Have some lighted skulls available that look pretty cool. Can hook to any 6v insert or GI, no soldering. $45 shipped. Black or white best for Potc.

2-3/8x2-1/4x2. They fit perfect in small dark areas.

Wish I could join this club, played it at Allentown, very fun game. Bet it's better when you can hear the sound. Is it deep and difficult? Didn't really know what I was doing.

#139 4 years ago

Thanks. Why does it command such a high relative price? Seems like it regularly goes for 4000-4500, which is LOTR and TSPP territory, and I'd assume those are better games, and it's way above rbion, which is a great game (deep and very tough) that goes for around 3k.

I think I'd like to own this at some point, but probably in the 3000-3500 range, which means I guess I may never own it.

This game offers a lot of modding opportunities. Added a lighted skull to my game. My phone is awful for taking pics with LEDs in them (S7)

more modding...RGB undercab light kit that I tied into the pop bumpers, ship and the spinning disc. When ball hits the pops, it flashes red, when it hits the ship it flashes green, and when it goes on the spinning disc, each time it hits the wall it flashes blue. You can change the colors around if you want, really easy install. One of the more active games to take advantage of undercab lighting

We currently have three of these available at $69 each shipped.

Installed the airball deflector from maffewl this evening. Nice mod. Install was very simple, took me 60 seconds. just remove the screws as shown in the pic, loosen both ramp screws to give yourself more room so you can easily access the left screw, slide the plastic over the existing plastic and reinstall the screws.

Simple, but effective!

My outlanes are set wide open. Only thing i cant complete is sinking all the ships. Its a dangerous shot, especially if you miss.

#977 2 years ago

This game is brutal with the outlanes wide open. My high with them open is 320 mil on 3 ball and one extra ball at 120 mill, rest is factory, but for most games, I have trouble cracking 20 mil. Every once in a while, I'll have a great game, which keeps me coming back. On that 320 mil game, I had the entire compass completed except DJ. Getting triple scoring and hitting jackpots really is the fastest way to boost your score...easier said than done.

Your optos likely aren't working in the trough so that's why it's spitting out balls.

Coin door switch is bad possibly. Hold the door switch in to see if you can get to the menus. Tape it closed if you have to.

#1072 2 years ago
Quoted from marmar:

I understand but I am not able to get to the Service menu at all. I press the menu button and it just says Free Game if I open the coin door I get the message.

If you open the coin door, it is supposed to give the message about disabling power. Why you cant get to the menue sounds like an issue with your menu buttons. Check the wires to the buttons.

You said you adjusted the switches and tested them, but how did you test them? In test mode with the rubber on, roll a ball to the sling at varying speeds and see if the switches both register. If they don't register consistently, the gaps on the leaf switches need further adjusting.

#1130 2 years ago

Sounds like your leaf switches need cleaning and better adjustment.. Could be a loose wire too.

The opto boards on potc and other games from this era are very common to fail, particularly the ones in the trough. I'm guessing the vibration in the trough causes the issue. If they don't work right, you can get a host of issues, many related to MBs. Luckily, they aren't expensive to replace. Usually the transmitter light will go out or flicker. Just had it happen on my potc a couple of weeks ago.

Anyone ever replace thier right main ramp that also goes to left inlane? I’m replacing it for a friend and wondered if there was anything in particular to watch out for. Thx

#1433 1 year ago
Quoted from maffewl:

Also, may want to reinforce the gate that drops into the right inlane. This area is notorious for cracking from repeated impacts.

This is exactly why the ramp needs replacing. The gate was missing from the game and it’s all cracked where it was so can’t install a new one.

#1436 1 year ago

My thought was to have a thin metal bracket underneath The ramp so you have metal on top from the gate bracket and metal underneath with the plastic ramp sandwiched in the middle. That should provide reinforcement. In a huo environment, I’d guess nothing is needed, however.

I replaced the ramp yesterday. It wasn’t too bad. You do have to unsolder the switch where you walk the plank so you can feed the wires into the new ramp. I also took the wire form vuk out with the old ramp. New ramp also doesn’t come with decals. Took me about 90 mins to do it, maybe a little more.

All,
Anyone using undercab lightening?
Love to see a video of POTC using these undercab lights (i.e. Rock Custom).
Tim

Here you go...you can customize which color is tied to a flasher. Pretty reasonably priced.
