Hey all. I’ve been trying to track down an odd issue with my DE Star Wars that has developed recently. Occasionally, when I hit the flippers, it is triggering some of the pop bumpers. I’m wondering if there’s a wire crossed somewhere but can’t seem to track down whether this is an issue under the playfield or on the boards. Any tips to help me locate the problem? Thank you!

This happened to me (was also triggering slam tilt) and it was the screw for the playfield hook. It had come loose and was grounding out on a switch below it. I could never get anything wrong show up in switch test, until I had switch test running and started to raise the playfield and it started firing a whole bunch of stuff.

Thanks, cabuford I’ll look for anything out of the ordinary like that. Do you happen to know why I would have a “bar motor up” switch problem according to the diagnostics but the door seems to open and close correctly?

I don't. Are you getting an error in switch test? There is also a diagnostics page where you can just test the motor going up and down, so it says Bar Motor Up, but its not an error, you hold the start button and it'll run the motor.

cabuford it shows a switch error in switch test for “Bar Motor Up” but everything seems to work correctly with the Death Star door opening and closing. Can’t figure it out. I may just take it all apart and put it back together and see what happens. What could go wrong?! Thanks for the tip

This post has been a god send. I've been pulling boars and switches testing for an issue and once I read this page, I went to check my Star Wars and sure enough the same screw came loose. Tightened it up and its now all good.
