I'm in the midst of restoring a Data East Rocky & Bullwinkle. It's turned into a bit of a labour of love but the cabinet is all finished up and now i'm making a start on getting the playfield sorted.
At the moment i've got the wiring loom stripped off and it's been suggested that whilst it's off it would be worth giving it a good clean up.
I've read stories of people doing this with Bally Williams machines and actually seperating the loom out into the three component looms; lighting, switches and solenoid coils. However, upon inspecting the loom for this machine i've got a bad case of 'the fear'.
Does anyone have experience of stripping DE looms? Are they constructed the same way as Bally Williams machines or would I be better off just cleaning it all in one rather than trying to strip it out?
Right now i'm leaning towards the latter but i'd love to hear feedback from anyone with experience in this area.
