My Time Machine is in the restore que but I have the exact same problem. This seems to be common with DE machines and the SS flippers.
Last night I played a game and the ball launched off the million point ramp and shot halfway across the playfield! It actually makes the game seem clunky at times because the ball bounces around so much. I was hoping a shop job would help with new rubbers but you still have a problem so I'm sure I will too. 
I sure do love the game though!
