Have about 850 plays on my AIQ Premium. Noticed copper dust in the cabinet from flippers. Changed coil stops and sleeves without any problems. Flippers seem weaker now, especially the right flipper. Can’t hit the Black Widow ramp, even from the catch. Any thoughts?

Make sure the plunger actually STOPS on the new stops. If it falls short the flippers will be spongy. The plunger must crash hard onto the coil stop for it to be effective.

Maybe the new stops are shorter than the originals?

Make sure the coil mounting bracket is straight and the coil sleeve is fitted into it properly. A misaligned coil mounting bracket can cause binding and week flippers.

I ordered the coil stops from Pinball Life. They are the Stern/Sega ones. I didn’t compare the new ones with the old ones. Install seemed to go great. I put the coil sleeves in like the old ones. Maybe it’s just in my head.

Are the coil mounting brackets (near the middle of the assembly) straight and tight?

I’ll have to check that...

Did you look them over going in ? Coil stop, coil, front bracket, in a straight line ? Coil stop leaning in or out ?

Might not be in your head.
