Before Stern makes it out of the 80s and into the 90s with it's series of rock themed pinball machines it seems only right they should pay tribute to the greatest and most iconic 80s band of them all! The Dead Kennedys!!!!!

It's not about album sales, it's about pinball sales! Certainly every pinsider has heard of this band by now.

Exactly what I was thinking there.

#12 7 years ago

Read the youtube comments on that one. LOL!!

#13 7 years ago

Escape The Kepone Factory mode.
Lynch The Landlord mode.
Assemble A Tricky, Dicky Screwdriver multiball.
Protect Your Uncool Niece hurry up.

#14 7 years ago

A Dead Kennedys pinball would be a dream come true!

Lets lynch the landlord man!

#15 7 years ago

Tonite's the night we got the truck

#16 7 years ago

I'm dreaming of a day when music pins are released that aren't top 40 radio friendly.

Dead Kennedys
Sex Pistols
Bad Religion
Ramones
NOFX

Just to name a few.....

Minor threat were better

#19 7 years ago

The Dead Milkmen have got a Big Lizard that would like to talk to you.

#20 7 years ago

Rage Against the Machine would be pretty cool as well. I like the idea of Stern doing a general layout and reskinning it for several lesser known bands (many bands could sell a 400 machine run...if that is enough to justify it).

Quoted from j69:

yeah they were the best. good luck getting ian mackaye to agree to licensing terms, though! he'd probably stipulate that games can cost no more than $500.

#23 7 years ago

How about a machine centering around multiple one hit wonder bands on the same machine.

EMF would be hysterical as one of them. Heck, Vinilla Ice would be cool too.

#24 7 years ago

Uhm, what about Europe, Twisted Sister, and all the other, bigger, non-pinball-branded bands from the 80's? DK isnt that special to me that they deserve a pinball LOL

#25 7 years ago

Lets all grow up guys....it is obvious that Stormtroopers of Death is the next music pin by Stern....

#26 7 years ago

DEVO!!! Now there's a fun pinball idea!!

Powerdome shot to the top anyone?

Unbelievable

I'd vouch for DEVO to! WHIP IT, WHIP IT GOOD

#31 7 years ago

Pinside is guilty of being white.

Very guilty.

#32 7 years ago

I vote for Agnostic Front Or Circle Jerks

#33 7 years ago

I vote virtual pin with hundreds of punk - metal pins to load on it. From a marketing standpoint it might actually be a huge hit. (obviously not the first person to think of this) Many of the bands mentioned would be great, esp DK

#34 7 years ago

Who else has ever been 2 Drunk 2 Fuck?
Back in grade 8 woodshop class I carved a nice Holiday in Cambodia sign

#35 7 years ago
Quoted from rvboarder:

I've opened for both those bands...

#36 7 years ago

I love the idea but its about as likely as a Wesley Willis machine.

#37 7 years ago

I guess it was 1980-1981 era first heard DK at the U Club. A joint close to University of Tennessee Knoxville. They had Animal Hour 4 for 1 pictures of Draft. Punk music and slamming. Anyone still got an Izod shirt with the gator ripped off?

#38 7 years ago

I do not think you understood the point of my post Odin. Every other title people standup and scream there favorite band name that has not been made into a pin "blasphemy". So why do they not make a run of like Playfield designs but with different art and sound packages. Maybe even a slight variance in rules. Sell like 5 versions all different bands. It would be like multiple LEs of your dream bands. And they could do like 5 at a time. Smaller bands with fan followings should not take as much to get ip especially if they are into pinball. Knowing of a band does not always make them pin worthy. Of course I know the dead Kennedy's. I am sure they have enough following to do something like this. Probably in smaller numbers than met and acdc though all I am saying. Dead Kennedy's did not sell Beatles numbers. Very cool band though!!!

#39 7 years ago

Always have respect but never been a massive DK fan, the California guitar bothers me after awHile.
Minor Threat better music for sure, but doesn't translate as well to a pin.
Misfits would be the obvious choice for me.

#40 7 years ago

Too Drunk To Fuck mode, with reversed flippers a la WOZ/GB

Quoted from rvboarder:

Here's a pic of some of my old crew hanging with stigma from agnostic front when my old band played with them. We played a handful of shows with them it was a blast

Good luck getting Jello to sign off. I was a bouncer when he did his spoken word, only spoken word presentation I've ever had to throw people out. Lightning rod Jello!

#45 7 years ago
Quoted from Luzur:

Uhm, what about Europe

I'm sure everybody at Stern thinks about Europe when they are on their lunch break.

#46 7 years ago

I was in junior high school when "fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables" hit the shelves. I was also the DJ for the school dances Bad choice! HA! Air Supply followed by "Chemical Warfare" Good times!

Not his say. He lost the rights to all that stuff in a bitter legal dispute with his former band mates 15 years ago.

Wow! did not know that. Love their music.

#49 7 years ago

Yeah the other guys said he wasn't paying them royalties and other things. The judge agreed and now alternative tentacles isn't under his control.
