I have a green LED in one of the two spotlights, and warm white one in the other. Less clown vomit that way

Are any of you guys interested in a HEP POTC playfield that is new/never installed?

Here is the link - let me know - thanks, Bob

Had pirates for around a year now and thought I would share a few photos of what I’ve done to it.

You've got a one-of-a-kind pin there. Where did you find Jack the Monkey, plus items to make your topper. Machine looking super, POTC LE.

Quiet here. Hope your all enjoying the Stern's POTC. A good player friend recently beat Davy Jones which is pretty impressive imo. Who here has done that?

And Tortuga is still a favorite shot /lock-toy for me. I love filling it for full multiball and how it's incorporated on the DMD... very rewarding. This pin screams for ColorDMD.

I have done in (just once) and that was quite a rush but I crumbled fast during 4 winds Multiball.

Color DMD is a must, brings the pin to life.

My favorite mode is Jack the monkey hurry up.

I have twice. However, I have yet to complete the compass for the Four Winds Multi-ball. I get close with one direction to go, then I choke.

#2064 4 years ago
Quoted from PeterG:

That looks great! Is it hooked up to the auto launch?

#2065 4 years ago

The gun is just a plunger. So no connecting to the auto launcher. Also I would not want that because you need to half plunge most of the time to get the Super Duper Skill shot and quickly add ball to for Tortuga Multiball.

Quoted from mmuglia:

It is not a Magnet but printed on thick plastic. That is a custom made one, a friend did that for me.

Hey Guys,

My spinning disk is making some noise, when I took it apart the disk itself is 'warped'... is that normal? I put a new motor in but watching it as it spins it 'wobbles' and the disk hits the bottom mount causing friction thus creating noise. I am worried it is causing pressure on the motor which may cause its life to shorten.
anyway.. just wanna make sure they are not meant to be warped before i order one unnecessarily.

Anyone recognize that ships wheel?

Toy?
Beer sign?
POTC item?
Etsy?
Liquor advert piece?

I see it's probably plastic - but not sure
I see acorns and oak leaves
I see a crown and swords
I see 8 spokes

I've searched for several hours (yes, I did) and came up empty and I consider myself top 1% in internet search skills - prove me to be terrible at it please!

My POTC gives an service error on Switch D-27 Dipswitch 3? What can that be? I think I set that, to have it on Dutch settings. But wonder if there is anytrhing wrong with that. I could not find D-27 in the manual?

Have you guys been able to backhand the Jack ramp? I can do it now and then, last time was immediately after the hurry up started.

I can do it on occasion. It's not the easiest shot, but it is possible.

Same here, Once in a while. Usually it doesn't make it the whole way up and just rolls back out.

I'm looking for a nice speaker panel decal. Does anyone make a decal for this game?

#2079 4 years ago

I just picked one up cheap and after fixing a few things I got to put some time in it, what a great pin! For sure does not get enough credit. I think it is way better than half the games ranked above it. I rebuilt the ship with new coils and got it 100%. I have a new compass decal. does anyone have experience removing what needs to be removed to get to the compass disk? just wondering if that entire left ramp has to come off first.

Back Alley Creations has a replacement and some other add on parts (cannons, plank, rum barrels etc.) More money than a decal, but well made.https://backalleycreations.com/collections/pirates-of-the-carribean-mods/products/black-pearl-decking-speaker-panel

Yes you have to take the left ramp off. Quite the project to tear the top side of this game down.

So true! I've wanted one for years. Very fun game with lots of rewarding shots and a lot going on. Don;t for get to get the airball protector.

Just put one on mine. looks so much better then the sneeze guard. I put one on my friends game last year and know first hand they work great.

On the down side of this game. Yeah it's a chore to shop and change bulbs. But once you get LEDS in then you're fine.

I am going to put the new spinner decal on this weekend and put some new rubbers up there and I should be good to go.

i bought a new decal from Marco and installed it (without Mylar), and after under 100 games the decal wore right thru to the spinner and made a complete mess of the game. took me hours to strip the top end and clean it all out.
Got another decal and put mylar over it.

Not sure if your supposed to put mylar over it? I dont recall it having mylar on it originally nor see anything about it in the manual.

I assume mylar would be OK, did it still register hits OK? My decal has a rough surface and I am assuming so it will grab the ball some, but mylar will not do that.

That's interesting. I sold my POTC yesterday, but I replaced the spinner decal at least a year ago and it still looked brand new when I sold it.

rebuilt ship, new spinner decal with mylar and all new rubber on the compass (makes huge difference). added LEDs, and I should be done now. This is one of the bigger pain in the butt pins I have ever done. reminded me of white water a little, but worse.

Just acquired a PoTC with just 150 plays on it. Needless to say it's in nice shape. The one thing I have noticed with the Dead Man's Chest toy is that often when I make shots on the chest the ball just rolls back out the way it came without getting locked behind the chest and then sent out the back. Has anyone else experienced this and is it common/expected behavior? It seems like once I spell K-E-Y, those shots that get rejected don't open the chest or register a hit towards the H-E-A-R-T goal.

Anyone with feedback on this one?

Recently picked up a POTC myself that does the same thing with some shots just rolling back out. Wasn’t sure if you had to spell key to get the ball to lock or not.? So interested in finding out what the proper function of the chest is also.

#2095 4 years ago

There's a gate behind the chest. It should keep the ball from rolling back out. There could be times when the ball beats the gate and comes back out, but that should not be the norm.

what I have noticed is if it is a perfect super fast shot it will roll back out, which means it is bouncing back out and beating the gate from closing. The glancing slower shots always get locked.

Even if it does beat the gate should it still register a hit? Isn't the opto towards the front as opposed to inside/in back?

#2098 4 years ago

Yes. The opto's are under the plastics in front of the chest.

Theres also a mini rol microswitch under the chest near the gate post.
