I’ve been working the last 2 months on a deadpool apron, and we had an early prototype to show at TPF last week.

I’d like to get some input on what you all like and don’t like to see on the apron.

Current features that we have:
-led blades front side like on alien. Lighting changes on game mode
-Lighted deadpool logo
-2 underlit katana’s on the apron, lighting depends on game mode.
-lighted shooterlane

2 pictures attached; one is the first proto and one of the second proto.

My first thought was to have a more disco themed apron but I think I will drop that. I changed it to bulletholes now.
On the prototype I squeezed in all possible ideas just to try it out. So Deadpool text, deadpool logo and katanas. its a bit too much, but it shows some options

I’ll do some testing this weekend with the new one.

Let me know your ideas and thoughts.

Currently I think I want to keep the deadpool icon, deadpool text and the bulletholes.

GAH!! This looks amazing! Will be following your progress with great interest. IC reader is not a concern for me, as I moved mine to the coin door…but I am curious if you plan to address this for people who might not want to relocate their IC reader?

BTW, I like the DP logo and lettering for sure. The katanas? I can take or leave them, but I have the side armor with the katanas on them. I wonder how it would look with desert eagles in place of the katanas? Just thinking out loud. It really does look fantastic as-is.

So far, I like what you have going on. Would be very interested to see it installed in a machine with the lighting.

Agree that bullet holes would be better than the stars. And I like the katanas with logo and text.

If I had one nit to pick it is with the eyes on the Deadpool logo. They are typically not rounded at all on the top edge and not fully rounded on the bottom, but more of a curved triangle.

update: I went with a little less busy design.
Lighted deadpool logo, lighted bullet holes.
Of course the front side has the led light blades.

I’m trying a few colors (black and red).

I’m wprking on code and lighting integration now and will post soon an update.

I could make 2 versions for those who want to keep the QR reader on top. There is enough space I guess, although I need some room for mounting the PCBs on the bottom.

Also: the logo looks white but it is RGB lighted when the game is on.

edit: I’ll look into the deadpool eyes, I did not notice that.

This is very nice work indeed - I love the katana slash over the plunger section, and the bullet holes look great!

Where you've made it less busy, I'd say it maybe looks like its now missing a little something - I reckon still needs an extra bit of trim, or a border, or maybe just a little something to go in those bare areas between the bullet holes and the logo ( eg maybe even a few more bullet holes, or perhaps some bullet casings)? Just to be clear - I'm not a designer and I couldn't come up with anything half as good as what you've done here.

Eventually we went with LE red and kept the bullet holes/ claw slashes that were on the first concept 2 months ago.

It will be available for pre order soon

Some progress:
-Sparkle LE powdercoat
-3D bullets, now in metal color
-Added over apron lighting

Need to work on the code and I’ve been thinking of adding artwork, but can’t find anyone who can do this. If someone can help, reach out.
