Here is a vid of the cannons on my ship firing. They fire all the time while power is on, but they stop when the ship sinks. I cannot think of any ship (real or false) that can fire its cannons when it sinks. They start firing again when the ship comes back up.
More mod videos with cannons. These are by the flippers. They fire when you press the flipper buttons. If you hold in a button, it only fires once. If you rapidly press the button it will fire but not fire again until there is about a 1/2 second wait between button presses. I put dark paper down for the vids so you can see them firing.
ah I see! The sails are somewhat rigid! It looks awesome. Good job.
PS: I think you guys are ruining your PF with all the blue LEDs. Having the warmth of warm-white lights on the playfield gives it an older, classic looks, like an old map. Which the PF represents... Just my 0.02.

Thank you again.
Hello guys,
i've got a technical question for my POTC. more details there :
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/potc-flipperscoils-go-dead#post-4151273
short : when J6 is connected, F10 fuse burns.
thanks and merry christmas / happy new year
Happy new member of the club.
I sorted mostly the issue and played my first game on it, fully working.
Had a nice session but did not manage to beat davy Jones. Reached 123 M on latest rom factory setting
Only question, the spinner gives a metallic sound not so gentle for my hears, is there something on the disk to avoid that in the machine, which could be absent on mine ?

Almost certainly, the compass decal has worn away around the edges, so the balls are grinding on the metal underneath. You can replace the decal. I'd recommend to also add a protector decal, so you get more wear out if it. (This also quietens the sound considerably.)

I agree.
I just ordered the following from Comet. All in WARM WHITE. I will attempt to convert the G.I. and inserts to these. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.
My goal is to preserve the "old map look" that the warm incandescent bulbs offered. I will report back. Cheers!
(back lighting and some on the G.I.)

Personally, I don't like LEDs for the Tortuga and Key lights. No matter what you do, they look too bright and lack character. IMO, using the original coloured incandescents looks best.
Michi.

Totally agree with you. In fact, this is one title I don't like LEDs in at all. The warm, burning color of incandescents works really well with the theme!
i have noflix under the playfield inserts but i call them doflix cause some of them just do
i like bright inserts but all the gi except under the slings ive kept incandesent.
I find it looks so mutch better and keeps a certain feel to it.

I can see that. I was going to try and re-use the "condoms" that are already on the lights. This should dim them.
And yes, I agree that the yellow glow of incandescent lights works awesome with the theme. I already wrote that.
We'll see how it turns out. Cheers!

I like these much better than the condoms:

Thanks for the link.
All my colored incandescent lights (like the ones in the link) are still working.
I thought I'd try Comet green and reds and see what it looks like.
The reds are ok, but the greens might be a little overwhelming...

I used these ones from Comet Pinball (frosted cap):
https://www.cometpinball.com/product-p/1smd5050ng.htm
I colour-matched the inserts, except for orange and yellow, for which I used warm white. The LEDs are plenty bright, with really rich saturated colour, and absolutely zero ghosting on my machine. (I mean "zero" ghosting, not just "almost no" ghosting.)
Anyone install theme song with pinball browser?
Some trivial info for you disney fans that know what hidden mickeys are.
Have you all found the hidden Mickey on the PF?
Quoted from Soulrider911:psw757 no way where!
You really want me to give it away? Lol
Do some lookin buddy, they got one in there though. Got to love Disney!
There are 2 if i'm correct
Just about my search of a ramp. If it's in usa, i can have it shipped back to France. So ping me please
Quoted from yzfguy:I saw that Mickey first day I got the game and never could un-see it again!
Funny how Disney incorporates them, they are all over at Disney World and most have no idea.
Where is number 2 ?

The one I'm aware of is below the flippers in the coins.
Quoted from BENETNATH:The shape of the lock on translite's chest
Wow - never noticed that one
Gotta love Disney!
This pinball gets a good feedback from my son, easy and fun to play.
But he often goes to tspp and rfm after one play

It’s a crowd favorite at my house because it isn’t a overwhelming experience for non pinheads.
I will say though while not super deep, I haven’t come across many people who have actually beat it and completed four winds multiball.

4 winds is not the wizard mode. Gauntlet is.
Great game for beginners. Challenging for good players but does become chopping wood to get to the Wizard mode, but fun chopping wood.

I didn’t know this, I’m assuming another multiball?

about 3/4 of the page
i only made it once on a potc with all settings on easy , but im just an avarage player.
maybe with the glass of you can start by hand
either way it is a lot of work!
Quoted from jorro:i only made it once on a potc with all settings on easy
I haven't been able to get to gauntlet on factory settings yet. I've played Four Winds about 20 times now. But never manage to finish it. The problem is that you get only one shot at Four Winds. If you don't make it, you have to complete the entire compass again.
POTC has one of the hardest wizard modes in all of pinball.

New owner of POTC here. First pinball machine I own and new to all this.
I'm going over the game and noticed when my chest lid opens up it hits the plastic ramp above it. Is that normal? Is there suppose to be an internal stop that prevents this? I'm thinking maybe the plunger rod is too short in the coil so it pulls the lid too far open? Any ideas?
it stops exactly in the cutout in the ramp whitout touching it.
it has room to spare.
maybe your chest isnt screwed down at the bottom anymore to the playfield on one side?
Quoted from PeterG:Most of the games have a broken big ramp. The problem is when the ball comes back on the gate and drops into the right lane to the flipper. The gate is mounted on the plastic ramp and that will brake...I have not seen many of pirate machines that not have a broken ramp on that point. Most are repaired with some additional metal parts.
My ramp is cracked exactly at that spot. What are the additional metal parts that people use to fix this? Any example somewhere?

It clears the cutout but seems to go too far back. The ramp stops the lid instead of whatever mechanism is supposed to stop it. I just can't figure out what it needs. I'll have to take it apart.
Everything else seems screwed in right.

take a look in the manual page 76 and 77
if you don't have it just google for stern potc manual

All is home made. I do not know of any solution for sale.
