Hey jbug I have a led colorDMD in mine, yes there is a menu for setting the system type. Off hand, I can't exactly remember how to get to it but I believe it's in the instructions and video on their website.
Do you know if you have the Chroma A1 board? This is most recent board, chances are if you purchased yours recently you have this. If so then did you install the software yet?
Follow steps here:
As far as the ribbon, I just used my existing display ribbon, not the on it came with, not sure what that is for.
viper001 getting the ship can can be kinda a pain. Make sure the ship cover is off (the actual ship part made of rubber) then make sure the flags are removed, finally the ship has to be in the lowered position to remove it - without removing the masts. If you can not get it to the lower position you will have to remove the c clips on the back and pull off the masts. Hope this helps pm me if you need more help!
I doubt is the "guide" which is the white track that the ship slides along that piece I super tough, its basically like chefs cutting board material. Also, keep in mind when you move the ship by hand, there is an order you have to move it... First move the ship forwards towards the bow, then lower the rear, then drop the sails ( you will see a lever to this on the back of the ship ) then move it to the sunk position... if something is binding, look to see if maybe something is stuck in the track.. or is the motor frozen??
Have you replaced the cool sleeve?
Quoted from jbug:
I am getting weak plunges so I replaced the green spring with another but problem is still there. Plunges do one of 3 things:
Go all the way up top
Come back to the plunger
Go far enough reach the short return ramp to the right flipper.
Also the same problem with the auto plunger. I'm going to change the rubber tip to see if that helps. the manual plunger. Any tips on this?
Oh sorry maybe I'm confused, if at th end of s ball drain (not end of game) you lose you progress a setting iss off. If at the end of the game you lose progress that is correct. Otherwise pinball would get old real fast if it carri d scores and progress over. Some games do this to a degree however very low
Just updated my Color DMD, and I'm getting some really bad artifacts, anyone else who has an LED noticing this.
Personally I love my pirates, I think it's one of the most underrated games, and could be hard to beat - from a gameplay perspective
I don't think the lower prices are isolat d to POTC per se... I think Stern resale in general are down... I sold a Metallica with around 300 games on it 5 mo the ago for around 5200... now that same game is selling for around 4800. I think the lack of quality in the newer games is hurting overall sale prices of stern titles
I have an lcd in my Indy and an led in pirates, it’s amazing how much brighter the led is
I recently did a restore and if you have to replace the main ramp it’s costly.
Agree with others You want to see pics of the boards and spinning disk working (the motor alone is about 260.00 ) and the ship works too. Looks to be in pretty good shape, I didn’t see a pic of the shooter lane ? What’s he asking
Hey guys, I have a beautifully restored POTC I'm putting up for sale. I thought I would never do this, but its time for a new home. This machine is basically new. I know there are a few for sale and my price may be a bit high, I am willing to move a little on price, but There is some serious time in this machine. If you have seen any of my build threads you will see how meticulous I am.
Asking 5199.00 OBO, Cheers and thank you for looking.
