I am a noob so please excuse me if I use the wrong terminology.
My brother bought a DE Star Wars for his kids for Christmas and it worked the day we brought it home, but noticed that the left slingshot wasn't kicking the ball. The next day I tested with a volt meter and the leaf switches appeared to work but the coil did not fire. I went to play a game a noticed the following:
1. When you turn the game on the right scoop fires repeatedly until you start a game, but it does not work if a ball goes in.
2. If the ball hits pop bumper number 2 it registers a slam tilt and reboots.
I then noticed that nothing in column 1 of the switch matrix works. I ran through the diagnostics and during switch test it lists all of column 1 switches. Thinking it was the right scoop blade switch I tested the diode and got nothing. I lifted the blade and do not hear and clicking. I ordered a new switch and some diodes but they are not here yet. I looked at the CPU and do not see anything burned or swollen or out of place. The game is in excellent condition and does not appear to be hacked up anywhere.
Would a bad switch cause these issues?
What else can I look at to troubleshoot this issue?
