Hi guys, just got a Data East Star Wars from 92.

Seller told me it was allright.

Playing my first game, music playes well for about 10-15 secounds, and music turns off, Ben Kanobi says continuesley "may the force be with you" over and over again, and no music, until ball drains, then music starts playing for a little while, and gets cut off again, sound effects are there.

Where too look, what to doo.

I assume, the bottom right boars is the sound board, i reconnected the cabels on that one, also did pull out 4 IC´s and hoped it would help, but still have the same problem, anyone got any idea, where too look?

Besided music issue, its a fun and underrated game, well i think that

Go over the connectors on the big board with the batteries, make sure none are loose. That board sends the signals to the audio board on what to call up.

Allright, will check that.
Reading old theats in the forum, some interresting reading about cracked fuseholders should doo this issue, can these bee checked with boards on??

Quoted from DEN:

can these bee checked with boards on?

Power off, wiggle them. You can see if they are loose from the board or don't grip the fuse tight.

Hi. I've got the exact same problem with my DE Star wars. I've done most of the items recommended in this post. I'm using the new 1.04 ROM... DEN or anyone out there know what the permanent solution was to this problem?? Many thanks!

I've got the same issue. Tried reseating the connectors and even put some deoxit on it with no luck. Anyone find a fix for this?

Mine started doing the same thing last week. I did reseat the connectors with no luck. I’m dealing with a STTNG diverted coil problem right now but will dig into the sound issue in Star Wars over the weekend. I suspect a low voltage issue due to aging capacitors causing the sound board to reboot. I’ll chime back once I’ve started working the problem.
