Quoted from janus:It doesn't have a physical knocker. That era uses a chirp with the speakers
Thanks, funny its in the coil test. Boo, I love a good knocker.
Quoted from janus:Don't know if any Stern/Sega/DE have a physical knocker. Totally agree with you, love a good knocker
Cheap sons of bitches.
(Fixed, put the dam switches on upside down when I put it back together.) Took the drop targets out to clean them, now not registering. When the targets are up should the switch be open or closed. Mine are closed when targets are up.
Quoted from vec-tor:Yes and no...
Thanks, I just bought this and its running Canadian CPU 1.03. Have a buddy that is going to burn me the new rom so I am guessing that is the Chad fix.
Any one else use their right leg to shoot down the storm troppers? Just tried it and worked well. Tired of losing the dam ball taking my hand off the flipper....
I bought 50 of each 47's and 555 white frosted from cointaker. Was about $75 and them turned out great!
Quoted from jesperpark:Already arrived this morning, first thing I ordered
Love the new code, just wish it was easier to get an extra ball. 18 ramp shoots now to get one.
Quoted from pudealee:I've had my DESW for over 20 years now. I can almost make continuous ramp shots with my eyes closed by merely timing the sound of the ball hitting the main ramp, coming down the the rails, and dropping onto the playfield. My record so far is 47 in a row. Back before Chad's code ChadH, you could really blow up the score that way. Now with the new code, there isn't as much scoring with continuous ramps, but more finesse is needed.
Exactly, now I never shoot for the ramp except for the Jackpot in multiball. With the old code I had the ramp shot down, now not so much. Just wish the extra ball was like 10 shoots, 3 on the old code was way to easy.
Quoted from Pahuffman:I have those too. It really does make them look better. Where did you get those clear pop caps?
No idea, was that way when I bought the game.
Quoted from cpr9999:What are Chad roms??

Quoted from Ed-g-hog:Hello all, had my SW for a week now and not had that many games as haven’t told the missus yet and it’s hidden in the garage lol. Is the chip with the sticker on, my Game ROM and does that mean it’s version 1.02 ???
Also although the sound works ok if at some stage I upgrade to a pinsound, is there any value in the old sound card ?? Thanks Mark
[quoted image]
When you turn the game on the display will show you what version roms you are running for both the sound and cpu code. Really no value in a sound rom maybe $5.
Quoted from Psw757:Was there ever an update that enabled the speeder bike mode? Always thought that was kind of wonky that it didn’t work.
I just use the plunger fire botton and it skips it pretty quick.
Quoted from wolfemaaan:It can work, it’s just not coded. ChadH discovered it while writing the 1.07 code.
The rumor is Data East made it and had to remove it because Williams had the rights to Video Mode and sued them
This is what is looks like
Wow, never knew that. I thought it was just a clip so you could grab your beer for a quick break.
Quoted from jesperpark:I ordered and put new foam on already, did not help. Although the foam I bought seems quite dense, but was sold for this application, almost seems to add to the bouncing. I will see what can be done this weekend with angling the targets down
I get alot of airballs to. Just got some new glass and you can see scratches already from the ball. I think it is just the design of the game.
Quoted from wolfemaaan:On my brothers pin, there are a few air balls but not anything more than any other 90’s pin. If you are having excessive air balls, then something’s off
I have seen the Airball into the shooter lane, but not common
You don't play enough!
Quoted from mizzou:the row of resistors on the left are burning hot to the touch.[quoted image]
Yep, all data east game are burning hot. No issue from those resistors.
