owners thread and ask how to correct it. Someone has most likely had the same issue and can help share how it was corrected.

That was the funny part. I'm intentionally only learning Deadpool through playing it. I've actively avoided reading any rules yet. Plus the spinner would register a couple hits, so it seemed normal playing it. I just didn't know it was supposed to do anything

I've been doing the same with Avengers, but I've learned more about that one from playing games with other people.

Quoted from colonel_caverne:

just wanna know after playing the sauron MB why sabretooth/mystic/juggernaut have been reset?

Quoted from Eskaybee:

The default outlanes make the game a little easier than it needs to be. Once you learn the rules, I recommend taking the outlanes off completely.

Quoted from DaveH:

"DaveH is a bad pinball player".

All 3 of those quotes say the same thing.

Quoted from ShrimpPimp:

I must say this pin has rapidly become one of our favorites.

Mine as well. This game has that special “something” that makes it a ton of fun to play. I have a feeling this game will have a very long honeymoon with me.

Quoted from Xelz:

Any suggestions for a fix? Reduce sling sensitivity? Slightly bend the ball guide?

I haven’t looked at the guide on my DP, but that’s where I’d go. I’d loosen it, move it as much as possible, then tighten it. If that wasn’t it, bending a bit would be next. It only takes a tiny bit to change the trajectory. And it shouldn’t hit the sling like that.

It happened. Deadpool has become my favorite game. It's been in my game room a couple of months, and I liked it from the start. However now it is elevated to being called my favorite game I currently own. That isn't a huge honor, lots of games have held that title over the years. And as everybody knows, it isn't permanent. AIQ made a decent effort at knocking it out of there, but failed. DP has that special something that just makes me want to play it. If I only have time to play a game or two, DP is the game I turn on now.
