Are you doing anything with the cabinet? If so; What & how?
In the process of getting my LW3 that I recently traded for fully operational. Just need to fix the backbox lighting, install LEDs, rubbers and fully clean. Already fixed the playfield lighting, painted the gun handle, replaced the single topper light with two and made a cool dynamite mod.

Last night I replaced the topper light flasher that also had a busted plastic dome. Bought a red and blue light from Amazon for $12 each, replaced the bulb in them with a #89 bulb - same type used in the original flasher - and put in a 3 amp fuse for the flashers instead of the 1a that was installed.

Nice!
How did you attach the bombs to the play field?

If you make any extras, I could use the plastic the covers the Lethal Weapon 1 hole.
Re-linking here.
Maybe you guys have the answer?

Found someone else who made plastics and he happily sold me a spare set he made. So I'm all good now without any broken plastics.
Great to hear. This game really looks great with new plastics.

Have had one for a long time. Bought 4 pins from a local operator with a friend
that he couldn't fix and got one really nice LW3 out of the deal. While its a relatively
simple ruleset we play it quite a bit. BTW, for those that may not know, its based on
the LW2 movie. One of the great features are no plastic ramps to break!

I just got a Lethal Weapon 3 last week. I'm going through the process of getting everything going. I really loved this machine back in high school.
If any one feels like helping me out here is a link to my flipper issue thread. Or if someone could post a pic of the underneath playfield near the flipper area it would be a great help!
http://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/lethal-weapon-3-flipper-and-plunger-issues
I have one and it gets played alot. Simple to understand, and fun for several games, especially for newer players. I like the double sirens....very nice!

Could someone please take a pic of the backplate behind hole #1 and hole #3? Having issues with shooting the ball into hole #3 and it not staying in the hole and then bouncing back into the playfield. Wondering if there is supposed to be some cushioning on the metal plate to absorb some impact.
Thanks!

On my pin there is no padding on the brackets in either LW holes
I am planing to make my self a set of repro plastics and are considering a making a very very limited run of sets. Are there any interest out there for this? (By mistake made a topic poll)
Here is my first hand made repro prototype mounted on my pin.
A few adjustments needed, but looks a lot better then my original
plastic for that part of the pin.
Plastic_print_prototype_mounted.png
I forgot to check if the correct coils are installed on the flippers and will also check the EOS switches. Maybe they are not adjusted correctly and leaving the flippers too strong. I removed the metal plate for hole #3 and instead and installed a rubber between two posts behind the hole. Works like a charm and I haven't had a bounce out since.
Still getting air balls off the center drop targets, specifically the right post on the bank when the right target is down and off the center when the center target is down. I'll get balls flying up to the left habit trail. I removed the wire stop behind the center target because that was just making a solid wall for the ball to hit. Now that the rubber can stretch back when hit, that eliminates air balls from there. Still get air balls off the right post though.

mima, I would be interested in a set if you go ahead with it!

PoMC, I think there is supposed to be a plastic piece that goes over the center drop targets to prevent the air balls. In this pic you can kind of see what I'm talking about.
I wasn't able to find one for sale so I made my own. It needs a little work, but I'll try and post a pic later tonight.

I also have issues with air balls from the center drop targets, especially when some targets are down, i have not yet investigated in that tough. My flippers are strong, but not crazy strong, however my laser kick shoots like crazy, have not yet checked that coil tough.
Other than that i have three minor intermediate issues that i do not know how to address:
Some times (but not always) it takes more then one try (up to five tries) for the coil to kick out the ball from LW1 hole, and then quite often the ball drains in center between flippers.
Some times the right drop target in the center bank needs more than one power-hit to drop (tough when checking it it is as smooth as all the other and drops easily)
And once in a while the center bank do not reset (until start of next ball) when all targets are down.
On the LW3-hole-issue note:
I found that i tightened the metal guides leading in to LW2 & 3 hole when i did my ramplift and clean of the playfield, that made it slightly harder to make those shots, sometimes the ball gets up there and roll back down, that could be something for you to adjust to allow the ball easier to get in to the hole?

