Hi!
Tommy's been acting strange. When both flipper buttons are held down it will do a variety of things that it shouldn't be doing. This is not consistent and varies from day to day. Strange behavior includes: Launching the ball, turning off the music, beginning modes, thinking that the mirror was hit and sometimes completely resetting. Some days it does not do this at all but lately it's more often than not.

I apologize if this has been covered here already. I'm new to this and did not find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

you have or had acid damage on the board? you have good voltage out of your PS board?

Check all fuse clip holders for cracks or even broken ones, check all boards....especially the power supply and PPB board and report back.

Launching the ball by pressing both of the flipper buttons is normal. It is an option, rather than manually plunging the ball.

Also hums a little bit when both flippers are pressed....like an EM game. Did not do this before.
Checked the voltage and fuses. All seem good... Did find these burnt connectors though. Must be the problem? Is there an acceptable way to insert these into a new connector without one of those insertion tools?

I've had this game for years and it's always worked great. No reasons to every really get under the hood...til now.

Thanks so much for the help!

Those burnt connectors are all GI lighting connectors. You have a problem with your switch matrix located on the CPU board in the upper right of the game.

Game and audio resets are also a symptom of a burnt powerboard CN1 connector, so you might as well check that too.

Yes! There is also a burnt pin on that CN1 connector.
I've been told that the abundance of #89 flashers in this game can be problematic. Probably time to replace 'em with LEDs.
