I think the stern blades are a little disappointing, if they were like a cool fighting montage or something I probably would have grabbed them.

Quoted from Soulstoner:Now, having said that... Official Stern Art blades or Mirror blades?
For me it’s official art blades everytime!
Quoted from Soulstoner:Taking possession of a Premium later this week or early next week.
Deadpool Pro was my first pinball machine ever in 2020, and it was amazing. I played over 1000 games in my first month, and over 2500 games in the first 6 months.
I grew tired of it as it was my only machine, and figured that anything I replaced it with, would be equal or better. I was wrong.
I've regretted selling it ever since, and have been through 5 other games, and nothing has captured the feeling and excitement of Deadpool. I told myself I would get it back, and if I did, would go all out for the Premium. I'm so excited to have it back and cannot wait to blow it the 'eff up with the skills I've gained since owning it.
Now, having said that... Official Stern Art blades or Mirror blades?
I like my WizBlades!
Quoted from J85M:For me it’s official art blades everytime!
Same here, I like them but these are really my least favorite Stern art blades. I will keep buying Sterns though because they are made from really nice thick and durable material and they are easy to apply. I pull the playfield and use some harbor freight clamps to get them lined up where I like then pull the backing. Works perfectly every time with no help. These also can be removed and repositioned without issues.

Oooo, I like this clamp approach
Quoted from northerndude:I like my WizBlades!
What is the material like on those? I like the look of their JP ones in the home pin.
Quoted from Sleal16:Oooo, I like this clamp approach
I tried painters tape before without much luck. This worked really nicely, holds it in place perfectly, and the plastic clamps don't mar anything.

That’s how I did my first few sets of art blades, but found the wet method will let you slide the blades if needed and didn’t need clamps in my case when do doing later sets.

I do the wet method for replacing the decals on the outside of the cabinet since they are a lot thinner and they can stretch if you pull too hard.
Inside you can get away with the dry method. When I did my first art blades on GOTG I did the dry method and I think I pulled them off and moved them 3 or 4 times each. No issues at all.
Quoted from joelbob:Where do you guys suggest buying mirror blades?
I have had good experience with coin taker/laseriffic.
Stern art blades are super easy, line them up on the back and backbox hinge and put them on in one go.
Quoted from joelbob:Where do you guys suggest buying mirror blades?
I had good luck with Cointaker for my old Capcom. I don't actually like them on new Sterns though. I gave away the ones that were on my AIQ when I got it.

You don't like the look or the fit?
Quoted from joelbob:You don't like the look or the fit?
Little of column A, little of column B. I don't like that they can get scratched and see fingerprints.
I just prefer the art blades that are done by the same artist as the rest of the game. If those aren't available (older games), then I like mirror blades.
Quoted from punkin:Deadpool needs all the lighting in the center it can get. Mirrors help with that.
Trough light helps a bunch. More than I would have thought.

Yeah I have mirror blades on my Independence Day and you definitely have to be careful or will scratch them. I have Stern art blades on my modern Sterns and after market on my Twilight Zone. The thickness and durability of the Stern art blades is fantastic!

As do spots on the slings and as does pinstadiums, but so does mirrors.
For those interested. I was able to upgrade the lighting on my DP pro with the Comet matrix lighting system successfully. Super easy to do and took me about 10 mins total.
It looks fantastic and adds a ton of lighting to the most important part of the playfield (near the flippers). If you have a recent DP or one with insider connected, it came with two cutouts where stern would usually put lighting (LEs and Prems).
If anyones interested I can drop the list of things needed in order to install this upgrade.

No issues seeing the playfield. I bought some the matrix system spot lights but didn’t end up needing them.

Did you have to drill the playfield to add the metal stand-offs? Or did you position the LEDs at the apron holes using a different method?
Yeeeeessss! Finally after (prematurely it seems) selling my pro to upgrade to a premium... 9 months later I'm back in the club! Somehow I've managed to squeeze it in and it becomes my 8th machine. With this, R&M and Alien arriving all within the space of a month, I'm in a sort of "pin nirvana" at the moment - nothing else matters.
Quick question for those with speaker light kits - is it better to remove the foam shielding from behind the speaker plates so the lighting isn't so diffused?

Its decent. I use the Retro Refurbs on another pin, The Retro ones are thicker than WizBlades for sure. But I still wouldn't hesitate to buy again, as I already have for my Godzilla upcoming

Congrats!
I like to keep the foam in on mine and I use the mesh behind it.

I am interested and would also like to know how you attached them in the apron.
Quoted from Foo:This may have been addressed earlier, but does anyone make a magnet cover up for this decal? Like the one for Rush... Thx

Why wouldn't you just peel it off?
Have you guys put bumpers on the outlane posts that don't have them? I was wondering what the potential negative affect would be to having them installed, besides less drains.
I took delivery of a Deadpool premium today. I've already added under cabinet lighting, speaker lighting, playfield spotlights, and game blades. This is a smooth fast shooting game.
Has anyone added a spotlight that shines on the disco ball? I think I would tie it in to the motor so it only comes on when the disco ball spins.

There is at least one spotlight on it. Mine has one hidden behind dazzler. However, more would be better

There’s a bit of talk about worrying about damaging art blades and mirror blades. Even fingerprints on mirror blades.
If you’re going to use art blades or mirrors, do yourself a favor and buy these. No more worrying about damaging either.

No drilling required. Just a couple dabs of hot glue on the inside of the apron, super easy!

I have these and they’re great! Protects mirror blades and art blades every time.
Joined the club today, thanks ZMeny ! Only got a few games in after setting it up tonight but I’m already loving playing it in a home environment and being able to hear everything.
I’ll also say the premium artwork looks way better in person than in pictures. It was my least favorite of the packages prior to unboxing it and seeing it in person. Could be biased, though!
Bonus dog content included also, since I’m one of those people.

Airedale or Welsh Terrier?
Quoted from tilt-master:Found this rattling around in the box. I checked and couldn’t find where it belongs. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Here is my best guess, there is another one on the other side of the coin door as well.
Good luck!

Just pull it off, mine came off super easy and clean, left no residue.

It was that easy on mine that arrived a week ago

I guess I didn't need to buy the "ticket" magnet for my Rush then either... doh! It does look cool though.
Quoted from joelbob:Where do you guys suggest buying mirror blades?
I would say online. You can find lots of cool things to buy.
