Quoted from golfergordy:

No, the lights don't blink off & on, They work like they should, except that they might be completely dark, or dim, or normal in brightness, and this condition changes during the game. I played a few games just now while I'm writing this and here's what I experienced: The 4-insert lights at the top of the pf for scoring a skillshot upon initial plunge of each ball, were all dark. I could still score the skillshot because I know which of these lights should be lit for the initial plunge for each ball even though they were all dark. After the ball gets into the main pf area it's nearly impossible to know which of these insert lights is supposed to be lit because it changes every time you hit the left flipper button. As you know, every time the ball goes thru the lane beneath each of these lights it turns the light on (if it's off) and when all 4 lights are lit the bonus multiplier increases by one. Anyway, these lights remained dark for the entire game that I played so I couldn't tell which lights I needed to turn on for the bonus multiplier. I then played a 2nd game and at first these 4 lights were still dark, but after a few seconds the lights started working correctly. For the remainder of the game, these lights would go off (dark) and stay that way for maybe 15-30 seconds, and then start working again like they should with normal brightness, and then after another 15-30 seconds they would all go dark again, and alternate that way for the rest of the game. I then played a 3rd game and the lights all acted normally, with normal brightness for the entire game, as if it took them 2-games to warm up. This has been the pattern for several days now and I'm wondering what I should start checking out to solve this problem. I have previously had problems with lights that change from off to on (or vise versa) depending on game conditions, but these problems were on old Bally & Williams games, and replacing a transistor was usually the solution, but I'm a novice with the modern Stern games. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I agree with the others that is sounds like a loose/faulty connection.

Also, you probably already know, but just wanted to point out that there are several Skill Shots in Deadpool, not just the top lanes... while holding in the left flipper to get a "full" plunge, with the "easiest" being the Katana Ramp skill shot.

Thanks to all who replied.
I looked at every board I could find on the underside of the pf and wiggled every multi-wire plug. 2 or 3 of them seemed a bit loose so I removed them and replugged them in. The lights in question now work perfectly. Thanks again for the help.

Does anyone make a Deadpool Pro decal to cover the IC sticker? I made a close but not perfect vinyl decal version on my home printer, but cutting out the circle for the top/left screw is messy each time. I am not against buying one professionally done. This is my best attempt thus far.

Don’t cut the screw hole, use a very small drill bit to start and drill the hole through the decal, then go to the size you need once that pilot hole is there, should work perfectly.

It’s what I did for the IC replacement right apron plastics I made a while back.

Has anyone replaced the plastic apron with a metal one in their Deadpool Pro? Don't need IC cutout as I always relocate to the coin door. Trying to find a compatible stern part for this. Thanks in advance.

Should be do able, I believe all Deadpool playfields are the same, as long as your pro playfield has the holes in the outlanes just under the lip of the apron on both sides your good to go, you will just need a couple washers and nuts to secure it.

I replaced mine with the one pinball life sells. It looks fine, but fits oddly--the top (towards the head unit) of the apron doesn't secure properly, which makes lifting the playfield an adventure. I'd swapped for the metal apron for its lower clearance to utilize a video screen mod that gets installed by the flippers.

Is this the one you used? https://www.pinballlife.com/stern-bottom-apronarch-metal.html

Can't tell from the picture or description if this one has the two screws that fit into the holes in the playfield on each side of the flippers.

Yes, that's the one I got. At least I think. I was wrong--apparently I bought it from Planetary Pinball. It's the same model number as the PBL you linked, but the PPB listing calls it "no fork." PBL is cheaper.

So tempting - looks great - I need to see where I could put my Colossus figure since it looks like he might be visually blocked.

While I wait for all parts to arrive for production, just working on a plastic to move Colossus figures over to the right ever so slightly.

One of my beta testers did a home made plastic for his, which apart from being a little rough around the edges looks great, will get a couple laser cut and will offer them for anyone who’s unsure about their colossus figure and may want a hellhouse sign that coexists with their figure.

Random Q: My Deadpool Premium boots much slower than any of my other pins. No issues to report, and this has always been the case. Just curious now if it is just my machine or if its a known thing. I couldn't find any 'Fast Boot' option in the settings, I don't think this machine has that.

Mine is slower too, always has been since it came out of the box. Without looking I can’t confirm the fast boot thing.

I contacted support when my DP showed up with the same issue. Was told every game boots at different speeds an nothing is wrong but others from the same build report not having the slow boot times. I tried 3 different SD cards with no luck.

#14865 4 months ago

Yup. Deadpool takes several seconds longer to boot than most. It takes time to initialize that much awesome!

Anyone else get some weirdness with the high score table? last month I set a GC on my DP pro of 2.75B. I have a photo of it saying Grand champ 2.75B. Insider connected shows it as my best score on the machine. I just had a 2.6B game and it was set as GC!. Looking through the score table there's no sign of the 2.75B score? WTF?

I've also in the past finished a game, turned the machine off without recording my score ( yeah I'm sad ), turned the machine back on to retrieve the score as last game played and the score wasn't there ( showed a previous game ).

Anyone else get little anomalies like this? I haven't noticed it on any of my other spike games.

