Turn dip switch 8 back on before powering up, this will force it to use a Eprom burned bootstrap firmware that has nothing but a simple light show and the code to upgrade the firmware from the USB. This makes the machines recoverable if the flash goes bad.
Make sure you use a FAT formatted usb stick under 4Gb to do the upgrade, and that you unzipped the file completely to the usb stick and wait before pulling it out of the computer for a minute after the computer says it is done copying.
