But that's odd the not the default to start on spinner is no...all I can read or hear is the spinner starts it? Thx for feedback here it's appreciated

Yeah, dunno about the default, can't remember ever changing mine, but spinner starts it.

#14502 1 year ago

Just went and looked at mine and it is default at no too, so something going on.

But yours starts on spinner? Are you on a pro or premium? Also does the multiball just start right after it hits the spinner once the countdown is at zero etc.

Pro, yes. So long as you are not in a mode i believe.

#14505 1 year ago

Ok. Yeah I tried with glass off. I must really suck. I bet it's something with the premium ramp not dropping? Not sure

I think it's actually the switch in the lane farther up from the spinner that starts the mode normally once you have met the spin count threshold.

anyone install precision flippers/bushings on deadpool? Would like to know what you set your flipper power to. Seems a bit too powerful after installing them

The diverter should make it easier to hit consecutive spinner shots.

That's it! Thanks! That switch is broken. Did a test not working. Wired/soldering ok but at first glance the little button on the switch is MIA. Thx

DudeRegular This was the issue. Broken coil stop. Thanks!

I'll have to look at the menu when i'm less stoned, but i don't think i lowered power on this one.

#14512 1 year ago

Knocked my flipper power down to 215 after putting them in.

With the Halos, I turned each flipper power down -10 from factory setting, so they are at 245.

I'm on 240 for both flippers.

Rejoined the club today. This time with a DP Premium. Can't wait to uncover how much has changed code wise since 2019.

Did you put the complete package on your DP (Halos, Bushings, Keyed Shafts w/clamps) or just the Halos with Round Shafts?? I put the complete package on my R&M, but think I might be able to get away with just the Halos/Round Shafts and leave the Stern bushings and clamps. Was just curious what you went with.

#14517 1 year ago

Halos, bushings and round shafts here. they work fine.

#14518 1 year ago

Thanks for the info. Just ordered a set.

Yeah, same for me. The keyed shafts weren't developed/available yet, but I didn't have problems with the install using the Stern clamps.

#14520 1 year ago

I ended up buying the whole kit with keyed shafts. Do you find any of the shots easier or more consistent to hit with the Halos vs. Stock flippers?

Consensus is an overwhelming yes in the dev thread.

In DP particularly it would be ease of adjustment for a below average player like myself. It allows you to get the left flipper droop correct to hit the katana shot and chimi shot very well. Not sure other than that as it doesn't really have any tight or tricky shots.

On games like Tron it has opened up the Gem shot for me that was just luck before.

Newbie here. Stupid question, but should the back of the machine be vertical when setup properly. It seems to lean way away from the wall when the bubble on the playfield is directly between the lines. Seems weird to me...

That's fine

but you don't want the bubble in the middle, thats not steep enough. Crank up the back feet and lower the front. You'll want it about 6.8 degrees i'm assuming. Buy a $25 digital level., great help

Does my iPhone with the clinometer app count as a digital level?

#14525 1 year ago
Quoted from rszimm:

Not sure about iPhone, but I found that level apps on Android were pretty inaccurate compared to a real digital level. For comparison, my bubble is touching the top line at the intended pitch.

Why do they build the machines this way? Why not design the thing so the back of the cabinet is plumb and the bottom of the cabinet level. That way you could level it with a simple bubble level? 20 years ago I had a 1970s era Bally machine and I could swear it was built this way, but I don't have it anymore so I can't verify that.

It's designed to face the player when addressing the machine, not so it will make the room look square. Levelling with to a horizontal level would give you no adjustment.

Just put in a new switch and of course got the disco action first game. Yep was also missing out in up/down katana ramp since that switch was dead. Biiiig difference lol. Thx for help people

I can only imagine the frustration of not having that ramp drop down. You had a very nice looking but expensive Pro on your hands for the most part Happy Deadpooling!

I’ve been working on mocking up this chimichanga truck mod. It mounts in the existing spot. Utilizes the existing flasher circuit as well. I’m going to add headlights that will always be on with the interior (green) illumination. The interior led is fed off the playfield GI that is under the plastic beneath the truck. It’s a die cast toy car that has some fun details. Gauging interest. Finished product will be completely plug and play. Looking at around 75$ plus shipping.

Looks really nice! Gives me “Twisted Metal” vibes.

What made you pick green for the interior lights, out of curiosity?

I had a green scoop illumination laying around from a old game ! I ended up really liking it. So I’m gonna run green in all of them.

Nothing groundbreaking here, just wanted to echo the thoughts of many others and say that the Comet Pinball GI Lighting Kit is objectively the way the game should have shipped. Definitely allows the playfield artwork to pop and you can actually distinguish the artwork on the plastics better when they aren't garishly backlit with the red.

One question for those who have installed this on a premium-- there are one (maybe two?) bayonet style sockets that aren't screwed into the playfield from the bottom but are the staple-in-place style. Their locations are a little difficult to access from the top, so I'm considering pulling the staples rather than removing the stuff above the playfield to get at them from the top. Curious what others have done.

I think the bulbs in question are under the katana handle and adjacent to the disco loop ramp, along the shooter lane.

American pinball cabinets are built this way - to be level w all adjustors equal.

Is there a list somewhere that shows what settings are affected by the different "installs". I accidentally selected "Install Home Play" and I have no idea what settings I just screwed up and it doesn't seem to show in any of the manuals I have.

Maybe my quickest defeat of the T-Rex Quest... especially without using any Booms!

Only 28 seconds from start to finish!

#14539 1 year ago

Installed the Precision Pinball Flipper System today. I had great success with the PPFS on my Rick & Morty machine so I thought I'd try it on Deadpool. I put the entire package on; Halo's, Bushings, Keyed Shafts. They make the shots feel so crisp is the only way I can describe it. Here's a pic of what Red Halos + Black Titans looks like.

I had my quickest completion today as well. Four straight non-bricked shots (who IS this??) and pretty quick to hit the hurry-up, then hit scoop on first attempt. Scored in the 50mils.

Then later had a long Megalodon (generally takes me forever), finally finished it…340mil. (Had over 100 weapons at that point & had 3x going for some time).

Weird issue started showing up
The coin door lights including the start button and lighted flipper buttons started pulsing. It's even audible. Turned it off and seated the connections more firmly and that seemed to work for a while but now it just happened again. Rebooting seems to clear it at least temporarily. Any ideas?

Its tedious, but double check all the connections including the wires going into the connectors. I had a similar issue, and after awhile, I found a wire that had come out of the connector.

I have about 1400 plays on my DP pro. My right flipper isn’t micro flipping consistently now. Is this possibly a coil going bad or else?

Replace the coil stop and sleeve and see if that helps. Do both. Not likely to be a coil.

Also clean all the dust up while you're in there, ISO alcohol works great. Higher plays you want to check the actuator for smooth sides and the end getting blown out, which is into full flipper rebuild territory.

Greetings everyone, had a quick question.

I know the answers will probably be a little biased being this is a DP thread, but just wanted to get other’s opinions and thoughts if they ended up trading or selling their Godzilla machine in favor of Deadpool?

I have limited space and need to sell\trade one of mine and just wanted to see if anyone preferred DP after having owned GZ for some time as I see a lot for sale and was planning on getting one this year.

If I had the option for both, I would.

Thanks