Kev how many games do you have played on your DP and in the menus what is your high score reset set to? Check that out first.

I got to and beat Mr. Sinister for the first time recently...blew away my previous GC and set a number of other records. Had not played the game for a week or two since. Had friends over, turned on the games. After a little bit noticed DP rebooted itself - then saw it went into that latest code update, didn't realize auto update was on. When it came back up it had most of my records, but it had nothing from that last game played. Assumed it was just some issue with maybe the last games scores + a code update.

Yeah, there's a setting to reset high scores table after so many games played. I usually set it to "Never".

Hi score reset is set to off, like all my machines. Besides, no other score has been lost, just the GC. Code hasn't been updated between the 2 GC's mentioned, and probably only about 5 plays.

For sure cool mod.

Quick question on a random issue that doesn’t quite add up. Routed premium. Left ramp. Intermittent register. On inspection, the weldment is broken. Fine. I’ll repair it, but this doesnt explain why the opto isn’t triggering.

Anyone heard of such a thing? Only thing I can think of is a cold joint that is being flexed as the ball goes around. But even that should open the switch. Scratches head***

Yes, I will make a first series of about twenty pieces including the Trex, the meg and the Truck with its flash.

#14879 3 months ago

Great mods I especially love the megalodon, is there anyway you can get the T-Rex on the back board or more in line with it like the Meg? The placement of the Meg on that backboard or just in front is perfection!

If you can get the trex facing the player more off the backboard like the Meg it would look amazing!!

#14880 3 months ago

It's possible, I just have to check that it works with the disco ball.

Hot damn I’m going to go pick me a Deadpool up in the morning. I’m on the list for a new one but now they’re pushing them to November or who knows anymore. I found one completely stock 1100 plays for 7100$ mint condition so I jumped on it.

Just wanted to update the thread. I've been putting it off but I finally found where this piece goes. The Buffalo Pinball stream clip actually puts it in the wrong spot. They put it under the plastic on the top of the ramp. It goes UNDER the ramp where the wireform meets the ramp. The long screen ontop of the plastic is the top of the hole that the screw that goes into this loose piece from the underside.

Also important to note each ramp has one of these pieces. People were saying it's the Colossus roof but it actually was the other ramp that this piece was missing on. I got it replaced, but wanted to update as pointing towards this Buffalo Pinball video is incorrect (and someone in the comments also mentions this error)

Congratulations mate, Deadpool is one of Sterns top 3 in my opinion, not the deepest but it’s just straight up fun!

HOOKED (hookedonpinball.com) does an awesome chrome metal ninja star pop bumper set

Lucxor does the best katana handle mod imo

Testabriel a few posts up revealed a super cool Megoladon and TRex, the Meg especially looks awesome!

J85M does a pretty sweet scoop mod, dare I say the best addition to your scoop (little self plug there )

And upgrade your backbox speakers, the music on Deadpool awesome !!

If you mean toys as mods, then see above, but if you want things that make the game better;

Full pinwoofer kit.

Powder coated side armour

Full pinwoofer kit. A must
Invisiglass, Yes
Shaker and knocker, Yes and Yes
Powder coated side armour, isn't this a visual upgrade? not a game modification.

Just me, I don't like articulated toys in my games, but I do like a good sculpt. Static figures can add a bit of realism under the glass.

One more thing, the ramp top airball protectors by HurryUpPinball with the .45's on them...nice touch!

#14892 3 months ago
Quoted from Oneironaut:

No i mean protective armour, the powdercoating makes it feel luxurious in your hands and takes away the sharp edges on the rails where your thumb sits. The rails protect the cab art around the flipper buttons.

I do make some visual mods too, speaker lights, topper, lit flipper buttons etcetc. Just not toys or sculpts.

Different strokes for different folks. I'm not one for taking things out of pins if i buy one with them in. But i just wouldn't buy a toy to put in a machine unless it's interactive i reckon.

It is all subjective at the end of the day, some of, maybe all of the stuff listed by myself and punkin makes the game better for you, then again maybe some of it or none of it makes the game any better for the next person. I know people in the hobby who wouldn't dream of buying non reflective glass or upgrading the spekers, I have even met a few of the really odd ones that don't like shakers

I personally like a mix, upgraded speakers, shakers, PDI glass, powder coat add to the looks and feel of the game just as much as a quality mod that is interactive and upgrades the in game light shows, stuff like hookeds pop bumper caps and Luxcor katana handle upgrade the aesthetics which adds to the overall experience for me, after all pinball is a game of the senses visual, feel, sound.

Also a must have is some kind of playfield lighting in the middle. I went pinstadiums initially (it was my first pinball) but wouldn't use them again.
Comet sells a double spotlight kit for deadpool that mounts on each sling. Some have installed trough lights to lit the area above the flippers too, ut i like the sling spots.
While you are in the comet shop, grab the led kit for DP and change out the GI on the bottom 2/3rds of the playfield to cool white, it makes it better without so much red.

Oh yeah that's a good call, a couple of spotlights added to DP is a must!

I also removed those red GI bulbs in the lower third of the playfield almost instantly and replaced them with Comet cool whites, it made a pretty big difference plus it didn't wash out that awesome Zombie Yeti artwork like those reds did.
