Quoted from WolfWeb:

Hello all, my premium arrives next week (can't wait!) and I've been scrolling through looking for anything I later might wish I did from new. Does anyone know of a new DP to-do list / guide or anything like that?
So far I've found there's often an issue with Katana ramp, it needs a washer or something I think, a Wolverine spinner problem with the ball guide behind it digging into the playfield and the left ramp has straight edges that sit on top of the playfield which can cause chipping.
I'm currently looking for fixes for those and if you have anything to add to my list for me to research that would be great, thank you.

Add this this Your list. Haven't found an answer. It's the little quick loop on upper left. Right next to "eat Your Veggies" insert. A lot of brick shots.

Quoted from Ocelot:

Mine came in the mail today... but with no installation instructions. A sticker on the packaging directed me to a dead link and the "install" button on the DEADPOOL ILLUMINATED DROP TARGETS page sent me to a URL that was an empty placeholder. Anybody know how to install this thing? (I sent a support request to MezelMods in the meantime.)

Here is the link to those install instructions- thanks again to Bill for his help in making this happen!

It was my pleasure! It's rare that an idea comes out even better than imagined but this looks so very nice in real life.

Tech question on DP Premium.
The loop on left side has a post with no rubber(Right next to "Eat Your Veggies").
Seems like I get tons of rejects out of that loop. Does it need a rubber?
Thanks!

Mine does not have a rubber there either and I also get rejects. Hitting the colossus target is not easy, that's for sure. I suspect that if a rubber were to be added there that it would be more difficult and more rejects, but I may be wrong. If you try it, let us know how it goes.

Looks like you covered the key areas that require preventative maintenance. IIRC the posts about putting washers under them are stickied in this thread.

Also, Cliffys are recommended, especially in the shooter lane. I’ll admit that ordered the the full Cliffs DP set but left it off the Lil DP drop targets for appearance and to avoid affecting the targets operating normally, and I left the factory scoop protector on - I’ll replace it with a Cliffy when the factory one breaks.

As some of you know I've been working on a lit Katana handle for both the standard and delux handle. The delux hardly showed any light at all so I went back to the original. I had just OK results so it won't go into production. Still it looks nice enough...just not really worth the effort.

I put the smallest post rubber on the post.

Definitely less rejects!

I re tinkered with lights going from 4 inches to 7 inches. This looks pretty decent.

PSA: The 3D start buttons that SkyKing2301 makes are *chef's kiss*. We got a set for all the machines we have that he currently makes them for (all but BKSOR at the moment), and here is how the DP one looks installed (standard red):

Got one also and just ordered Led Zeppelin.

#10462 2 years ago

Make sure you get washers on the Wolverine shot. And also the left ramp, it will dig into the playfield. I put a piece of mylar over the paint that chipped to hold it in place. Luckily, that area isn’t seen. 357443E1-8F2E-47FE-BF8E-36E1F762AE5D (resized).jpeg357443E1-8F2E-47FE-BF8E-36E1F762AE5D (resized).jpeg0B8D147A-4994-4130-B902-05634678A02E (resized).jpeg0B8D147A-4994-4130-B902-05634678A02E (resized).jpegA31B379E-D130-4676-A823-D2EFFD6BBD0C (resized).jpegA31B379E-D130-4676-A823-D2EFFD6BBD0C (resized).jpeg

I have them on all 5 of my Stern machines and they look great and so easy to install. And, Andy is a great guy to do business with. He really stands behind his product. Had one for my Mandalorian break and he replaced it immediately, no problems.

#10465 2 years ago

It’s the ramp that feeds the left flipper. In the back, there’s a post that goes through the playfield. This needs a washer. I will post a picture later.

I almost wonder why Stern didn't do this at the factory the game has been in production for a while you would have thought it would have been a running fix.

No rubber or different post needed - it’s not an easy shot - you just need a better, more direct shot into the mini loop.

I decided to go the Cliffy playfield protectors, they seem to address some of the issues.

Cliff has a cliffy solution for the katana ramp. Easy install with just having to loosen the ramp and slip the slotted Cliffy under it.

Don't know about the others.

I really like the clear transparent rubbers and have them on all my games.

Currently I'm mostly using Pinball Life "Perfect play" which are similar to Titans I believe.

I am trying clear Superbands in a couple high wear areas as they seem to last much longer and don't get dirty very quickly, but have a different "feel" to them.

I'm having a problem with a drop target. The "A" drop target moves but it doesn't stay up. Here's a video (funny audio):

I'm hoping someone could point me in the right direction to fix this. I'm really not sure where to start with this repair

Most likely the plastic broke that holds up the targets. About a $2 fix. Have to replace the plastic rest. My Beatles broke in only 300 plays. Need to make those in metal.

#10483 2 years ago

There is an adjustment screw so you can fine tune the drops. Too high and the ball won't release even in the down position. Too low and the hole in the playfield will catch the ball. Also too low the drop lip will not catch the drop rim and the drop won't stay up. You most probably need to adjust the screw to adjust the drop in it's down position. The drop should be even with the playfield in down position The lip that needs to catch is red. Also you can increase the coil spring tension by stretching spring marked green and reinstalling the A drop mechanism but I doubt you'll need to do this

If anything is wrong with the drop hold up tab marked red or what it rests on you'll need to replace that part

Yep, clear rubbers make the game pop. Just need to clean them more frequently than darker colors.

I've had cliffy's installed since ~50 games total and I lifted up the katana ramp the other day to find a scratch that required novus 2. I added some mylar and metal washers to make sure it never happens again. ymmv

I found these little fellows at Hot Topic…I cut off and filed the pinpoints, then applied some weather stripping and found some really thin zip ties that would fit into the loops on the back where the little kickstand would go.

Thanks, its a big improvement over stock. Its one of those things you don't really notice how much better it looks until you have it in there, and then it looks so good, most people who aren't familiar won't notice it because it blends in so well. The perfect kind of mod IMO

Thank you for that huge compliment.
It makes all the work worth it.

I know this is asked all the time but...

Has anyone here upgraded from a Pro to a Premium and if so was it worth it?
Has anyone downgraded from a Premium to a Pro and if so do you regret it?

I have a Pro which I LOVE. I'm very confident that it is a keeper for me. My issue is I have an opportunity to upgrade and I'm really struggling with the decision. I know I will love the disco loop as it adds a lot to the flow. The drops are nice but not the selling point for me. It is all about those loops!

You won't be sorry if you upgrade, but you won't be sorry if you don't either.

I went from a premium to a pro and I’m having the same, if not more, amount of fun. I’d pocket the 2k for something else!

Why do you think you are having more fun?

#10500 2 years ago
Quoted from joelbob:

Why do you think you are having more fun?

I only have a Pro.
I think if you are trained to shoot that loop it could be very repetitive on the premium . Can someone with a premium tell, does it always loops or does it sometimes stop the ball on the left loop, that it fall in to the bumpers?

I have a Supermario bros and it's the same there if you know how to shoot that loop you do it over and over again to get a lot of points. I think it's a bigger challenge when you do not now how exactly the ball will come down. But I would like to have the drop targets
I prefer the pro cabinet over the premium.
If the premium had the pro cabinet I had decided to go with the premium. But that's only my opinion.
