I just got a LW3 last night and had a quick question. I have the table setup at around 7 to 7.5 degree slope because it plays a little slow and I want it to play faster. Is that normal for this game to be a little slower and need the steeper playfield?
Also, regardless of steepness, I seem to be unable to get the ball up the ramp. I checked the flipper linkages and what not and everything feels pretty good, but am debating on doing a rebuild just for good measure. I looked up the part number for the flippers in the manual and the manual said 500-5606-71 and 500-5606-72. There is an addendum to the manual and it updated the parts to 500-5606-73 and 500-5606-74. I can't find any rebuild kits that use these part numbers. Most sites use 500-6306-00 and 500-6306-10. These kits are different then what I have installed. My flippers look like the illustrations in the manual with the side flipper return spring. Whats the right approach? Is there something else I am overlooking to get the ball up the ramp?
Thanks!
Seth
Seth, did you check the EOS gap? I think I suggested that as a first check when you and Eric were at my house. However, if you set the game so steep, I think it will be very difficult to hit the ramp shot regardless. It's a very steep ramp and if you set the game steeper than designed I think it will be near impossible. It was definitely possible when I had it, it just wasn't easy when trying from a dead ball on the flipper.
I'm surprised you set it so steep. It's not really a fast game unless you are hitting the loop. All the other shots pretty much stop the ball, right?