I have such a piece on my pin, but that does not stop the air balls from flying. (thats why i found i needed to make me some repro plastics cause the plastic over my standup target bank is all beaten up by all the air balls

I don't have that plastic, but I will reposition the dynamite sticks I made to overhang the targets slightly. Don't think it will help because the air balls don't go straight up after hitting the post behind the targets. If I hand roll a ball against the post, it gets a little air as it line drives off the post. Can feel it leave the playfield and land back on the table, and that's just giving it a decent hand roll. With the flippers, the ball can take off and land on the trail or even the plastic above the bullet targets on the left.
Removing that metal wire piece behind the targets rubber helps prevent airballs from that spot. Just use pliers to pull out the wire. Easy enough to push back in if you want too.
Probably found my problem....the left flipper has the wrong coil (stronger coil) installed 090-5020-30 when it should be 090-5030-00. Difference is 900 wire turns on the wrong coil and 1100 on the correct coil. So my left flipper is much stronger than it should be.
Good thing is my Baywatch uses that coil, so it will be a good spare part to have on hand when I need to replace it.

I had that problem to on the two LW3's I had.
You need to bend the metal "roof" above the hole so the ball can just go under it.
With hole 3 you have the added difficulty that the "roof" could be to much down so the ball ejects very slow into the pop bumpers or rolls back, than you've bend it to far and need to bend it up slightly.
Good luck with this fantastic game, missed mine so much that i've bought a second one
Thanks. Will try this. Replaced the wrong coil with a weak one and that helped. Also removed the metal plate with a rubber between two posts under there and don't get as many bounce outs.
Air balls, Air balls, Air balls!!!!
Gern, how did you make this???? Im concerned that my glass may break eventually.
Definitely interested in some repro plastics, if you ever get the chance! I'm looking at getting some plexi and creating a bend with a blowtorch so it hangs over as previously suggested. Looks like that's my only option at this point.

I'll try and post a pic tonight lurch.
I just made a pattern out of some card board, traced it on to the plexi-glass, and cut it out with a fine tooth blade on a jig saw. Then I sanded down the edges. The piece looks ok. I need to sand a bit more to reshape it. I will say since I put it on the airballs are almost gone.

Love this mod. My friend just asked the other day "Wouldn't it be cool if it has red and blue lights". Now I have a basic idea on how to do this, thanks!

Id be happy to, but im not sure what the "3 plastic" is.

Hi, I'm looking for a specific plastic, I'm hoping someone happens to have an extra they can sell me. I'm trying to not have to buy the whole set of plastics (if I can even find them), the rest are all in good shape. It is the plastic above the "1" hole. Here is a picture of the plastic. Mine is broken in a couple of places. Thanks!

I own a LW3 and this is the most damaged plastic on the machine. They rarely come up for sale. Your best bet would be to recreate it. The main issue is that the ball loves to hit that area and snap the plastic piece off.
At one point mima was talking about making some plastics. Maybe that will still happen.

Update, still work in progress, I have my prototype but was not satisfied with the colours of the print job. My print guy has gone up in smoke. But I will, sooner or later finnish that project, however at the moment it looks like it will stay at that plastic piece, no full sets. When I get things sorted I will do a small run of that plastic and offer for a fair price for you guys here at pinside.

Hmm odd, it appears I'm missing the post next to the eject hole but I put everything back on I took off!
Thanks.
I just rescued one of these that sat broken in a basement for 15 yrs. After 4 hrs of beer & nicotine removal. LEDs & wax today. Busted coil mount for the shooter is the only thing holding up the first plunge. This is the lightest modern PF I have ever lifted. The goodie bag still had the slingshot & key fob plastics in it.
Is the cab the same blue as Baywatch?
Who has the cheapest replacement stand up target faces? 4/5 are shattered.
Missing the wire gate to the ramp also.
Thanks in advance,
Lee
