mwirta-- Refer back to Clay's page... He'll explain where you need to look if you still have issues after changing the TIP36c and Tip 102......

Yes it is possible, which can blow the TIP36C... You need to make sure the thick wire is attached to the banded side of the diode. The thin wire attaches to the non banded side(the thin wire/non banded side is return path to ground)
